. neutral What's the Deal?|:.
The Giovanni only embrace inside their family line so how on earth are we supposed to embrace anyone or accept clanless? Simple. Each mortal Faekat that enters will be considered a 'Blood Relative' therefore we are pretending that they've been related to the Giovanni Family by blood the entire time. They can either have a back story where they were connected to the family closely or they can have been related by blood but have been striking it out on their own until now. As for Clanless they too will be considered Blood Relatives but they were embraced by a different branch of the family and are joining the main family to advance their positions and learn the craft the Giovanni family is so infamous for.
Fill out the forms which will be provided below for either Mortal or Kindred and go from there! Make sure to read the info and make certain that this clan is for you. The Giovanni aren't for everyone but that's half the fun. The Giovanni make even the Nosferatu nervous, take that as you will.
As the Giovanni say: "We are a very close knit family and will always be that way. Remember that when you deal with us. We stick together"

The Giovanni are respectful, genteel and well-mannered. Affluent beyond imagination, Clan Giovanni traces its roots back to before the Renaissance, to a family of merchant princes. The clan still maintains its original home in Venice, in a thousand-year-old loggia just outside the heart of the city. No other clan makes such a spectacle of humility and propriety as does the Giovanni. And no other clan hides its blasphemous secrets as well.
According to tales whispered in Camarilla salons and Sabbat esbats, the Giovanni's money spoiled the family, and the Venetians turned to nigrimancy out of perverse boredom. Surprisingly enough, the family demonstrated a great aptitude for trafficking with the dead, and their newfound abilities caught the eye of a forgotten Antediluvian. The vampire Embraced the head of the family, Augustus Giovanni, and brought him into the world of the Damned. This particular Antediluvian, the legends say, had a profound interest in death, and the Embrace of Giovanni and his family was intended to further the vampire's knowledge of what lay beyond the wall of mortality.
The Ancient's plan worked better, albeit differently, than he'd intended. Augustus, a cutthroat and mercenary merchant, saw the opportunity to seize his doddering sire's power and did so, hunting and killing all of the Antediluvian's descendants as well. After drinking the Ancient's blood, Augustus became a member of the Third Generation and founded his own clan, the Giovanni.
Other vampires reacted in horror, and, for a century, the "Devil Kindred" Giovanni were rooted out and destroyed wherever they went. Finally, the Giovanni sat down with the newly formed Camarilla and formed a mutual truce. This truce guaranteed the Giovanni would not participate in the Jyhad and would leave other vampires to their affairs. The Giovanni agreed, thus averting the genocide they surely would have otherwise met.
Taking advantage of other vampires' lack of involvement with them, the Giovanni quietly continued to amass wealth and power, practicing their Discipline of necromancy all the while. Few believe the clan is engaging in either practice for altruistic purposes, and recent global movements by the Giovanni have many Kindred worried. With all that money and all those harvested souls, something is on the horizon; it is an ill wind that blows out of Venice.
Members of the Giovanni clan are also members of the Giovanni family, and those not Embraced often serve their Kindred relations as ghouls. This familial tie - members of the clan are related by blood twice - ensures complete loyalty on the part of the Giovanni. While concentrated primarily in Europe, the Giovanni have recently been expanding into, the world market, and the clan seems to be more prolific in recent nights.
The Giovanni Crest:
Nickname: Necromancers
Appearance: Giovanni vampires typically maintain airs of presentability and respectability. Most Giovanni, hailing as they do from the Italian branch of the clan, bear European features, including fair-to-dark complexions, dark hail and solid statures, Giovanni tend to dress well but not lavishly, preferring subtle accouterments of affluence to ostentatious displays.
Haven: Giovanni favor havens befitting their wealth. Mansions, palatial homes and well-appointed apartments suit the Giovanni best, though uncommon is the Necromancer who doesn't keep a backup haven in a sewer or graveyard. Some Giovanni involve themselves in medical power structures and make their havens in hospitals, where plenty of coyer exists and precious blood may be taken at a whim.
Background: Most Giovanni come from the ranks of the Venetian family and have spent much of their mortal lives as ghouls in service to another family member. As closely knit as the family is, rivalry and treachery are rampant among the clan, as each member tries to assert his superiority over others. Amazingly versatile for having such a finite pool from which to draw new Kindred, the Giovanni may Embrace any individual who shows particular promise, but only after a "trial period" of ghouldom known as the Proxy Kiss.
Weaknesses: The Giovanni Kiss causes excruciating pain in mortals who receive it. In fact, the bite of a Giovanni vampire often kills its mortal victim from shock before the poor soul has a chance .to die from blood loss. The Necromancers do twice as much damage as any other vampire to mortals (and only mortals) who suffer their Kiss. Thus, if the Giovanni in question took one blood point from a mortal vessel, that vessel would suffer two health levels of damage. As such, Giovanni vampires are quite likely to feed from already dead corpses or from resources like hospital blood reserves.
Organization: Giovanni clan affairs are handled in Venice, in a vast loggia colloquially known as the Mausoleum. As is to be expected, the clan has a familial structure. Incest, necrophilia, favor-currying, ancestor worship and carefully cultivated guilt riddle the family; by the time most Giovanni Kindred are Embraced, they've seen more than enough to inure them to the vagaries of undead existence. The clan's nonintervenrion in the Jyhad allows members to focus on their own vendettas and better their knowledge of Necromancy. The Giovanni Antediluvian, Augustus Giovanni, reportedly still maintains direct control over the clan, though none outside the clan is known to have seen him in the past 400 years.

