Thus Far...
PostPosted: Fri Dec 12, 2008 11:25 pm

Far from any towns or inhabited fortresses under control of the current monarchy, exists the village of Glenyore. A small village with little to no contact to the outside world, it's fairly boring, everyone knows everyone else's business and strangers are viewed one of two ways; a way to marry off children and in new blood, or harbingers of bad luck. As such, villagers are Very superstitious, in fact, their faith in these old remedies is so strong, it effects the very world they live in.

Lately though, a wave of people have come into Glenyore and set up their own, new little lives. The council of village elders isn't sure what to think of this influx, but for now they are allowing new neighbors. The elders main concern is that this new flood of man wil disrupt the balance they have created with the magic creatures around them. Many of the new villagers believe the natives to be foolish and wander aimlessly (and rudely) through the forest and ignore long standing traditions and treaties, causing them to become targets of humans and supernatural beings alike.

This is a long term RP, almost like a second life, so I would prefer fairly constant activity, if you need to be away for a while, PM me so I can KO your character or have them kidnapped.

To start off I would like no more than:

2 were-creatures (Wolf, Cat, Lizard etc...)
3-5 Fae (pixies, fairies, shape-shifters)
1 banshee
1 Vampire
3 magic users (warlocks, witches, sorcerers etc...)

After we get a few more active players we can add some more of each group. No limit on humans, and I'd actually like to have just a couple basic humans for kicks. Multiple characters are fine, cross-gender playing is fine too, just PM the profile to me for each character.

Basic rules

I would like it if you listened to myself and akumu_no_koinu, it ensures things run smoothly. Follow the ToS, Guild Rules, and common sense.

Please try not to curse or use particularly vulgar language unless it is in character. And even then, try to be creative and match up with what we associate with olde English insults.

Speaking of language, Be semi-literate to literate! Don't forget to use capitalization and periods, question marks, and exclamation points. Grammar is your friend. Also, I don’t care how long the post is as long as it’s more than a paragraph of non dialougue. That's really not to long, five to seven sentances.

Please use font 9 - 12, nothing smaller OR bigger And please try not to stretch the page. Don't write in extremely bright colors like yellow or pale colors like linen.

As for romance, relationships don't happen in a day, they take time. And ladies, if you'd like to have more than one suitor at a time that's fine too. Not to mention appropriate for the time period we're using. Keep everything PG-15, think of all the classic movies you know of with the slowly evolving love story about a girl torn between two guys or a guy between two girls. Heck, reference Twilight if need be (though I'd rather you didn't).

Pleae check the first page on a regular basis!

Her father always tried to turn Istas into the perfect daughter, so that one day she could be the perfect wife, get married and have kids; Istas had a different idea of what she wanted to be. Istas loved to rough house with the boys, and was only ever beaten once, by a boy she can't remember the name or face of, but she does know that if she were to find him again she would probably fall in love. The local defender of the village took a large interest in Istas when she was ten, and asked her father if he could take Istas with him; her father was ecstatic, thinking that the defender wanted to marry his daughter, but the dream was dashed when the defender started to train Istas to take the position of defender.

Now Istas guards the city just as her master did before her, of course the defender does a lot more than look after the village, they have to look after the mystical creatures that surround the village as well. This has led Istas to develop a bit of a relationship with all of the people and creatures of Glenyore, maybe not a friendly one but a working relationship at the least.

KudaKitsuneRikku
Gaianame:KudaKitsuneRikku
Character name: Lenore Taylor
Age: 22
Species: Fae
Village: Native
Job: Seamstress/tailor
Weapons: razor sharp thread, thinner and stronger than spider silk and imbued with magic
Abilities: Illusionary magic, small creature summoning, mischief magic
Personality: Kind, protective, stubborn, vindictive, morbid
Likes: Spiders, Snakes, Wolves, Foxes

Lenore belongs to a clan of Fae who were indebted to a tailor. For many years, her family helped the little old man in his business making dresses, trousers and all sorts of clothing. The village knows the shop has always been run by fae, but the quality of clothing was always better than anything from a city because it was made with magic. When the old man died, he left the shop to the Fae, though none but Lenore and her father wanted the place.
For the most part, Lenore is a very accepted part of the village as the villagers go to her for their clothing and/or cloth. And while she does look like most humans, and acts like most humans, she is not. Her attraction to animals normally seen as 'evil' makes most of the villagers watch their step around her, as she does have a vengeful streak in her, like most fae, and has been known to spoil a crop of someone who's late to pay her. She's also blinded a woman who beat her children and dished out a bit of payback for spurned lovers and wives. Once she gave a wicked case of the runs to a man who laughed at her when she told him of her feelings.

