Kega's tail swishe on the dirt. Her blindfulled covered her eyes and she laid on the hot rocks the heat rumbling threw her blood. She felt warm as her wings pressed up and down the rips having much pain at the moment for no reaosn. She was in a half dream state as the sun beated down on her, her white fur glistening.

Stretching out in the welcoming sun, Gethin inhaled deeply. He loved the heat of the West (not so much as the sunlight, but alas they came hand in hand). Amber eyes flickered about, landing on the form of Kega. Was she asleep? Smiling softly to himself, he slowly picked himself up as he walked towards her way.

Kega's fur rustled in the wind drifting her leaders scent. She twitched a bit and opened her eyes of course no one be able to see her eyes opened. Kega stretched out her front paws and caught the edge of the stone. She yanked herself up with that and shook her fur.

Gethin smiled lightly, approaching now he knew he would not be the cause of her awakening. "Did you sleep well?" A small idea had formed in his head some time ago, and he had been mulling over whether to ask her or not...

Kega curled her tail around her legs. But then finally when she heard someone's voice, familiar, she puled herself to were her hind legs were holding herself up but her paws were layed out. " I slept... okay..." She said with a light smile. Her fur was baking and she loved the warmth. Just like him she had a question of her own.

"That is good." Gethin paused lightly, lost in his thoughts once again. He smiled faintly, inhaling sharply as he gathered his courage. "Kega, would you..." He could do this, he could do this! "...like to join me on patrol, around the territory..?" Coward.. He mentally sighed, cursing himself for such cowardice.

Kega unable to see him could not see his face. She would not be able to tell what he was really trying to say. " Sure... Of course my leader..." She siad in a kind voice. Be respectible and maybe just maybe he will do you this one favor. There was no reason why he wouldn't but still. Why not. Of course he would let her see the world. Of course...

Gethin smiled, relieved though he knew she would agree. He padded closer, giving her shoulder a small affectionate nudge. Slowly, he started to walk off, glancing over his shoulder at Kega as he waited. Perhaps, one day he could actually admit... That even the darkness could fall..

Kega slightly snickered. It was only hearable to her maybe it was a snort. She heard his foot steps and what way it was going and she jumped off. She was actually able to catch herself. She took one step caught his scent and followed after. How did she know that something was different? He had changed the past few moons and she knew it. Maybe one day she would know she needed someone to protect her and help her.

Gethin, seeing that Kega caught up, continued to walk. Though it was aimless, and more or less a fill for him to keep to his thoughts. "The sun feels nice today." He remarked, though more under his breath.

" Well I can't see it.. " She muttered. That was unexpected even to her. She stopped and said " Oops... I'm sorry...." She cooed. She felt so bad. She did not mean to say that. Now though they would get into this conversation. Now she might be set free from her personal prison.

Gethin paused, glancing at Kega over his shoulder. Even he had been taken back by the statement. The rememberance of his encounter with Ashi made his stomach writhe in anger. He had done this to his Kega. "Kega..." He sighed softly, glancing up at the sky for some sort of strength before back down at the white and red helix. "Tell me... Do you remember why you wear such a blind?" A small shred of curiousity started to crawl up in him. Was she truely blind underneath the blindfold?

The question took Kega by suprised. Why? She didn't remember her childhood much at all. She doesn't remember seeing anything anymore. she sighed and then said " No, That Ashi attacked me but... I don't think that did anything to my eyes. So why is a mystery... " She sighed again and looked at the stars.

Questions pushed at his mind, begging to be asked. Perhaps it was that curious nature in his, that strove to learn all the knowledge that he could. Gethin sighed softly, feeling useless for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. "Is... something on your mind?" He asked lightly.

" Why would you say that? " She stuttered a bit. Would she not be able to bring the thought to her lips and let herself stay blind. How horrible it would be to live with this now hopeful feeling building in her chest.
