The large courtyard is almost always in bloom, filled with gorgeous flowers and plants from across Solaria. There's also a large weeping willow, right next to a small pond, near the very edge of the courtyard. Wrapping around the courtyard is a small cobblestone walkway, and little statues of angels. Many people living in the castle come to the courtyard if they ever need a quiet place to rest.

Claude was slowly walking on the cobblestone walkway. This day was seemingly a perfect, sunny day. The birds were singing, and the whole garden was full of life at last. Not many humans were there, though, but the colorful butterflies really did make the courtyard seem quite lively. However, right now the prince couldn't tell you that even if you would have asked, because he was not paying any attention to his surroundings.

The prince was only distantly aware of that bright, refreshing sunlight that nearly blinded him if he tried to look at the sky. Claude was now wearing a cape and a crown, because he had just been at a few official ceremonies that required this outfit that showed his status. He didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that the grass and the dust on the cobblestone walkway might damage the cape. He actually looked very deeply thoughtful, so he didn't seem to be very aware of anything else besides his own thoughts when he walked around the green garden.

Today a servant woke him up early, as usual. He took care of the everyday duties and ceremonies, as usual. He ate the fancy meals that the chefs prepared for the royalty, as usual. And yet, he realized that something was lacking, as usual. This every day schedule was so unsuspenseful that the prince was getting more and more bored as his days slowly passed inside the palace. These routines were not pointless, of course. Claude just simply needed more than that. He used to travel a lot and spend more time outside. But now he was basically never leaving these safe walls of the palace.
It was not the outside world that he feared. He knew that the times weren't that peaceful right now, but that was not the reason that kept him from leaving the palace. In fact, the true reason was that he was more concerned about the outside world fearing him instead. The prince was also very much aware that he could not avoid everyone else forever.

                                                                      "Clarissa!" he called out.

Claude was also very much aware that even though he seemed to be alone, that was not the truth. In this palace you were never alone. It was obvious that the servants would appear once you simply called for them. And Clarissa was his own personal servant - and a knight - that would rarely leave his side. Claude thought that maybe she, out of all people, would have some constructive ideas that could chase away this boredom.

                                                                      User Image

Jeanne Rosa Calipresa ❀

Princess of Solaria

❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂

☥ As Jeanne and Amber returned from the town's marketplace, Jeanne walked to the courtyard, wanting to look at the flowers and roses. Jeanne stopped at the door entrance of the courtyard, reaching her hand to the knob, and opening the door quietly, as she entered the yard and closed it softly and quietly, so she wouldn't alert anyone from inside the castle or if anyone was in the yard. Jeanne looked up the sky, as it was shining bright with the sun (or moon) and walked to one of the flower beds, admiring the beauty of the flowers.

After staring and admiring the flowers, Jeanne got up and walked around the yard and then began to start dancing under the shining light of the sun (or moon). Jeanne fixed her dress a bit, before she began to dance and lifted it up a bit, so she could move her legs freely and easily. She had to tie her dress so she would move and after that, she really began to dance. The princess did the basic dances, she would do in her dance lessons, then practice the dance she was doing in class, but it required to have two people dancing it. Sadly the princess didn't have anyone to dance it with, she did only the ones that were simple of the dance. The dance she was practicing was The Sleeping Beauty, she saw the dance when she was at the age of 3 or 4, when her teacher from her first palace was dancing it with her partner and thought the dance was very beautiful and wanted to learn it. Her teacher told her it required two people to dance it and said she'll get her son to practice with her, since her son loved ballet like his parents.

In her free time in her first palace, she would try her best, making the moves perfect as possible, but couldn't do it, since the dance was a bit difficult for her. But her teacher's son would always come by to her with the dance and Jeanne would be very pleased. They practice mostly everyday and the more they practice, the more Jeanne was getting the dance and getting better at ballet. Jeanne dancing in the courtyard, skipping, jumping, and twirling around like she used to, had a sad feeling in the dance. It wasn't cheerful or much enjoyment in the dance, her partner from the other castle, is missing or possibly lost by the war and without him, Jeanne can't really do good at the dance. It was also hard to stay still and keep her balance, since she was wearing short heels and not her ballet shoes, but still tried her best to keep her balance still.

