Don't be suprised.Riley sat up in bed, sweat beading her brow and her breaths comming to her a ragged gasps. She had once again been woken up by a bad dream. They seemed to be haunting her lately. Raking a hand through her auburn hair she dragged a few pieces of twisted curls beind her pierced ears then glanced around the rather small room, taking in the detailed work of all the furniture as the moon glistened off of its sheen. Having the ability to see in the dark had its advantages. She had decided to take up residence within the apartment complex to try and rid herself of her Father's watchfull eye, and from the suiters who were continuiously seeking out her hand. You wouldn't think that a Carpathian Prince's daughter would bring about such lust in men, but it did. Sweeping a hand through her mess of ringlets and strands the girl sighed softly and pulled her bare legs closer to her chest, tucking them beneath the large t-shirt she had dawned before crawling into bed.
Thinking back to when her Father had forbade her from leaving the house Riley couldn't help but grin. She had been so bad...So reckless. She had never done such a thing in her entire life. I mean sure, there was the occasional transforming into a siberian tiger to escape the ever-tightening clutches of her Father, but that was nothing like running away. And imagine, she was twenty-three already. It had been said that she would never age past her youth since she was such an early bloomer. When you see tears in my eyes.

His eyes shot open with alert. His eyes quickly scanned the area and caught sight of his humble master, standing next to his body, with a careful hand rested on his head. The man stared down at him with an ever caring gaze. "Is it that woman again...?" He said. Damien sat up slowly, placing a rough hand against his forehead, shielding what little light was within the room. "Aye...Ever since i saw her that night when she fled from home, i cant seem to sepperate her from my thoughts. What is happening m'lord...?" Damien had seen this woman a while back, fleeing from something. Yet Damien had not the chance to speak to her, he had known a little of her. Though Damien had seen many women in his life, none had yet stunned him speechless like she had. His brethren all held charished objects within their grasp, but yet not one seemed apealing to Damien in the least. Everything seemed clear to him when he was glancing upon.
Yet this sudden change seemed to arouse his master's suspicion and concern. Since that night, Damien has been distracted in his duties as of late. Slowly Damien moved from his bed and began to assess to his garments, getting ready for the day of servitude for his lord. Before Damien could depart from the room, his master's delicate hand layed upon his shoulder. "Damien...What do you feel...?" Damien paused at this question. Yet he could hardly find the words to truly explain what he felt. "I am not sure m'lord. Tis feelings i've not expierenced within my life time. I dont recall teachings that defined these feelings...Im not sure how to explain it honestly...What is it m'lord? If i can fix it, ill do it, if to serve you better." The master sighed and moved gracefully across the room, snatching little things here and there to distract his attention, as Damien sat patiently like a loyal hound, waiting for his command. "No Damien...I wish for you to seek out these feelings and embrace them. Your expierencing the early signs of your lifemate. I want you to seek her out and claim her as your lifemate before you lose her forever when you become one of the darkness. You know of what i speak." Damien looked at his hand unwillingly, gazing into the lines running through his palm. The one thing he recalled of his training, was the mention of the need for a lifemate. The more you hunted, the more the beast within would comsume you. A lifemate was the one thing that can keep the beast dwelled within its slumber. Damien was the only one without a lifemate besides his brother, who recently turned into the beast. Damien was forced to take out his brother, since he was of his own kin. Yet now, Damien was growing weaker to the beast, yet he refused to accept it. "Pack all you will need necessary Damien, then leave on your journey. If i need to speak with you, i shall contact you through the ties within our mind. Be ever weary, and never let the beast consume you." Slowly his master began to depart from the room and shut the door behind him. Damien stared towards the closed door. Slowly he glided over towards the window, gazing out into the infinite beyond.

