<The Scholar Ship>
Its an experimental program. People apply to the program, and they pick a few out of the many applicants. These students come from many countries and are put on a cruise ship. Over the course of a year, the ship travels the world and the students interact and learn on the ship.
There are a few signifigant students, who we're focusing on this trip. There are about a hundred other students, but these students will become friends and enemies, and maybe even fall in love. While they may come from different cultures and speak different languages, they all come together on the Scholar Ship.
The Scholar Ship is an actual program, I just decided to make an RP about it!

<Brief Character Sketches>
The Egyptian
A young man. The son of a politician. He travels frequently, and tries to stay out of scandal. He's very shy and quiet, but has a personal fanclub which see's him as 'tall, dark, and mysterious'. He's very intelligent, but won't open up to anyone. He likes the sea, and often sails. In his free time, he sits on the deck and just watches the ocean and thinks.
The Britain
A young woman. Very ambitious. She was very poor, but has built herself up. She got financial aid to get on the Scholar Ship. She doesn't make friends, she meets acquaintances who'll help further her in her life. She is very quiet, but vocal in her classes. She keeps to herself, but often speaks to her professors so that she can get letters of recommendation. She studies in her free time.
The American
A young woman. Raised by her grandparents, this young woman is a slacker, but naturally intelligent. The only thing she intends to do is get through college. This is only because her mother wanted her to. She makes friends easily, and tends to set aside schoolwork to spend time with them. She dislikes The Britain, but is good friends with the Italian.
The Brazilian
A young man. Very disconnected. English is his second language, and he can't speak it well. He likes video games, and has brought his Nintendo Wii on the ship. He spends most of his time in his stateroom, but comes out for lectures. He mostly orders room service, and is very much a hermit. The only person he's communicated with is the Egyptian, and they often play games together, although they barely speak to each other.
The Chinese
A young woman. Not a student on the ship. She works as a maid, and often cleans the Brazilian's room. She has met him a couple times face to face, and has a very slight crush on him. She sits in on the lectures sometimes and does the work, but doesn't have much time for it. The professors think that she should apply sometime, but she doesn't believe that she could pay for it. One professor has gone out of his way to bring her information about the Scholar Ship, but she hasn't really read it.
The Canadian
A young man. Very outgoing and happy. He speaks several languages, and is very, very enthusiastic about his studies. He works as a tutor for the students, and most of the students like him. The Britain doesn't seem to like him at all, because she thinks that he's wasting his time working with students who haven't worked hard enough for their education. He's in love with the Britain though, but won't admit it.
The Spaniard
A young man. Wishes to be a priest someday. He doesn't really converse with girls, but is very outgoing with men. He's never really confronted his sexuality, sternly reminding himself that he's straight. However, he loses his confidence around the Canadian, and is very prone to blushing. He is almost failing his classes on purpose so that he can get tutoring from the boy.
The Italian
A young woman. Her family owns a restaurant in Venice, and she is a waitress there. Her family loves food, and they all can't believe that the Italian is so skinny. She eats very little, but cooks a lot. She has an eating disorder, because she fears that people won't like her if she eats too much.

Amalia was in her stateroom. It was about eight in the morning and she had already awoken to the alarm clock. The room wasn't very big, but it was enough for her. She was used to sharing a room anyways, so it was a rather substantial space. Amalia was dressed in a pale blue t-shirt and a comfortable pair of jeans. She grabbed a black messenger back and slung it over her shoulder, making sure that it contained all her notebooks and her one recipe book. The little book was stuffed full of family recipes, and a few originals.
She looked over at the tiny little area she'd made for cooking. Maybe she'd invite someone over for dinner sometime. She slipped on her favorite pair of shoes, a pair of black flats, and stepped out the door. She double-checked that she had the card-key so she could get back into the room, then began to walk towards the lecture hall on the third floor. She held her bag to her chest, the weight of the bowl of cereal she'd had became unsettling in her stomach. She wanted to throw up, but swallowed to calm herself down.