Silver 0pal

Gaianame:Silver 0pal
Character name: Luxor WhiteMane
Age: 22 (Look to be about 30)
Species: Qualmi (werelynxes)
Village: Forest Inhabitant
Job: Liaison
Abilities: Parkour, Regenerate, Snow Blend
Forms: Homid, Sakto, Crinos, Chatro, Feline
Personality: Stern, Proud, Quizzical, Young at Heart.
Likes:The Fae, Snow, Felines, Lupine
Dislikes:Newcomers, Change, Those Against the Forest
BriefBio: Lex started out as a Lynx rather than a human. He spent his early years playing with the children of the village when they visited the forest. He wasn't allowed into town then as it was against the forest at that point. Being the feline he was Lex was very interested in that which he could not do. So of coarse he would get as close as possible with actually being in the village. This made good fun for the children there because he would chase them right up to the border in there games of chase. As time passed and the children grew older and had children of their own, Lex stayed the same spry little Lynx he had always been. He didn't have a reason to grow any older so he didn't.
Then a something happened. A new smell drifted through the forest, bring with it a time of change. Suddenly Lex's elders were very interested in his interaction with the people of the village. They told him the Forest was in danger, and that he was needed to prevent what ever was to come. They told him he would need to become closer with the humans and maintain the balance that had been kept for so long. They told him he would have to become one them in part, to do so would mean the loss of his immortality, as well as a large portion of his magic. They told him he would have to go to the village and work with their guardians.
Lex had never been very interested in magic as it seemed to make the rest of the Fae incredibly lazy. As long as he was able to be in the town he didn't mind dieing at some point, immortal or not it always happens someway or another. Once it was agreed, the village sent one of their guardians that had been badly injured during a run in with some not so friendly newcomer's. The mans name was Orzo, he was a dear friend to Lex. He had watched him grow up and become strong. He had heard of Lex's decision he asked to be the one to help him.
A Fae can not simply lose it's powers, but it can share and blend it with another. humans have very little magic themselves so blending with them weakens Fae Magic. During the Ritual, Lex and Orzo were bond together into one being and given the name Luxor.
Afterwords Luxor spent the next few years learning to use his new body and mind. He trained for in the forest with those who knew Lex in the ways of Magic, and in teh Village with those that were friends of Orzo.

Time

The time period I would like to work with is the mid 18th century, about 1750's.

It is the middle of Spring at the moment, around midnight.

It is Cold, something rather odd for the time, and it is CLEAR

Istas walked outside her little house that stood on the boreder between the village of Glenyore and the large forest that surrounded it. Her long white hair was pulled back into loose pony tail but her bangs still hung down around her face; normally Istas just let her hair flow in waterfall down her back, but today she had to head out into the woods to do her rounds talking to their neighbors in the woods. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds, which had poured buckets of water on the little village the day before, and shined a brightly down her, making the few bits of metal she wore shine and sparkle.

She stretched and popped her back while she walked over the stables that held her lovely white horse, Xue; as Istas walked in to the stable, Xue called out in a cheery voice. "Good morning baby." Istas cooed, "Are you ready to head out, we have to meet with the ones in the forest." Xue just stared at Istas as if waiting for Istas to stop talking and put the saddle on her. Istas laughed as she hiked the saddle up onto Xue's back and quickly cinched it up with the ease of a pro. After the bridle was put on, Istas hiked herself up onto Xue's back and ushered them out of the stables.

"I guess we can do a quick run through the village before we head out, huh?" She asked Xue, patting the horses neck lovingly. "Lets got girl."

She moved away from her home and turned towards the village to do a quick run through just to make sure everything was as it was suppose to be, and see if anyone needed her help.

Standing on the top of her tower, Madeline watched as a white haired woman spoke to a horse that had been waiting patiently at the gate of a small stable. Although more than a hundred feet away, the words spoken were clear to her. So the people of the village are exploring again, are they? She watched the horse and rider canter towards the wall of the city before Madeline turned towards the trap door that lead down into her tower, Caer Adrieu. Climbing down to the bottom floor, she passed several servants and finally requested that one of them draw up a glass of wine for her. Sighing as she sat down, she was pleasantly surprised to see the wine already there. Then she heard a noise that was well-known to her. "Ahhhhhh, Alexandria..." Patting the head that slid onto her lap and then around her shoulders, she grinned.

A snake.

Picking up the glass of red wine, Madeline swirled it around in the glass, allowing the scent of it to crawl up her nose. Taking a small sip from the crystal, she returned her attention to the snake. A small lump sat directly in the middle of its long body. Poking it softly, it moved and she grinned, nodding to herself. "A mouse again..."