Please come. As early nightfall began to twist itself into the abyss of midnight darkness Riley felt the uneasy twitch of hunger rouse within her body. She had not fed since the last full moon, and that had been atleast a week ago. Closing her eyes against the ever growing lust for blood the young Carpathian princess stood and began to pace the length of her small bedroom. Raking an impatient hand through her tossled hair Riley licked along the lining of her sharpened K-9's as if to ease the pain; never being able to sate the need to feed was an issue that only she seemed cursed with. Every other Carpathian she knew had no problem walking up to a complete stranger and shoving their fangs into their necks; but not Riley. She could barely handle drinking from a donated blood packet, let alone a living being.
Her Father had always said she had to big of a heart, that she would never be able to survive with a mind such as hers. But she was still alive, if not a little warn from the strain. Closing her amber eyes the girl dragged her hand over her pale face and blew out an exasperated. Why was this happening to her? And why now? She had just scored big within the company and might just be promoted to head of her department. Riley had worked her a** of within that damn building, starting off within the postal service and now going in for an interview that might win her the title of VP of Desiel Inc. She had a mind for that kind of buisness, Trucks and Motercycles and all, but what she was really into was horses. Well, all animals to be exact. The only real reason she needed the promotion was to get more money for the animal sancuary that she had started back home. But God only knew what Daddy had done to that now that she had run off again. Meeting the night sky from the closed window of her apartment she paused and turned to look deeper into the darkened scene. Stars always had that effect on her. She was hypnotized by their beauty. Hoping onto the ledge the girl curled herself into a position that resembled the one she had taken on the bed and just sat there, her back reclined against the white wall and one of her legs bent to be tucked beneath her shirt, while the other extended its way to meet the oppotise corner. Find me.

On and on through out the night did Damien find himself moving through the forest, leaping from tree to tree.Great white fur covered his body and he lay hunched over like a hound. He had taken on the familiar appearance of that of a wolf. Damien held an odd obsession with the wolves, seeming to bear an unnatural bond with them. At long last, a city came within view. He had traveled a good many hours before this sight came into view. He had never seen anything of this sorts and was fascinated by it. Anytime he was called upon to deal with the unnatural beasts of the land, they had always secluded the fight away from civilization. Damien approached the hilltop and slowly stood upright, morphing back into his standard apparale, allowing the full glimpse of the lights from the city engulf his eyes. Slowly his eyes drifted to the sky, catching sight of his beloved moon gleaming down upon him. Slowly a thought began to race across his mind, as he felt little pinpricks begin to penetrate the plush of his lowerlip. He had not fed in a while and an uninsasstionable urge crept over him. "Hmm...Guess ill just have to find someone or something to sedate my thirst for now...Best be prepared for my long journey, for i'll need all i can muster if im to find her in here..."
Moving swiftly from the hill, he came off with a great leap, shape shifting once more in the air back into his beloved wolf state, and hurried on through the streets, trying to capture her scent or of a suitable donor for the night.

Come closer. As the stars and moon reflected her thoughtfull gaze Riley slowly allowed her throbbing forehead to rest against the cool window, enjoying the wind-chilled glass. Her heated body felt as if a fire had been lit within her, and no matter how much she shifted and breathed it refused to be extinguished. Finally giving up on her quest for comfortability the carpathian girl simply opened her full lips and began to sing a song that her Father had taught her when she was a baby. It soothed her aching soul and crying heart. Closing her eyes she allowed the melody to overtake her, delving within the deepest part of her memory to escape the harsh realities of the day.
"Why should thy cheek be pale, Shaded with sorrow's veil? Why should'st thou grieve me? I will never, never leave thee. 'Mid my deepest sadness, 'Mid my gayest gladness, I am thine, believe me; I will never, never leave thee.
Life's storms may rudely blow, Laying hope and pleasure low: I'd ne'er deceive thee; I could never, never leave thee. Ne'er till my cheek grow pale, And my heart pulses fail, And my last breath grieve thee. Can I ever, ever leave thee."
Wiping the single tear from her pale cheek Riley smiled soloumly into the night sky and hugged herself, pulling her knees into her chest and burring her face within her bent legs. It had been a while since she had had a good cry, and she was known for having them quite often as a child and teen. My Heart.

As he burrowed through the streets, causing much concern and distress among the late ngiht residents, his eyes searched vividily for a considerable donor, yet none seem to please his fancy. He felt horrible about just picking off random innocents, just to near take what little life they claimed to have. He became restless in his search. At long last, he finally caught sight of a worthy maiden, who happened to be heading down a lonesome alleyway.
Leaping from rafter to rafter, Damien followed his prey til she found herself deadlocked by a gate which she stumbled to unlock. Taking this chance, Damien lept down behind, giving the woman quite the fright. The wolf's teeth bare sharp and hungry and waited for the command. Yet during his moment of glory, a song began to ring through his sharp ears. A sweet yet delicate voice began to sing a most loving of songs, yet Damien knew not of the songs origins. His blood began to freeze over and he found himself, entrigued and mesmerized by this maiden's voice. Slowly he walked away from the scared woman, leaving her to catch her breath.
He lept from up towards the rooftop, trying to find the source of the song, when at last, a distance away, he could see the beauty which the voice belonged to. With great speed, he moved towards the building, enticed by the song, yearning to hear more. He made his approach, landing on the ledge a few apartments from her, the wolf simply stared in amazement at this beauty which he was now before. He did not know it to be the same girl who ran away so long ago, yet something felt so familiar bout this woman that brought a great deal of comfort to Damien. He sat perfectly on the ledge, like an obedient dog would for his master. He stared her down with soft eyes not showing any signs of fear nor the urge to attack like most animals of this appearance would.