Finally getting her balance, Jeanne fell back, landing on her butt, as she heard someone yelled from the garden. She got up from her feet, fixing her dress and untied her dress and walked to the place, she heard the yell coming from. Walking around the garden, she found the source of the voice who was yelling. It was the Prince of Solaria. She stared at him with a blank expression and walked away to where she was at, practicing. "He was the source of that sound and caused me to lose balance...", Jeanne said to herself in a whisper and sat down on the grass then laid down. She sighed quietly and turned to the side, closing her eyes a bit. Even though, the Princess had a room to sleep in, it was too far and she was lazy to walk to the room and wanted to have some fresh air. The Princess was sleeping soundly and quietly, hearing nothing, but the sound of the wind, and birds chirping (if it's day). ☥

Claude did hear a sound right after he had attempted to call Clarissa. It was not a sound that a small animal would have made - it was obviously caused by a much larger creature falling on the ground. He looked around for a while until he saw a girl with a long, pink hair, who indeed looked like she would have just fallen on the ground. The prince did remember who this lady was, even though he was quite sure that they have not met properly before. She was Princess of Solaria, Jeanne Calipresa.
The prince was quite isolated from the rest of the royal family. He sees them rather often at the palace, but he is not exactly in close terms with them. It is not that Claude would not enjoy their company. It was the lack of time and the fear of these "accidents" that made him act so mysteriously. He usually spent his days all alone, and only servants would check up on him to make sure that everything is okay.

But now he smiled gently and walked towards the princess, who was acting quite casually by his standards. It was not common to see a member of the royal family to lay on the ground like a little child. He, however, didn't see this as a disgraceful act at all. It was true that he was trained to act like a perfect nobleman - or a prince. But a true gentleman is also open-minded and not as uptight as many might think.
The prince's steps were soft and elegant. He took the short cut over the perfect, green grass, but his steps didn't even appear to damage the grass at all. It was not magic, of course. The true explanation for this trick was the fact that unlike most warriors, for example, who stomped the ground with their heavy armor, the prince was simply taught to even walk properly. And of course, he needed no armor either, so he was lighter too.

"Ah. Are you hurt? I am very sorry if I startled you", the prince said softly. He looked at the princess who was now laying on the ground. Maybe she was asleep? Hopefully so, because in the worst case scenario she would have hurt her head. She didn't seem to be hurt, however. But Claude felt that it would be polite to ask.
The prince didn't know the name of the dance that the princess, who was technically his sister-in-law, had practiced earlier. The phrase "Sleeping Beauty" would have made him remember many, many memories that the time had already started to bury. They were mostly happy memories, because the tale of the Sleeping Beauty was quite closely related to his own mother's life. His mother had been quite fragile too, so he had learned that sheltered upper class women might get hurt easily. And he sincerely didn't wish anything bad to happen to his sister-in-law, not at all, even though he didn't know her very well yet.

[OOC: Lalala. I didn't notice you earlier, sorry about that.]

                                                                      User Image

Jeanne Rosa Calipresa ❀

Princess of Solaria

❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂

☥ Sleeping soundly and with the sound of the nature out the yard, she heard a voice behind her asking if she was okay. The Princess opened her eyes slowly, turning to see who it was, and seeing no other, but the Prince of Solaria. She return back to her position and in a quiet soft voice the Princess responded, though she hardly speaks to anyone other than her maid, she found it rude not to say anything when someone ask if she was okay. "No, I'm perfectly fine... It was just a little fall..", the Princess told the Prince, "Good thing, nothing broken from my body... at least.." The Princess was very calm and right, nothing from her body broke, just her balance from her dance.