Istas and Xue made their way through the village with almost no interruptions, but a few of the elderly villagers stopped them to chat about the on goings in the village and to ask about the happenings in the woods. Of course, Istas had nothing to report on the forest seeing as how she hadn't gone to meet with any of the inhabitants, but the villagers had a lot of gossip for her. In less than an hour Istas had learned that there was a large influx of newcomers on their way to the village, and some had even arrived in the village. 'Wow, I guess I need to come into town more often.' was the only thought Istas had about that bit of information. After that, it was just random gossip about people in the village, like Mrs. Norris's grandson had been thrown in the stockades and was due to be hung later in the afternoon. She seemed to be thinking the same thought over and over again this morning.

After she had managed to drag herself away from the elderly she quickly finished her round of the village and headed back the way she came, towards the forest and the ones who lived their. She rode back up to her house and stopped, a tower laid in front of her, the home to the only vampire in the forest and near the village. It was lucky for Istas that the vampire rarely fed and the pact between her and the village said she couldn't kill her victims.

"I guess we should start with her." Istas said to Xue, who stomped her foot in the dirt. "I know, she kind of creeps me out too. But this is my job, and I do it well."

With those words of courage ringing in her head, Istas took off for the vampire's tower at full speed. They were there much faster that Xue would have liked, but Istas had her confidence wrapped around her like coat and nothing could make it disappear. Quickly, she dismounted, tied Xue to a nearby tree and walked up to the door to the tower and knocked.

"Excuse me!" Istas yelled, looking up the tower hoping to catch a glimpse of the vampire. The all of a sudden it hit her, Istas didn't know this chicks name. 'It makes sense that I don't know her name, I rarely deal with her. She hates talking to people.' She thought to herself with a bit of worry. "I'm here to do my monthly check, to make sure everything is alright!"

Some time during her ride the clouds had moved back in and cover the sky in black sheet and with the clouds came the wind, which blew Istas's bangs to the side and obscured her vision.

Lenore sat on her sewing table, legs crossed as she sewed peices of fabric together for a burial gown. A hundred tiny spiders worked furiously at the other end of the table, weaving together each section of fabric with their silken threads. some of them cliced and chittered at her, annoyance obvious, did the dead need clothes? Why din't humans simply eat their dead?

"Beacause that, dear friends is called cannibalism, and makes humans go crazy."

She tied a knot in her thread and held up the simple dress, pure white, it shimmered like morning mist and even without it's right sleeve the victim of the horrible crime would look alive and beautiful.

Part of the right sleeve seemed to float over to rest by hr knee, and she took it up, ready to start again. The spiders that had ferried it over scuttled back to their webs at the end of the table, preparing for sleep.

"Ah, poor Elenoir, the only time she gets to wear a wedding dress and it's when she's dead."

Madeline had just finished her wine when a servant came up behind her.

"Madamoisselle, a rider from glenyore has arrived." Standing up and walking briskly to the other side of the room, she wrapped the snake around her neck like a scarf before nodding to a servent who, if somewhat hastly, opened the door.

"Hello, what do you need?" She asked casually. Making sure to smile slightly, she revealed two rows of perfectly white and unusually sharp teeth. Enjoying the fact that the sunlight had moved behind the clouds, she relaxed internally, it wasn't as if it would kill her, but the sun's rays had always brought uncomfortable heat to Madeline's stone cold body. Shifting a bit, her attention was returned to the rider, waiting for an answer.

James walked though his new home restlessly. It was large and magnificent. The best money could buy. But he wanted to do something or he feared he would go mad. He got dressed in riding attire quickly, and walked out to the stable to take out one of his horses. It was a black Mare of an unknown origin, but it was fast and that was all he cared about. He saddled the horse, and rode out into the expansive grounds he had purchased.

When he had gotten to the edge of his property he kept going, not caring if he should get lost. Soon he came into town so he slowed his pace to a trot. He looked from shop to shop trying to figure out if any of them housed a tailor that he could pay to make him a new suit.

His dark eyes wandered aimlessly and his body moved with the bounce of the horse beneath him. He did not care if the townsfolk found him to snobbish, he just held his head high and kept going.

Dante walked into the Tailor shop, "Hey Elenoir, whats happening?" He asked, with a light smile. He then walked over to a chair and sat down.

Lenore stretched before hopping off of her sewing table with the shimmering white gown and hanging it up for Elenoir's family to pick up later.

"I know you've slept with every other girl in the village, but do try to remember that my name is Lenore. Not Elenoir, in case you're forgotton she's due for burial."

She walked over to a large shelf on the far wall and looked through the various bolts of cloth. Spider silk, Caterpillar silk, bolt's of conditioned flower petal linen, wool from Kelpie manes, and some not so legal animal leather. The whole Rainbow was stretched out in front of her and she ran a hand across it, dying to make something. Maybe a gag for the mayor's son...
