"I made them come here to help you, Rex." An old woman whispered, her mind fading from her grasp. "I wanted to restore Bixby to it's former glory, like my day."
"That Bixby was a nightmare, Maddy." The boy, Rex, said. He looked out the window, missing Melissa already. The midnight hour was slowly heading to it's finishing point of the night. Johnathan must be going crazy, considering Jessica was saying good-bye to her sister, Beth.
Maddy didn't respond. She merely laid down, and then asked,
"So Melissa's leaving?"
"Yah," Rex said. "She is, and she's taking Johnathan and Jessica with her. Dess, and I are staying here, though."

Melissa, Johnathan, and Jessica are heading out of Bixby, Oklahoma in search of more midnighters across the world. Dess has predicted that there will be about 100,000 midnighters to find all around the world, trapped in the blue time or secret hour. We are the new midnighters, finding out, for the first time, what the blue time is and what could happen to us. This takes place in the town of New York. Jessica, Johnathan, and Melissa are here, searching for us and possible darklings.

Stuff to Know
Midnighters: People with special abilities in a secret hour every night. Some of these powers go into daylight time as well. Most of the midnighter's eyes glow a purple color in the light of the dark moon. The flame-bringer's won't glow at all, though. In the daylight, most midnighters need to wear sunglasses.
Secret hour: Also called the blue time, or midnight hour. In the midnight hour, the special abilities are at their highest point of power. In this one hour everyday, time freezes for everyone except the midnighters.
Darklings: These are the ancient beings who created the secret hour, so they'd be safe from humans. What they didn't count on was the midnighters. They are afraid of new, un-rusted metal, thirteen and multiples of thirteen, fire and light, and mathematics. They thrive on the number twelve, and old technology. they are all predators who feed on humans.
Mind-caster: These are people who taste the minds of others. They spread their mind across the city, country, whatever, and read people thoughts by how they taste. This ability also goes into daylight time, and you can't stop mind-casting unless you learn to accept touching someone close to you. Melissa is a mind-caster.
Seer: These are people who see what midnight has touched. They specialize in the history of darklings or lore as it is called. This also goes into daylight time. Rex is a seer.
Polymath: Polymaths are extremely smart and educated in mostly math. They use math to their advantage, and to help their group of friends. They were just naturally given the ability to do math extremely well. This also goes into the daylight. Dess is a polymath.
Acrobat: Acrobats can "fly" by jumping and maintaining their momentum in the air. They can travel great distances in minutes. They have a special kind of gravity to only them or people touching them in the midnight hour. It is called midnight gravity. This cool ability, unfortunately, doesn't go into the daylight. Johnathan is the acrobat of the original group.
Flame-bringer: This is the person who is able to bring fire and technology into the blue time. They are a darkling's worst enemy. This power doesn't go into the daylight either. Jessica is the flame-bringer of the first group.

Short Bio: Linda grew up in a bad part of Boston, with a family that was hardly home durring the day. She'd play everyday with her best friend, Dustin. When she told him that she had to move to New York though, he asked to see her in secret later that night. They did at 11:57 and met up at their favorite park, staying on the merry-go-round like always. Linda had always liked Dustin more than her other friends. Just as he was about to tell her something, she pointed out that the area seemed... blue. It was a very light blue but still there. She wanted to head home, thinking it was caused from sleep problems. On the day Linda moved, she found out that Dustin snuck onto the truck and has been keepign him secretly in the house.
Personality: Sweet, kind, and rather loud. Tends to be oblivous to most things. Loves to sing and be a spazz. Linda is also a bit of a pushover.

A few monthes ago Dustin caught word that this special friend was moving to New York and sought the chance to tell them his feelings. They were at a park when he was going to say how he felt until they noticed something was wrong. Everything seemed to have a blue tint and came to a stop except for them. They both headed home, thinking it was from tired ness. Dustin also secretly snuck onto the friends' moving truck.
Personality: Fairly blunt, sarcastic and a bit rude to most. Kikyo sighed and laid down on her bed. The moon was out and midnight was almost at hand. She had been hearing more things than usual today at school, but thought nothing of it. She glanced at her clock. 11:59 pm. is what the glowing numbers said. She knew that sleep would never come tonight, especially knowing that she overheard EVERYTHING anyone at school said, even if they weren't near her.
Maybe... She thought, closing her eyes. Maybe I'm crazy after all... She finished, as all other sound ceased. The cars below her window stopped honking, and Kikyo's eyes flew open. She bolted up right in bed and saw a bluish tint all around her.
"What on earth?!" She exclaimed, somehow knowing that her mom and dad wouldn't hear. She took this chance to sneak out, by opening the window quietly and silently dropping to the ground. Her sneakers slapped softly on the sidewalk, as she wandered around this now frozen New York City.

Rin sat in her room staring at the clock. Shje coudn't wait for midnight and the peace it would bring her. Slowly and careful she began to reach out to find others when midnight came.

"Funny." Kikyo muttered to herself. "New York City is actually quiet." She smirked at her own little joke, and stretched her mind across the city, trying to find anyone else experiencing the exciting new blue time.

"Linda! Did you get us lost again? I thought you said you knew were your house was!" Dustin was walking along side Linda, his best friend and secret love interest. His ancient 24 hour watch struck 00, as he let out his own sigh. "If we get caught coming back at this time we're screwed, you know that right?"
"Of course I do~! And we aren't lost!! Just a little.. off the beaten path. C'mon Dustin, I know it's in this block somewhere." Linda grinned up at Dustin, trying to keep his temper down. "If we get caught, I'll take the blame for it, okay? I can't let my bestest buddy get in trouble that I caused!" She clung to Dustin's arm for a moment before running up ahead, taking a right.
How on earth did I fall for her again? I guess it's a mystery... "Linda! Don't run ahead like that! You don't know what kind of bum could be laying around!" Dustin chased after her, not paying attention to the light blue haze thickening around them.

Kikyo was walking through a set of bushes and collided with a girl running as fast as she could.
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!" Kikyo said, reaching her hand down to help the girl up. She noticed that the girl had blondish hair and blue eyes, and was wearing a pink sweater. That's when Kikyo noticed the flame patterned shoes coming, and looked up. Instantly she saw Dustin's face and she looked back down at Linda's. "I'm really sorry about knocking you over."

Linda just laughed. For a moment, she thought some drunken git had just knocked her over. She accepted the girls' offer of help and didn't bother to try and rub the dirt and dust off her clothes "It's fine, happens all the time. I'm Linda. But uh... Can I ask what you're doing out this late?"
"Linda! What. Are. You. Doing?!? Do you even know this person?!" Dustin stood there, with a serious look plastered on his face. He was in no mood to get into some argument.
"Oooh Dustin, don't be rude! Say hello to the nice lady! Gosh, I know you grew up in the gettho but were on Earth are your manners?" Linda had turned to face her best friend, trying to haggle some 'reason' into him. "And say Hi to the blue stuff around us while you're at it!" Linda just now took in the light blue haze around them, not really hearing what she even said.