The Princess slowly sat up from the grass and looked at the Prince, with a confused look. He didn't tell her that sleeping on the grass was very unladylike or not something a royal member should do, but seemed it didn't faze him. Jeanne would always sleep on the grass at times, when she was younger and her parents would scold her for about a hour or so, telling her that's not something a royal member should do. "I'm sorry... But I don't think we had a proper greeting when we arrived to this palace, Prince..", the Princess got up slowly got up, fixing her dress skirt, and taking out any grass or dirt that got on her and looked straight at the Prince with a small smile. "As you know, I am the Princess of Solaria..", said the Princess then gracefully bowed down lightly, "My name is Jeanne Rosa Calipresa. A pleasure to meet you."

(O.O.C: It's okay, I would also. hardly notice myself too, if I were you aha. Sorry for the short post, I'm using my mom's iPad and it's being a bit retarded right now and I'm a bit... Broken right now, can't think of anything good. So... yeah.. xD)

Claude chuckled. He indeed did find the habits of this princess quite entertaining. But not in a bad way, no. It was rather refreshing to meet someone who is not so uptight for a change. The etiquette that everyone had to follow inside the palace can seem to be very tiring when you have to watch it every day. The prince didn't hate the etiquette or the life in the palace, though, not at all. But it must be always refreshing to see people like Jeanne around, too.
The prince politely tried to help Jeanne to get up from the ground. He also listened to her words carefully, as he was curious to get to know the other members of the royal family a bit better.
"How very nice it is to meet you, too. I am prince Claude Johan Philipp Rosenthal," he said when it was his turn to introduce himself, and performed a slight bow. He noticed the change in the girl's behavior. She indeed seemed to try to act more ladylike now.

"And yes, it is very unfortunate that we haven't had a chance to talk before," the prince continued and smiled, while wondering which was the true side of Jeanne - the girl who was just casually sleeping on the grass not too long ago, or the lady who had just bowed gracefully in front of the prince?

"So, is this how the Solarian royalty spend their free time? They lay on the ground and watch the sky like some poor children at the countryside?" he asked. The question was clearly not very serious at all, and you could see it from his eyes that he was joking.
Unlike most people who have seen a lot, perhaps even seen even quite terrible things, Claude felt no weight on his heart. He was not the type who was bound to look depressed and sad for the rest of his life. Not even the fact that he has buried two wives among many other brides-to-be seemed to affect him in this point any more. Instead, he appeared to be a charming gentleman who posses a positive outlook on life. Or maybe it was the positive outlook on death that kept his heart so light? It could be both of the previous options, too. One will never know.

[OOC: It's fine. I understand. And, I just woke up not too long ago, so I'm not being very smart either. And yes, I just had to edit my post 3 times because I screwed up so much.]

                                                                      User Image

Jeanne Rosa Calipresa ❀

Princess of Solaria

❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂

☥After her introduction to the Claude, Jeanne straighten up from her bow and listened to Claude introducing himself. Her small smile was still in her face as he finished introducing himself and tried to disappear the smile on her without the Prince to notice her sad feeling about smiling. Jeanne didn't want to make her brother-in-law worry about her, even though they haven't much interact or speak with each, but they are family. In the Solaria kingdom. When she smiled to him, it pierced her heart a bit, but no matter how much it hurt her, she kept the pain inside of her and release it when she's alone somewhere or in her room.

The Princess nodded slowly at what Claude said and placed her arms in front of her skirt and together. "Yes it is very unfortunate..", the Princess said to him and looked up the sky, "Guess we just isolate ourselves from everybody, even the royal family.." The Princess chuckled a bit when she said that and looked back at the Prince. Jeanne felt kind off embarrassed when her brother-in-law had to see her sleeping, well sorta sleeping in the grass, like a child, but Jeanne loved nature. Looking at flowers or roses, admiring them, and the grass, oh boy, does she loved the grass. When she was young, she would always sleep on the grass, because it was soft to sleep in, well for her, actually. Everyone would think of Jeanne weird and very confused on how she could easily sleep on the grass.