Upgrades - Sylent Nyte, being her awesomely sexiful self, has agreed to do the upgrade/edits for newly embraced Clan Giovanni Vampires. Wooooooo-hooooo! ;D <3~
Giovanni Marks - It is completely optional to add Giovanni as your Kats last name when their card is updated. The Symbol would be good to have though. ;D
What we are looking for - Activity! Please be active. I understand everyone is busy with real life, I certainly am no exception, but I do try to keep the clan alive when I can so active clanmates would certainly help.
Amount of Kats admitted - We will only be accepting a max of Five Kats total, exceptions MIGHT be made but I'd say that's about good enough for embracings. A Ghoul or two is also an option. ;D FUNFUN.
What is April 4th - April 4th is still celebrated every year by the Giovanni family. Members of the family throw lavish parties, with mortals and ghouls starting things in the afternoon and Kindred joining (of course) after the sun sets. These parties aren''t for everyone: Only those who know the truth about the Giovanni are invited -- or those who are going to find out before the sun rises. April 4th is traditionally when the new family members are proposed to be the local Anziani for the Proxy Kiss and for the Embrace (or order an Embrace) as they see fit, any time of the year, but on April 4th those without Embrace privileges are permitted to press suit for the Embrace of a favored mortal or ghoul. (We will be celebrating this as a month long event instead of just a single day)

The Setting - The Giovanni always host lavish parties and this is certainly a most well known, traditional event! The Event will be hosted at The Giovanni Estate, it is not the main home for the Giovanni, which is far more grand and far better at hiding their secrets, but the estate is perfect for family gatherings. Your Kat will be arriving here for their judgement (lol). Once at the door they will be greeted by a bodygaurd, a ghouled Kat just so Kindred know, and he will be taking your invitations and allowing you access to the rest of the household and the gardens.
The Mortal Family Members -
Your basic, primal, motivation (All Giovanni have it, it doesn't have to over-take your Kats personality but you will probably be seeing a lot of it since there will be competition here) - Here's your chance to shine, your chance to make it in good with your Elders because EVERYONE knows that once you catch the eye of the big boys in the family you've got it made. No-one knows exactly what it is that the chosen are offered but they have an idea, they've heard stories and all that matters is what you've seen once the chosen return. Sure they seem to only come out at night, but who cares? They've got it made for LIFE. The finest of everything and first picks at all the really good positions. Plus they seem to have information on.. well something secret.. and you're pretty sure it's in your best interest to find that out too. You want that, you NEED that and you're going to get it come hell or high water. The Family will see what you have to offer, you have your invitation which means they're already watching you so all you need to do it take that first step. It's finally time to play with the big boys.
Your RP Prompt - Having mustered the guts to take a shot, or perhaps having tried not to swallow your own tongue in excitement at finally getting to prove yourself, you make your way to the April 4th celebration early in the morning as though you would be the first to arrive. Hey, why not get in a little schmooze time with your older relatives before the rest of the wolves came in for the kill? But sadly the feasting had already begun. The Estate far exceeded your expectations, it was formiddable and had an air of old money clinging to it tightly. The large male at the door looked dangerous, easily agitated, and likely in serious need of some vitamin D, but hey, let his mother worry about him. "This party is by Invitation Only, may I please see yours?" He growled, low and solid, his eyes narrowing as he scanned your appearance with scrutiny and took the letter offered to him with a delicateness you hadn't expected. After giving it a quick once over his demeanor changed and he seemed to relax slightly. "Very good. Have a nice evening and enjoy yourself." Making your way into the foyer you arent more than a few steps before a pair of rather strong Kats whisk you away to another section of the house. The party fades to a din as you move deeper and deeper into the bowels of the estate and are positioned before a large pair of doors which slowly open to reveal a council room. Seated before you, still as stone and almost statue-like, are the oldest and most respected members of your family. All eyes lift to view your entrance and as you are offered a seat before them you spot a very familiar face and one of the oldest, Amadeo Giovanni. He inclines his head just faintly and folds his paws upon the table as though conducting a business interview, suddenly this doesn't seem like such a cake-walk. "Welcome, young one." His voice is calm, pleasant and low like rolling thunder in the distance. "Please, tell us why you belong here at this table with us? Why it is that we should grant you the tools to become everything you desire and profoundly more?"

