The female padded through the forest, keeping her head high as the cold air filled her lungs. She had been meaning to explore this area for awhile now.. it being so close to her future packlands and all.
She liked the sound of that.. Her future packlands. She was going to become something, and her entire pack would be proof of such.
Sophie carried herself with pride and dignity, something she seemed to be made of. She was a strong, proud female who seemed to laugh in the face of danger, every day of her natural life.
Her maw opened in a yawn, and she couldnt help but pause midstep to finish the yawn before continuing on her way.
She lowered her nose to the earth, and sniffed for anything that could be of interest.
Unfortunately, it was promising to be a boring night.

Loopy sighed lightly as he peered around the forest. He took his time making sure that he was all alone before he smiled happily. Finally! Now that he was alone, he could finally do something that he'd been meaning to do for weeks and no one could stumble in and interrupt him! The wolf grinned... and then promptly plopped down and curled up for a quick nap. Finding some decent sleep when you had eight little mouths to feed was no easy task. He had almost dozed off when he heard someone else approuch. Loopy huffed, scowling before he opened his eyes and stood. Looked like he wasn't getting his nap just yet.

She hadn't meant to disturb anyone, she had assumed she was moving slowly and cautiously. She flicked her tail a bit, dropping her nose to the earth once more.
Finally! Something interesting.
She smiled, and followed the scent to the curled wolf that she had seemed to bother. Her voice deep, raspy and raw, she spoke.
"Hello." Her eyes gleaming, and she cocked her head. The male looked tired, but that wasnt the first thing that caught her attention.. It was the pair of 'wings' on his back, seemingly held up by sap and tree stems. How interesting..
"What..are you?"

"What am I? Well, that's not rude in the least." Loopy murmured as he stood up fully and turned his gaze to the female. "I'm a varg, just like you. Don't you know what you are?" He asked, his voice a bit gruff due to his interrupted nap. "M'Name's Loopy. No I can't fly. Yes, the feathers are held on by treesap, and yes, I know they look strange." The varg continued on, answering the three most common comments he got from people who had only just seen his wings before she could get a chance to ask or say them. "What's your name, Miss?"

She snorted rolling her eyes a bit. She was never really polite, so to say. She was kind of rude upon meeting others. It was her badgirl attitude she couldn't seem to get past.
"Well I wasnt trying to be rude, but if you want to take it that way.." She shrugged a bit.
"Not everyday you come across a wolf with.. well. Wings, be they flightless or able to carry them in the sky.." She cocked her head and flicked her tail a bit.
"Ah, so I gotta ask now.. Why do you go into such detail about yourself? I asked what you are, if you're a wolf, thats all you need to reply." She said, about him telling her about the treesap and such. It seemed so detailed for two who just met.
"My name is Sophie. Pleasure to meet you Loopy." She said with a nod of her head in greeting.

Loopy sighed, giving himself a shake before he looked back to Sophie. "I merey answered the questions I normally hear after people see me. You'd be surprised how many I get." He shrugged before smiling at her. "Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a pleasure, but nothing seems all that great to me after I've been woke from a nap." The varg stated, giving his tail a small wag. "So what brings you out here, Sophie? Trying to get a break from a noisy den?"

Noisy den? Oh boy did he have it right. Though she wasnt actually leaving because of the noise, but because she had needed a little stretch of her legs. But with the new pack being put together, and actually starting to take residence together, the wolves had begun to socializing and getting to know each other.
"You could say that." She smiled, her voice still the low growl. She always seemed to have a rough voice, though it still carried that feminine charm.
"What of you? What's your story?"

He chuckled lightly, "Seems you and I are out and about for the same reason. I was going to try and get some rest though. My mate and I have eight pups and getting a good nap is becoming close to impossible." Loopy stated happily, wagging his tail more as he stood up. "Do you have any children?" The varg added before he glanced toward the sky. The sun was still high. He hadn't been away all that long. "Or a mate?"

"A mate persay though I think that having pups with the she-wolf would actually be easier said that done." She chuckled to herself. She loved her Raya, and though they were physically incapable of producing puppies, their love was just as strong as any heterosexual couple.
"My my, eight pups." She couldnt help feel bad for the mother with eight pups with the father who had burdened her with the creatures, who would be able to leave as he got too weary.
"You paws must be quite full."

"Oh? Your mate is female as well?" Loopy asked in curiousity, his tail thumping against the ground. "You and your mate would probably be more capable of birthing pups then my mate and I would." He laughed, standing. "My mate is male. We've adopted all of our pups although sometimes I have to wonder if my mate doesn't think I've overdone it." Again the varg laughed, now in much better spirits due to the conversation's topic switch.
"Indeed they are. It's difficult to keep track of them all sometimes, but then again, some are growing up pretty quickly. I say eight pups, but only two are really still puppies. The others are adolescents and my oldest is already an adult."

She smiled, instantly liking him a bit more as she found that he too, had taken his same gender as a mate. Not many did that, it did not promote life, but something deeper in meaning. She did not need to reproduce to love.
She smiled, giving a nod. Yes, he liked boys, but males were still something she did not trust. So even though she could feel some connection to him, she did not lower her guard all that much. Not that it was very obvious she had a guard up, she was just naturally collected.
"Thats a great many. I am happy I dont have to deal with issues of the like."

Loopy shrugged, smiling warmly. "Ah, it's not too bad. Besides the youngest, most of them take care of themselves pretty well. It's kind of like having our own little pack, we just don't have anyone besides the immediate family." The varg licked at a front paw before he again looked to Sophie. "So do you ever plan on having children of your own?"

She thought about the question, and then thought a bit grimly.
"By being Alpha, my blood must run thick within the pack.. I will likely bear a litter or two. I feel that my bloodline should be strong, and adopting likely will not do that. It isnt possible."
She smiled a bit, but shook her head.
"Do I want pups now? Most certainly not. Im just grouping the pack together and we are still trying to make our way. We hardly have the room for pups at the moment."

Loopy blinked, nodding as he thought it over. "Aye, I guess you can't really continue your bloodline by adopting." He then chuckled lightly, "But adopted or not, the children would still be yours. A bloodline that just isn't really connected." The wolf sat down, his tail still wagging as he smiled up at the female. "I think starting and running a pack is a lot more difficult then raising a litter of pups so I don't blame you for not wanting pups now. But every varg should have a litter to take care of at some point. It's..... helpful." He couldn't find words to describe how happy he was that he was a father, whether an adoptive one or not. It gave life new meaning.

She grinned, unable to control herself as she did so. She loved being around mothers...even if they happened to be male. Though he was no less a mother to her, than any female she had met in her life.
"Oh adopting does wonders for your glow, Loopy. You are simply beaming right now, ya know." She smiled again, and wagged her tail as she watched him. Normally males were things to scorn.
But maybe he was just enough female that talking to him would be okay..