Tell me. As the song came to a close Riley couldn't help but smile at the fond memories. Running through the vast castle her Father had build for her Mother for their joining night, bounding alongside her Father as he took the form of a black lion and she a small sibearean tiger cub. That had been her first full transformation. Hugging herself a little tighter as the warmth of her beloved Father's voice washed over her she felt an odd sensation run through her body. At first she just assumed that it was one of her memories trying to spook her yet again, but as the feeling grew so did her heart rate.
Opening her eyes wildly as a faint sound broke through her trance Riley found herself gazing into the eyes of a great white wolf. He was sitting on her ledge, as if she herself had called him from whatever hunt he had been on. His scent was strong within her mind and she felt that he was no wolf in body, but perhaps in spirit. Searching his eyes she noted that there was a spark of intellegence there that should not have been there. Then his name came to her. It was as if a whole piece of her childhood had suddenly rushed back and hit her hard. A memory that she had tried so hard to block. She breathed, unable to break the powerfull connection his eyes held with her. Uneasily she slid the t-shirt that had streched over her knees lower over her bare calves, afraid for the worst. This was the man her Father had promised her to. It was him. The Beast. That was his rumored name back home in the Mountains. She had heard stories of his dreadfull deads, his murderous heart. She could not help but flinch as she remembered that night when her Father had summoned him to their house. Damien had never shown, and because of that he was banished. To deny the Prince was to exile yourself for eternity. It's a Dream.

The beasts head tilted at the sound of his name. He was wondeirng how she knew his name. Yet something in the back of his mind kept racing back and fourth. "Who is this woman...She...she seems so familiar to me yet my mind cannot recall her name...Curse the darkness for plaguing my mind for so long that it take what little memory i have..." The wolf looked at her, catching sight of a hint of fright within her eyes. The wolf never spoke a word, but yet words seem to flow fourth from his jaws. "Do not be frightened...i mean you no harm. I had heard you sing and it brought a most pleasant euphoira to my ears that i just had to investigate...You...you seem so familiar to me, and yet you do know of my name...How is it you know me...?" The wolf edged a little closer on the ledge but kept his distance, not wanting to frighten her more than he probably already had.

Finding her mind within the nervous reck that her body had gotten her into Riley tried as hard as she possibly could to process the wolf's words. Her brain worked over the words and processed them, and as his speech registered within her her eyes calmed slightly and her posture relaxed a bit. Atleast he was talking. She noted, then grinned at her own words. No other being besides her own Carpathian race would be happy to hear a wolf speaking with them. And speak in a tounge that sounded human as well.
"Y-You hear me singing? I'm sorry if I disturbed you in any way..."
Contemplating why he was asking such a simple thing Riley tilted her head an a sort of animalistic fashion, physically questioning his words. Hadn't he known of her from their marriage proposal? Was not he the one who had requested her hand when she was just a babe in the womb? Watching him edge a little closer the girl finally came to her full senses and gave the owlf a nervous smile before stepping to her feet and pulling the window fully open.
"Please, come in. I would not want animal control to be called on me for having a wolf perched outside my room."
Her tone was half joking, but in this town those sorts of things were expected. Humans were such paranoid creatures.

A small grin came upon the wolf's emotionless face as he lept gently off the ledge. "Aye, i heard you singing. Which is why i came here. I've never before heard such a beautiful voice. I just had to find it." Damien had no reckolection of the marraige proposal so long ago. Every now and then a memory would quickly strike his mind, but he couldnt recall anything from it. His memories were weakened over prolonged exposure to the darkness. He's literally become nothing but a beast, having his only memories, that of his master and the kills hes made.
"I dont mean to intrude on your property miss." The wolf said sheepishly as he moved slowly inside, taking his new perch near the center of the room, sitting nobel and obiedient like always.