There was a slight silence between the two, until the Prince asked the Princess if sleeping on the ground is how royal members spend their free time. The Princess felt a slight blush appearing on her face and looked away, she now is really embarrassed, letting the Prince see her like that. She raised her hand up to her lip and let out a soft giggle and turned back to the Prince. "Heh... Well.. for me actually..", said the Princess as she dropped her hand slowly to her side. "Please don't tell my maid about this... or the Queen or King.." She didn't want to get scold for sleeping outside and being told she has to act like a lady, if she marries a Prince from the other kingdom or something. That was the last thing she wanted to happen and didn't want a long lecture about it too. ☥

(O.O.C: Lol yeah I saw as soon I got on. I was like "Whoa.. so many notices xD", but it's cool I don't mind. Everyone makes mistakes at times and needs to fix it.)

The prince did notice that Jeanne was quite embarrassed. The slight pink blush on her cheeks appeared to match the color of her hair quite well. Claude figured hat she was still quite childish in a way. But once again, he did no see this as a flaw either. It suits the princess quite well.

"Don't worry. I can assure you that my lips are sealed!" Claude answered with a gentle smile on his face. Claude indeed was good at keeping secrets. He had plenty of them, too. Much like Jeanne, he had to hide his secrets to protect his reputation from the people who weren't open-minded enough to understand a person's flaws. The prince wasn't a bad person, no. His interests were just a bit misunderstood, and so he decided to hide his secrets altogether. The royalty were like idols - they were expected to be flawless and perfect in every way. These expectation can be very stressful, stressful indeed, especially once you are in getting close to the age when you are expected to marry someone. However, Claude has already been through all this mess. Twice. And the third marriage would be soon, very soon. Claude wasn't exactly looking forward to it either, thanks to his experiences from the past, but he knew that it had to be done for the sake of the political relationships. If it would bring some peace to this chaos, he would be glad.
                                                                      The prince sighed.

"I suppose we both should find a bit more productive past time hobbies than just watching the clouds in a garden," Claude said. He didn't want to look troubled. Marriage wasn't actually his favorite topic, so he would stick to this one for now. It was better to talk about pleasant things. "So, do you have any ideas, sister?" he continued and smiled once again.
It felt odd to call Jeanne a sister. But he supposed that it would be the correct term in this case. It was true that they were never related, but the situation of the royal family was chaotic enough without thinking about issues like this. So, to make it sound plain and simple, instead of chaotic and complicated, he chose to use that word - "sister". The prince had once heard that they all were children of the sun, and that would make them all brothers and sisters in any case.

The prince was rather lonely, so the thought of such solidarity offered some comfort. And yet, the though would also make him worry about those around him even more. Claude, out of all people in the palace, was especially worried to see what happens to the people around him. It was not such noble feeling that the Queen would feel when she worries about her kingdom, no. The prince was worrying about what his mere presence would do to others. After all, most people around him seemed to face a very unfortunate fate soon after meeting him. Not everyone, of course, but unfortunately too many souls had been taken away by the plague when he was around.
Every single thing in life seemed to have their good and bad sides.

[OOC: Hehe. Yeah. I do edit my posts a lot sometimes, but I try to do it without spamming notices to everyone. *coughs* ]

Jeanne Rosa Calipresa ❀

Princess of Solaria

❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂

☥ The Princess was looking around the yard, looking up, down, side to side, trying to get the blush on her to disappear. It was the first time, someone else other than her maid or her past servants seeing her laying down, sleeping in the grass. This time it was someone the Princess didn't know when she arrived to the palace, and the Prince of Solaria, her brother-in-law. The Princess stopped looking around, since she will possibly be found laying on the ground again sleeping, by someone else in the palace, other than Claude. Jeanne crossed her arms a bit and looked at the Prince.

She heard him, saying that he'll keep it a secret and not tell anyone. She looked at him, with her eyes a bit wide, and confused. Mostly when someone sees her laying on the ground, she would always tell them to keep it secret, but after Jeanne's out of sight, they would straight go to the Queen and King, telling them about Jeanne and what she did. They seemed to be some kind of spies for the Queen and King from her past kingdom, since her parents could hardly pay any attention to their daughter and wanted to know what she does when they are not around. The Princess return to her normal, straight face and lightly pointed at Claude. "Y-you will!?!", said Jeanne shocked, but then shook her head, "I mean... T-thank you, Claude.." Jeanne lowered her head, then looked up at Claude with a light smile.

