Admittedly it seemed like he'd just had Aphelion, but he was already getting so big.. so independent - so smart. He loved his son, dearly, though it seemed more and more like there was something missing from their little family. He wasn't particularly interested in romance - he managed just fine on his own and wasn't in any hurry to get together with someone. He didn't even like the idea of imbuing with another person - lest they expect some form of commitment from him.

But something was missing - and he realized it when Aphelion carried on about how his day had gone. Siblings. Some of his friends had them.

"Aphe..." He eyed the small hybrid, head tilted just slightly. "Would you like a younger sibling?"

He had never been one to speak to Aphelion as if he were lesser- and honestly sometimes he spoke to him as if he were fully grown... This was one of those instances in which he felt it would be better to arrange this as if they were equals. (Weren't they?)

Aphelion blinked his four eyes, and adopted a look that Starlet knew to be contemplation before he finally nodded. "I think I would like that."

Starlet nodded, a small smile coming to his face. "Then perhaps I will imbue a stone soon, if it is agreeable. I think that you would make a good older sibling." He reached over and gently patted his son's shoulder. "Do you want to read a story, for now?" It was nearly bedtime, after all.

Aphelion nodded again, then toddled off to find the book they'd been working on together. They took turns reading the chapters out loud to one another - sometimes it was slow going but it was a good bonding exercise. Soon they'd be reading to a third... He felt a flutter of excitement in his chest. This would be good.
