The Lost Boy

Name: Trystan

Age: Child

Brief History:
Trystan was born and raised upon the island and inside the Treehut, though he hardly remembers any of his past besides playing out in the forests with the other children. He grew up doing his best to care for the others and be as helpful as possible. Being known for being a bit on the 'restless' side, he will often go out and forage in the forest if there isn’t work to be done.

Brief Personality:
Trystan is a sweet boy, rarely getting angry or short with anyone else. He’s mellow and easy going, tending to be easily talked into doing things for others if he is asked nicely enough. He tends to have a soft spot for girls, striving to keep chivalry alive through helping them and trying to make their lives easier ( whether they ask for the help or not).

Physical Description:
Lithe, agile, and slightly tanned, Trystan spends a lot of his time being active and out in the sun and it shows. His dark hair is usually kept short and spiked with sap, mainly to keep it from getting into his eyes when he’s working. His clothing usually consists of dark tan clothes that keep him cool while he is working or playing. Shorts, tattered from work, that hang a bit under his knees, and shoes that keep his feet covered and safe from harm while he’s out foraging, tend to be the norm.

Friends

Dilly: A nice feien girl I met in the forest. She was very nice and fun to talk to.

Neutral

Bav: She was a friendly feien far as I can tell, though bit on the bossy side. I'm not too sure if I trust her or not, but she wants us to beat the pirates at finding the cabbages, so I guess for now I can trust her.

Enemies

Some pirate girl(Sparry): She hung me upside down from a tree and then stole my stuff! I swear I'll get my stuff back eventually!

Tock: HES BIG AND SCARY. First off he almost flattened me with a tree, THEN he tried to use me as bait for some big fish with teeth! UGH

Some pirate guy ( Jake): HES THE ONE WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO USE ME AS BAIT. He scares me and had an ax too. Come to think of it, hes the reason why Tock started to cut the tree I was in down.

First Task
While playing in the water one day you discover something shiny. What is it, and do you share it with the others or keep it for yourself? How did it get there?

Had he seen correctly? He wasn’t too sure, but it was certainly something that didn’t seem right. He sat at the edge of the river, staring down into the watery depths, eyes locked onto an object that shown brightly from the bottom. He just didn’t have the luck to find something this special, and just that thought kept him glued to the shore, staring in wonder.

He let out a huff of air before taking his eyes off of the object, glancing around the river’s edge for anyone who may have dropped it. But of course no one was around, but he was very close to the hut, perhaps someone there would claim it? But then again, some kids would just claim it was theirs in order to have it.

With another huff, and throwing caution to the wind, Trystan finally waded into the water. Bending at the waist, he scooped the shiny object, a stone, and a good handful of dirt out of the water, eyeing it with interest. The stone was new to him, the colours and smoothness was new, and certainly something he didn’t see everyday. He took hold of it in his other hand and held it in the water, letting the flowing river wash off the dirt. It was a very nice stone, and with that thought he placed it into the pocket of his shorts. But now to the shiny thing.

Bending down yet again, he held the shiny into the water, letting the river wash away the dirt before straightening up to get a good look. It was round and golden with the picture of some person on the front of it, and after flipping it over he noticed the picture was on the back as well. If he didn’t know any better, he would say it was a gold coin. His eyes widened slightly as he flipped it around in his palm a few more times. He personally had no idea what use it was to him, but he had heard the older kids talking of such things and that pirates tended to steal them. Booty and what not it was called.

Trystan looked upstream then down stream, as if doing so would give some tale to the coin’s origin. Perhaps it had been dropped by someone while they were playing in the water? Perhaps, perhaps not, either way he needed to ask one of the older kids about it, or at least give it to one of them, maybe that would give him some answers. After all, he didn’t have any use for the thing.

With a nod and a smile, he placed the coin into his pocket, along side of the stone he had found as well. A quick shake of his hands and he waded out of the water, tugging his shoes back on over his slippery feet. Another quick look around and he took off toward the hut, new found items in tow.

He had been napping peacefully in his hammock, so much so that the constant noise in the treehut had been tuned out from his mind. That was until he found himself flat on his back, head and butt both throbbing from hitting the floor. What had happened exactly, well Trystan certainly would have liked to know himself.

He gazed up at his hammock which was now hanging down from one of its post. Apparently the other end had come loose, that or had just snapped from its age and the constant weight of children on it. He huffed angrily, pushing himself up from the floor, grabbing the end of the hammock that was broken. He sighed as he looked over the frayed rope, poking at it a bit while he thought.

He could either leave it be and go find another place to sleep, letting someone else take care of it, or he could fix it. Being the boy he is, he decided to fix it himself, letting go of the rope and walking off to find some more to replace it with. After a bit of wandering and a bit of shifting through some things, he finally found a piece of strong rope, smiling in triumph.

He made his way back to the hammock, ignoring the calls from other children to come play or their questions of what he was up to. He had work to do and a nap to get back to, no time for games. He stared at the frayed end of the old rope, letting out a small huff of air as he rubbed the back of his throbbing head.

He snatched the frayed rope, tugging it up as he realized that it was heavier than he expected with the hammock attached to it. He grunted, letting it fall back to the ground. He needed to have his hands free in order to tie it correctly, obviously. So he plopped down on his bottom, pulling the frayed end of the hammock into his lap and began to tie the new rope onto it. A few good knots and he deemed it safe for use.

He pushed himself back up, tugging the now fixed hammock along with him to the wall. He glared at the peg in the wall and its height, pushing himself onto his tiptoes in order to reach it and tie the rope correctly. A few more good knots and he let go, stepping back to admire his work.

" There," he said, finally breaking his silence," it should be fixed now." He sighed, pulling himself up into the hammock gingerly, testing his weight on the new knots. A few good pushes and the hammock still hung from the wall. He grinned, pulling himself all the way into the hammock and curling back up to rest.

His mind dabbled on the idea of maybe checking all of the other hammocks in the treehut for repairs, but the thought was tossed aside as he finally fell back asleep.