Smiling again, stung her heart, but she was happy. For the first time. Someone she didn't know until now, will her secret of her sleeping on the ground? Claude, in her eyes didn't seem too bad and look like he could be trustworthy. They did kind of were a bit similar, they both did kind of isolated themselves from everyone else, even the royal family and keep themselves with their personal servant. It's the first time, to meet someone that was a bit like Jeanne and she was happy, not all royal members, would keep secrets and burst it out to anyone, especially the King and Queen. Seems like Jeanne will soon to meet other royal members that are like that or just like her. Who knows. She'll meet new people along the way, even though she isn't much a talker and let's her own maid do the talking for her.

Jeanne nodded at what Claude said, but mostly all Jeanne would do was watch the sky, clouds, animals, anything that was nature like. "Sorry... I have nothing in mind..", Jeanne told him and then looked up the sky, thinking what could they do. Well one thing just popped up on Jeanne's mind. Since they were already here speaking with each other, it's best off to know what each of them were like and know each other a bit more, if they will talk again soon in the future. Jeanne glanced at Claude and opened her mouth. "Well... Since we are already here talking to each other..", she gave a light pause between her sentence then gave Claude a smile, "We can get a chance to know each other.. It's not everyday that you can get to know the members of the royal family.." Jeanne wants to take some time of her life to get to know the members of the royal family she is in, and since Claude is here with her, he'll be the first one, she'll get to know, and what kind of gentleman he is. ☥

(O.O.C: Yeah, I know the feeling. Best off to check your post before you post, right? I checked my last few post and reread it and I saw so many mistakes and some words missing, I was gonna go and fix them, but I didn't want to spam you with my edits xD)

Claude smiled back at the princess, even though he didn't like the suggestion that much. He didn't actually enjoy telling much about himself, not at all. He had met many aristocrats who were so full of themselves, and they were always blabbering about their own life, so he was often able to avoid talking about himself - especially when the topic was a bit awkward. The trick was simple, but surprisingly effective when you had only self-centered people like them around you. This time he wasn't too sure if it would even work, of course. In fact, the prince was quite positive that it wouldn't work at all. Maybe he was just being a bit paranoid about it, but he also did see that Jeanne didn't appear to be selfish enough. And so, he felt a bit uneasy. After all, it was easy to keep the secrets when they were not your own. But hiding your own secrets had proved to be much harder than that.
And so, the prince forced himself to laugh a bit. Then he looked at Jeanne's green eyes.
"That sounds like a great idea. I have been personally so busy that I haven't had much time to sit down and have a nice chat with any of the other members of the royal family, I'm afraid. Maybe I should try to fix that," the prince said.

There was only a few who knew his secrets. His personal knight and servant had learned a thing or two about him, obviously. His parents had known about his odd side too, of course, but they are long gone now. And then there was the nun. The nun that had once accompanied him on his travels, the one who once said that she was quite surprised that the prince hasn't yet locked himself in on purpose. She had been with him long enough to understand what was going on, after all. Claude was rather glad that he had left the nun behind when he had arrived to Solaria, because he would be quite sure that that lousy excuse for a nun would have started a few gossips about him already. She was definitely no saint either, but Claude wasn't exactly the type who would tell her secrets to the world, as mentioned earlier. That is not what a true gentleman would do, after all.

When he was deep in his thoughts, the prince had walked subconsciously towards a bush of roses and picked one of flowers. His body's actions were surprisingly elegant and careful, even when he was not paying any attention at all, and that is why he did not even hurt his hands while doing this.
"Ladies first. Would you mind telling me about your life in the palace? I suppose that you must have been living here for a quite while already?" he said and smiled charmingly. The prince was holding the rose in his hand, and soon he started to inspect it more closely.

