As he fled he was distracted by a pile of dirt that looked oddly out of place. Not watching where he was going, he tripped as he so often did, and tumbled straight into another bigger mound. He quickly scrambled out from under the dirt heap and spit out the soil in his mouth. When he got back to his senses, Percy wiped his mouth and was struck by the sudden realisation that what he had spit out was a cabbage leaf, lying innocently on the ground.

Trystan had been on a search of his own, jumping from tree branch to tree branch on his way to the area where the elusive 'cabbages' may be. But he had been so rudely/ interupted by some wild screaming. Apparently it had come from this boy, and after containing the laughter he had after watching the other fall on his own face, he finally felt it was safe to talk.
" Hey!" Trystan called from above. He gazed down at the other boy from a safe distance in a tree, a brow arched in question. " What are you doing?"

Percy startled and looked around for the source of the voice. He froze at the shadowy figure in the tree.
"Wha-what am I doing?" He started nervously, he wasn't about to tell this totall stranger he was running for his life, "well, you see, the boss wanted me to look for..."
"Wait a sec, aren't you one of those tree brats?" Percy finally caught a glimpse of the boy through the dim light, "in that case, I'm doing nothing actually."
He wasn't going give away any clues to a tree brat, but perhaps it was Percy who would need the help?

" And aren't you one of those sea brats?" He had gotten tired of being called 'tree brat' by several pirates without having some sort of a comeback, so he came up with one of his own. It was very clever mind you.
The other's sudden change in attitude made Trystan's brow arch higher out of suspicion. " Nothing? And why did nothing bring you allll the way out here, hm?" He had his guesses as to why the other was here, but he hated making assumptions, for it always got him in trouble. That, and maybe this kid knew the girl who stole his things!
It was hard for him to let go of a grudge...

Sea brat?! Thought Percy. While it sounded annoying at first, it wasn't half bad, it was better than being called a coward.
He wanted to get out of this situation and continue looking for the cabbages now that he had a clue. Well, a leaf wasn't much of a clue, but Percy tried to hide it with his foot anyway.
"Like I said, the boss wanted us to find nothing...I meant something," he said as he tried to bury the cabbage leaf in the loose soil.
"Anyway, since I found you, why don't you act like a good tree brat and give me whatever valuables you have?"
Percy hoped this would scare the boy off, and if he was lucky, he might get some loot for the captain.

After some delay, a scowling Dion returned to the Treehut at a brisk pace, kicking up dust in silent disgruntlement. His skinny arms were still clutching his amateurish trap, which was looking rather worse for the wear with a few wooden slats swinging free of their rope ties.
As the blonde boy came upon the dialogue, he paused a safe five feet from Percy. A few seconds of appraisal later, he positively beamed, first up at Trystan in the tree, then at the pirate. Intimidating--or just plain ol' tormenting--pirates always did wonders for his mood.
"Hi!" Dion called cheerfully treewards to Trystan. Then, to Percy, he spoke amiably, pointedly mindless of the threats, "Oh, so it's you again. Good to see you've outrun anything big and green and hungry." Whether he meant Tock or the "cabbages" is up for debate. "Well, so far, at least."

Trystan only glared at the other boy in response. He learned not to carry valuables on his person after the other pirate girl stole his things a while back. and so he kept everything at home in the hut.
Before he could think up some nasty comeback he heard another boy come up to them. His eyes darted to the blonde boy and a sly grin crawled across his face. The tables had turned on the sea brat it seemed.
He nodded his head in greeting to the other boy before dropping down from the tree branch, serious business face on. He let the other boy do the talking for now, for it seemed he knew the sea brat from a past experience.

Percy put on his bravest smile and laughed akwardly, "I have no idea what you're talking about," he sounded stupid. Actually, running away from his own captain was stupid, but Tock always managed to scare him one way or another.
Green or hungry were the least of his worries at the moment. He was outnumbered and he needed to make a quick escape if he wanted to continue his search for the cabbages. Honestly, one tree brat was already more than Percy could handle.
"Well, if you'll excuse me," he said slowly as he made sure the cabbage leaf was hidden and looked for an escape route.
"I've got a head start you two haven't," Percy said with confidence, "so I'll be off now to look for the cabba..."
Damn! Stupid slip of the tongue!