The Family can offer you security, money, purpose and power. They can teach you a craft that makes other clans quiver in their havens and let you in on secrets that make them, and potentially you, a force to be reckoned with. The Giovanni shut out all other clans from their workings and their gains, family first, so being part of an elite club for once seems like a pretty welcomed change. The invitation you recieved struck a cord with you, you have the skills you need to make a name for yourself now all you have to do is prove to them WHY you should be allowed to take their offer. Sure, they sent the invitation offering you a place but if you know anything it's that nothing is free in this world and especially if it's handed to you by the Giovanni. So, do you have what it takes? You're certainly about to find out.
Your RP Prompt - You naturally could not arrive early as that would entail committing suicide by walking around in broad daylight so you had to wait until the sun decided to make its way on to the other side of the world. Arriving at the Estate gave you a chill, you could practically smell the otherworld clinging to the stones here and the scent of something ancient and evil lurked just beneath the cloudy facade of decadence and wealth but it seemed to make it almost more exciting if that were possible. Approaching the door it doesn't take you hardly a minute to spy the big, bad Ghoul perched like a well groomed, though ill tempered, gargoyle guarding the family Estate. His eyes narrow, his nostrils flare, it's easy to assume he's already guessed what you are and maybe not just because you're crawling up to the party after-hours while all the other guests have already begun to dine on things you haven't touched since your unlife began. "This party is by Invitation Only." He growls low. Showing him your invitation he gives it a quick scan and a nod. "Welcome. Please, do enjoy yourself." Was that a smirk? Eh, who knows. He was a bit of a creeper anyway. As you start to make your way to the courtyard you are whisked away upstairs by a force that seems almost supernatural. It doesn't appear as though anyone is beside you and yet you can feel claws prickling your skin and a cold, vice-like grip leading you on. Arriving before a pair of large, oak doors they open inward and you are greeted by a rather well furnished, well maintained office lit by a roaring fireplace. A desk sits in the middle of the room and serves a single occupant. Instantly you are struck by the power seeping from this unknown vampire which marks him as being quite ancient.  Lillianna waited tell the doorman handed her back the invitation before she walked into the main room. She moved gracefully, elegantly towards the table. She bowed her head to the elders before taking the seat offered to her. When Amedeo Giovanni spoke it sent a chill through her entire body. Lily clasped her paws in her lap, trying to hide how badly she was shaking. It wasn't every day that she was addressed by the elders of the Giovanni family. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves before she looked up and addressed the gathered elders.1. Your Name? My name is Lillianna Sir.2. What Skills can you bring to the Giovanni that will benefit us and possibly yourself? I am well organized and I am excellent with numbers. I take great pride in doing my work quickly, but efficiently. 3. What areas of study are you best at or are most interested in become advanced at? I have always been interested in Business Management, and what better place to learn all that I can then the most successful business's today.4. The one that has stuck with me most was how the Giovanni had turned to necromancy, and was later embraced. From there the Giovanni raised in power, becoming the most feared of the clans.  Mocha wasn’t afraid as she made her way up to the doors of the estate. She confidently handed the doorman her invitation, making sure to flick back her hair and make flirty eyes with him as he checked it over. “Charmed I’m sure” she quaffed as he handed it back to her and ushered her inside.
The place was much bigger then Mocha had envisioned, however she wasn’t given much time to look around before being whisked away and set before Amadeo Giovanni himself. The speedy change of scenery had shaken her confidence a tad, but there was no way she was about to lose her cool in such a fancy place.1. Your Name?
Mocha sat down elegantly across from the male, crossing one leg over the other and placing her front paws on her knees in a dainty fashion, “Mocha” 2. What Skills can you bring to the Giovanni that will benefit us and possibly yourself? “Ooh well, let me see” she batted her eyelashes and one of her fingers made it’s way into her curly hair, twirling around aimlessly as she thought the question over, “Hmmm well I do like magic, I’d love to learn how cast spells” she bit her bottom lip as if this might help her think straight, “I think I could make a good secretary? I’m good at keeping things in order” here she glanced around “…What sort of job are you offering anyways? I hope you aren’t looking for a maid, cause if you are I’m outta here. I don’t do windows.”3. Could you teach me to pull a rabbit out of a hat!?” she leaned forward on the table suddenly excited “Or or could you teach me how to do black magic? Yeah, I’ve always fancied getting back at people who called me dumb in the past… cause I’m not dumb… my mother always said I was her special girl.” leaning back she began plaiting her hair as she waited for the next question. 4. Do you have any immediate family such as a mate or children? “My mother passed away… I don’t have any brothers or sisters” the flirty eyes returned, “Or a boyfriend” she winked at him and returned to playing with her hair. 6. What stories have you heard about our beloved family that have stuck with you since childhood? “My mother used to tell me stories about how your family always slept all day and had parties at night. Creatures of the night she called you… I wasn’t even sure you existed til I got this invitation. I’m glad you do though, I always felt a strange connection with the Giovanni in the stories somehow… though I’m sure that’s just me being silly… I’m not dumb though. Anyway Dumb is that feeling you get when you can’t feel a part of your body cause you leaned on it funny.” 7. What if those stories were true? (This can be tricky and make a big impact on how the elders view you) She grinned “I hope it’s true. I hope it’s all true. Is it true??” she sat up excited once more, “I wouldn’t be here tonight if I didn’t think it was worth the trip… I got my hair done especially for the occasion. You like?” 8. Why should we choose you? Or better yet why do you think you were chosen to be interviewed? Either way. “I’d choose me?” she smirked, “Well, that depends, do you want to see all of this everyday?” she indicated her body, wrapping her tail around herself all cutely, “I’m willing to learn… though it might take me a little longer then most. Just point me in the right direction and you can watch me go” again she winked.9. How badly do you want this? Are you sure? “Oh very much sir. I need a job and I want to be a part of this family so badly! I hope you’ll please consider me” she put on her prettiest puppy dog eyed expression, “I can be as bad as you want me to be.” A slight devious smirk appeared on her lips, completely destroying the innocent face she had hoped to portray.

