Hungry, the teal lioness had led herself out of the save walls of her home, off to try and find something of a meal. She had thinned out a bit, taking more care of her daughters than herself lately. Even though they had grown, they were still around and probably needed help every once in a while. It was true that once you were a mother, you always were until your dying day.
Wherever Bakari had gone off, she had slowly started to give up. Looking at Konya gave her head a tug, but she needed to move on with her life. If he happened to stroll up with that normal grin on his face, she would be happy, but for now she needed to help out her family and pride.
Humming to herself softly, she peered through the jungle that swarmed around her home. Where was some good food around here? She didn't want to go out to the open savannah, but at this pace she might just have to.

Bored out of his mind, the god had found himself lost in a jungle. Sure, he could have just stretched out his wings and flown out of it, but then he would have had to drop his illusion. And it was quite interesting to play an old scraggly lion that no one liked to look at.
His ears perked up as he saw another lioness slink through the jungle. He had thought that it was abandoned, so he was quite surprised. She was a little thin, but her coat proved that she lived here, and mildly healthily, as well.
"Oh, miss?" he called out to her. He was more interested in knowing if there was a pride here than really bothering her. The way she carried herself...she wouldn't be any fun.

Latifu heard a voice call out to her, and her ears perked up as she tried to look for the source of that voice. It took her a bit, as the lioness wasn't as interested in socializing as she was in just finding a good meal to eat and then go back home. Her eyes finally caught sight of the other lion.
Ugh, gross! It looked like he hadn't eaten in a while, but that coat! It looked like he hadn't bathed himself in moonturns, maybe even longer. Was she going to have to actually talk to him?
The lioness grumbled, irritated at this. She'd play nice to show that her pride was full of honor and nice to outsiders, as long as they were nice back. She gulped before replying. "Y-yes? Can I help you?"

Dath did his best to not laugh at the lioness. Oh, the reactions that he got from this illusion! It was always so surprising to see how differently mortals would take the form. In this way, he was sort of playing with them as he gave them something and someone that didn't actually exist. It entertained him for a time until he felt that bloodlust again. That was getting more troublesome, as he was trying to keep himself out of the sights of his sister, the only real force that he would be nervous of. Everything else? Screw that!
Back to the situation at hand, though.
"Aaaah, yes," he said in a shakey voice. "I was wondering where you came from?" It was an awkward question, and would certainly confuse the lioness for a moment. He felt like a cub again, hiding under stuff to startle others, but it was so much fun he couldn't help himself. Everything was better when his sister wasn't next to him, haunting him over his shoulder.

"Where....I came from?" That was the single most odd question that the lioness had ever gotten before. Where did she come from? From her mother, of course! Even if she didn't know who or what her mother looked like, she knew enough that she wasn't that dumb.
"I hope you mean where I live," she said with a snort. She didn't see why she had to be overly nice to him, so here she was. Just giving it to him straight. "If so, there is a pride around here, yes." She didn't know how much information she should give away. While the pride was always loving, they did live in a protected region for a reason, and inviting someone that looked like that....might not be such a smart idea. If he demanded, she could always fetch one of the priests to check him out. She was only a huntress, so she could probably get out of it before it turned into any bit of trouble.

What a fool. What else would he mean? He snorted, and kept up the act since he couldn't help but show a bit of disappointment for her not understanding what he meant. Was he supposed to dumb it down for her? Mortals were proving more and more each day that they were very stupid, and lost without gods.
"Of course that's what I meant," he said, letting a very hyena-like chuckle escape his throat. "You couldn't be living alone looking like that." No one could look that good if they were on their own. Lions just didn't live by themselves, and if so, not well. He made sure of that with any that he came across. Life was a game, and he was the game master.
"Can you tell me where it is?" he asked, swishing his tail behind him with one eyebrow raised. Let's seee if she'd betray that to him...

The lioness shook her head. "I can't directly." It was suspicious just how he was pressing the matter. With the way he looked, he might have never lived in a pride his whole life. So why would he all of a sudden be asking about one?
"I can ask the elders to escourt you there if you'd like..." she said quietly. This was going to ruin her plans of hunting, as the good herds might be leaving the jungle and goig out to feed, and it was harder when there was so much open land, especially on her own.
"Would you like that?" she asked, growing a little nervous with the weird old lion. Maybe he wanted a pride because he looked so old and frail, but the way that he was asking wasn't winning him any sort of brownie points.

