Soloren had never actually met a female who wasn’t smitten with the idea of him in some way or form – it was as though this female had been completely offended by his range of coloration!
It had all started off as a simple meeting; he’d noticed the butterfurred young female sitting out in the grass and staring off into the distance at something or other and therefore had made the attempt to walk right into her line of vision to earn some sort of a response; the response in question had been for her to immediately avert her gaze from him and frown.
So it had from then been time to move on to plan B – which was to do it again, though this time while approaching to start small-talk.
“Hello! Are you out here alone?” he asked amusedly, trying to seem as casual as possible. This had somehow offended the young lioness though, who had simply frowned and again looked away from him; “I’m as alone as you could possibly imagine.” She said, closing her eyes and harrumphing. Woooah, now that had been quite the cold shoulder he’d just gotten! Ouch!
However, instead of simply trailing away, he sat down and frowned towards the female… who seemed to perk up slightly at his continued concern before she looked to him (at last!).
Asteria, however, was not the least bit impressed with the coat of bright colors – they hurt her eyes, to be honest.
But following this, however…….
“Is there something you need from me?” she finally asked, brows furrowed together with confusion and ears flicking back away from him. Well, she certainly was one to be highly suspicious right off the bat – then again, he was a stranger.
“You were simply looking as though you needed a friend.” He said flatly, which seemed to not be quite the answer the female was looking for. To Aster, that was he had just given the worst possible answer ever!
“I’m waiting.” She said calmly, tail wrapped around her paws and again looking off into the distance, uninterested in the male in her company. Waiting for what? He didn’t see anybody around, but then again….. “Someone in particular?” Soloren inquired, brows lifting ever so slightly as he asked.
Aster just looked at him with a bored expression.
“My mother.”
….
………… A mother-daughter duo, mm? That seemed rather adorable in a way, but further into the thought he realized he’d be better off leaving that inquiry at just that.
Then came the awkward silence between the two, before Asteria sighed and rose to her paws. “Perhaps she’s in the other meeting place.” She decided, giving Soloren a glance and nodding her head to him some sort of silent gratitude for him just..sitting there and allowing her to share his presence.
However, as the female left he felt it best that he remained where he was and discontinue bothering her as it seemed he had been.
Though it had been a rather unfufilling meeting.