Kata looked around the estate as she approached the doors and smirked a little. It had been a long time since she had been here last, and the memories of a young child easily impressed had not been dimmed by the reality she saw before her. Yes. This was the perfect place for her to set her plan in motion. Information had slowed to a small trickle in recent months, and this was the perfect place to position herself in order to gather an overflowing tide of tasty tidbits and gossip.
Shaken from her thoughts at the sound of the large males low tones she produced the invitation as if hesitant to see it out of her grasp. She watched it with hawk-like focus as he inspected it and snatched it back the minute he relaxed his gaurd, tucking it away again in some secretive pocket. Daintily she stepped over the threshold and began to glance around before being forcibly and rather roughly spirited away. She could feel her breath leave her in one huge icy gasp and she struggled a bit, dazed and confused as she watched the walls pass by quickly. What in the nine hells?
In front of the doors she had just the smallest of moments to try and gather herself before the doors opened to reveal her every dream and goal dangling just out of her reach in the form of the family's elders. Suddenly she could feel a sense of hesitation and doubt, which she very quickly did her best to banish as she took the seat that was offered, trying to appear calm and collected as she did so despite the telltale shaking of her hands.

"As I mentioned a moment ago, I am the very best in gathering little tidbits others might find useful. I'd like to make sure that I stay the best, something that you might be able to help me with."

5. Do you have any immediate family such as a mate or children?
She sighed and for a moment a look of disgust wrinkled her face. "I do, unfortunately, have two children. Both of which I want nothing to do with."
6. What stories have you heard about our beloved family that have stuck with you since childhood?
"My mother once told me," she paused to consider her words carefully, not wanting to offend, "that the most important members of the family hold odd hours and much power."
7. What if those stories were true? (This can be tricky and make a big impact on how the elders view you)
She fell silent for a long time as if deeply and carefully considering the question. "I would hope they were. Or else I fear I may have wasted my time. After all, the family is the elite of the elite -or so I was raised to believe- so something like that should be the very least of the truth."

"I am useful to you. And I always can be"