The lion laughed at the little teal lioness. So she had to ask to even say anything? That almost sounded like his kind of pride! He had no intentions to actually go in, but he was obviously making her quite stressed with the idea, and in that was where he was getting his entertainment.
Not quite paying attention to himself, though, a bit of his illusion faded for a moment. The tip of his wings and horn flickered for a moment before they hid back underneath the illusion. Dath hadn't quite noticed, so he didn't assume that anything was wrong.
"Name, please?" he asked. It was always just as humerous how easily mortals gave away themselves with just a name. A name was a way to find them again, and quite quickly if they had a unique image. And she certainly had at least the latter.
He only guessed something was wrong when he saw the look on her face. Huh?

Latifu had learned to notice everything when she had been living on her own. So the quick flicker of something around the old lion nearly took her breathe away. What was that? Was there something around here? Or was it merely her eyes playing tricks on her? She couldn't help but stare at him, sure that she saw something. Judging by his reaction, he either felt something, or she was making him nervous with the way that she was looking at him now.
"What...was that?" she whispered as she looked at him. A bit of fear clutched at her heart, but she was praying to the gods that it was something odd. Maybe a new bug she hadn't seen before, or some sort of weird reflection from the sun. Her muscles grew tight as she wondered if she should just leave now. He was being a bit strange to her, almost making her uncomfortable. She did need to hunt, but she would rather chose saftey than a full stomache. Sure, her daughters might complain a bit that they might not have a meal tonight, but if she was lucky she might be able to get the something from someone else that went hunting today. That, or she would go out again, just not alone.
She grew more nervous as the silence grew. Did he know? Or was he hiding something?

"What was what?" He was having a bit more difficulting keeping up this facade. What the hell had happened to spook her so much? He was going to be furious if someone else had decided to ruin his fun. It wasn't like he was attacking her or anything! He just was making her uneasy in the lands that she lived in. Wasn't that harmless enough? It'd toughen up the stupid female a bit!
He looked behind himself, keeping his growl from producing noise. Nothing. His eyes couldn't see a single thing. So what the hell had spooked her so much that she seemed petrified now?
He heard another noise, and turned back to her with a quizzical look on his face. "What?" He was getting tired of this, especially if it was just some stupid game the lioness was playing on him.

What was he, a fool? Didn't he know what was happening? She stared at him again, fear mixed with defiance. She wasn't some stupid lioness that bumbled around having her mate do everything for her. He had disappeared, and she had to be independent like she was before she had come here. So to act like this infuriated her! The fact that what he looked like underneath was what brought in the fear.
"A-are you some...some sort of god? A demon? You are not what you look to be, what you act to be!" There, she had said it, but she had taken one step backwards as she spoke. What if he decided to attack her? She would have to run as fast as she possibly could, back hom to the saftey of the two walls. No way was she going to stay and fight that thing. She wasn't that foolish, and had no one to prove anything to with a wasted death.

So his illusion had dropped some now, and bits of him had passed through, able for the mortal to see. Well, that sucked. His game was pretty much over now, wasn't it? He watched the mortal, obviously mixed in her feelings. "s**t." He didn't really know what to do now. Chase her off, or try to write it off as no big deal? With the way that she was acting, he didn't think that she would really work with it well if he tried to come off as a joke. SO chasing her off seemed like to correct choice for now.
He growled slightly, feigning a lunge at her. If she was smart enough, she'd run off before he really had to do some sort of damage to her. He wasn't craving blood, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't be willing to spill some on the ground for the sake of just doing it.

Latifu was started when he pretty much admitted it. No way! Here she was, talking to a god! His colour didn't look like he meant well, though. The colour reminded her of something that did not settle well within her mind. She struggled to keep her wits about her, hoping that she wouldn't misjudge him and end up dead.
Once he initiated an attack, though, Latifu spun around and darted through the trees. She didn't bother to look back to see if he was following, as it would probably would have slowed her down, and that was the last thing that she wanted right now. She slid through the trees like water slid on the ground, knowing each tree, each bush, each area that would get her closer to home. Once she reached the rock wall that protected the pride, she slid in it quickly, pausing just short of entering to calm herself. There was no need to startle anyone that would see her that something was wrong; he would probably leave since she had escaped him. She would go hungry tonight, but have another day to see her daughters.

Feh. Crazy lioness actually fled like her life depended on it. If she had bothered to look behind her, she would have noticed that he had no thought of chasing her. For one, it would be too damn hard to navigate this forest with his wings, and another that he didn't feel like running after something he didn't care about.
"Stupid," he grumbled, glaring at the ground as if it was at fault for his illusion fading. This wasn't good, not at all. He would have to go test his powers for himself somewhere. He needed no distractions, meaning it would be difficult to find the right place, but it had to be done.
With a swish of his tail and a few steps, he disappeard again in his black fire illusion. At least that hadn't failed him yet.