[OOC: Sometimes I do reread and even fix the mistakes too, yeah. But I never claimed to know English that well, so I don't mind small spelling mistakes or such. Haters gonna hate~ ]

Jeanne Rosa Calipresa ❀

Princess of Solaria

❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂❁❂

"Yeah. Same goes here for me as well.", said the Princess, as she slowly fixed her skirt, preparing to sit on the grass. The Princess looked up the sky, breathing quietly in and out with her eyes closed then slowly opened them. As she opened her eyes, they shifted to the Prince, as he walked to one of the rose bush and picked one out. Quite surprising how he didn't get hurt, scratched, or bleeding when he picked the rose out, he seemed to be very careful picking roses out by not picking it out at where the thorns are at.

As the Prince agreed to know more about each other and told the Princess "ladies first", Jeanne nodded at him. Jeanne was looking back at the sky and started to think where to start first. "Hmmm...", Jeanne placed her both of her hands under her chin, as they were holding her head and opened her mouth. "I... arrived at this palace when I turned 15.. So I lived here about 4 years now..", Jeanne told Claude, closing her eyes remembering what happened before she arrived at the palace, "Something happened back at my first palace and had to leave... It was some stupid Royal Business... Jeanne slowly opened her eyes, they didn't look calm and pleasant, it look like she was about to cry, but didn't, just looked... sad. "Marriage... to a spoil Prince.., Jeanne whispered, making it heardable to the Prince.

Remembering the day, Jeanne left the palace, with her maid, Lily, made her heart drop and beating. Jeanne could feel her tears coming to her eyes and used all her might to hold them back. She bit her bottom lip and breathed in and out, relaxing herself to be cool and calm. No teary eyes, voice, anything that could show her feelings about leaving the palace and the lost of her parents. It was hard to hold the tears back, but she didn't want Claude to be worried about her, even though they just talked to each other and know each other, just a little. Now continuing on her little story, Jeanne slowly closed her eyes and relaxed her head, on the side of her hand, tilting it as if she was laying on a pillow.

"Since I have arrived at the palace, at the age of 15..", Jeanne took a light pause, returning back at the first thing she did in the palace, "There really wasn't much I did when I arrived.. I haven't met the King or Queen of Solaria, because, they told my maid and I, they were out doing some Royal Business.." The King and Queen just send their greetings to their new daughter, by the maids and butlers, that assisted with the Princess to her new room and gave her a tour around the palace and telling her where everything, she might need, is at, if she wants to go there. Living at the Solaria palace, Jeanne didn't do much, in her 4 years she was here. All she did when she arrived was staying at her room, ballet lessons, or go out to the town market or anywhere around the Solaria area with her maid. The King and Queen did wanted to see their new daughter, but each time they scheduled to meet her, she was always doing something else or out, shopping. When she heard they wanted to meet her, the maids or butlers told her that they were out on another Royal Business, so there was hardly any time, they were free to meet each other. ☥

(O.O.C: Terribly sorry for a little delay reply, I was "Meeeeh" for the past 2 days and couldn't much think. And somewhat short post, I don't want to say all of Jeanne's story in one whole post)

Clarissa trudged through the courtyard, a bit disheveled. She had woken later than normal and had frantically dressed, having been told Claude had gone for a stroll. No one had told her where, however, and so the young knight and servant had been forced to search on her own. She had searched everywhere except for the sunny courtyards, thinking Claude would stick to less populated places. Much to her surprise, however, the courtyards seemed to be the only empty place in the entire palace!

Grumbling her complaints under her breath, she spotted Claude, as she began to make her way over to the young Prince, a smile spread across her face. She fixes her ribbon and straightened her hair, going to her lovely prince. When he saw the young princess near him, though, she growled in irritation. How dare all these girls come near her prince! However, she WAS simply a lowly knight..No matter, though! She would keep her prince to herself. It was selfish, yes, but the young girl loved him more than anyone could.

Suppressing her sheer disdain of the princess, she made her way to Claude and the Princess. She smiled at the girl, though it came through as more of a grimace. "Hello, Your Highness. Prince Claude. My deepest apologies for not coming sooner. The handmaids failed to wake me this morning, and so I overslept. Please forgive me, my Prince." She murmured. She gave a deep bow, her scythe standing upright with her magicks, though she had no hold on it.