"My singing?"
He must have been mocking her. Riley had no talent in the voice reagon. Infact, she usually scared away the animals who clung to her whenever she even attempted to hum a tune. Shaking her head the girl stepped over towards her bed and slid beneath the covers, taking comfort in the warmth of the thick down comforter. She reclined against the headrest and tugged the blanket up to her waist, trying to show as little skin as possible. Watching him take a seat in the middle of the room she had the odd sensation that he was awaiting a command. He seemed more in tune with his animalistic senses then most Carpathians were.
Patting the open space besides her she felt as if she was calling a dog for bed and smirked a little at the thought. He was quite large for a wolf, almost as big as her father when he took the shape of a dark lion. She watched him intently as he breathed and shifted. What a magnificent animal.
"Why do you not change back into your human form? I do wish to meet the man behind the Beast."

Damien stayed frozen where he was momentarilly. Hesitant to approach. But he succumbed and slowly moved to the bed, getting up onto the edge of the bed without a lick of sound. He glanced at her curiously as she spoke of his human form. "I do not choose my human form much when im not home with m'lord...Mostly cause my human form is only known simply by the term of a beast...So what better way then to simply be what im known as..." Damien knelt down and extended his paws, and gently layed his ehad atop them, letting a small yawn as he layed there staring off.
He hated the fact that he was only known simply as a monster. But yet, going back and remembering what he could, only memories of glorious kills pertruded his mind. He had so many accounted onto his record and most likely would be more once he turned. His master had ensured him personally that Damien would be taken out before it was too late. He turned his head and looked at this mistress on the bed. It was obvious he had been thinking of harsher memories. "Please miss...let me hear your voice once more."

Seeing the pain as it shadowed his eyes Riley sighed softly and hesitantly lay a hand atop his head. His fur was so soft, so thick, that it instantly made her want to bury her nads within it and cuddle up with him forever. She allowed the calmness of her own body to flow into his, and through their slight touch she was able to feel the pain that he was going through. The girl flinched slightly but remained where she was. His request for her to sing seemed a bit odd, but it was the least she could do after seeing what this poor man had done.
"Golden slumber kiss your eyes, Smiles await you when you rise. Sleep, pretty baby, Do not cry, And I'll sing you a lullaby.
Care you know not, Therefore sleep, While I o'er you watch do keep. Sleep, pretty darling, Do not cry, And I will sing a lullaby."
That was a lullaby her Father had sung to her while he carried her through the woods as a babe. She could remember the sights and smells as if it had been yesterday. He had brought the child along during one of his meetings, and after introducing her as his rightfull air she was allowed to wander around the woods for a time.

A small smile spread across his face as he nussled closer to her. His eyes seemed to relax a bit as he rested his head gently on her lap. "..Thank you..." He breathed softly, as he let her voice ring through his head several times over.
As he layed there, he began to feel strange. Not this feeling of desire he felt for the maiden, but soemthing else, something psycotic. His eyes opened slowly as he began to feel his fangs and claws begin to sharpen and grow. Noticing this, he swiftly moved away from her, backing towards one of the darkened corners of the room. As he sat in the dark, he began to lose control of his power and shape-shifted back to human.
He bore the face of a young male and a simple scar across his cheek. His clothes were rather awkward for his nobility. A tight leather sleeveless shirt hung tight against his chest. He didnt have the appearance of most carpathian men, with rippling muscles in every inch of them. But he was rather basically fit and bore slim downed body. Though what little muscular apearance he held, his body was as firm as stone. His legs were hidden underneath dark jeans and were held up by a studded belt. Two extra belts hung limp and encirlcled his hips. His arms were dressed in black belt straps that went up to his elbow. His ands being hidden underneath a pair of tight leather fingerless gloves. A tribal tatoo stretched over his right shoulder. His hand lay shielding his eyes. His eyes were very dark but held a hint of red within them, stained from his many sins within his past. His teeth lightly pricked at the plush of his lower lip, obviously needing to sedate his blood thristy hunger. He had been so mesmerized by this maiden's beauty, he had completely forgotten how bad he needed to feed. Slowly his hand lowered from his face, revealing himself to her. His eyes looked at her from the darkness, a slight hint of worry for her, and the hope she didnt wittness his form.

Whimpering softly Riley shied away into the corner of her bed, afraid of what was happening. She had been so relaxed and comfortable with him that all her guards had dropped dramatically. It was unatural for her to become so useto a single person's emotional vibe, but he was so damn smooth it was difficult for even her to read. But she had felt when his emotions had spiked, and at that point it was as if a knife had been shoved into her skull. The thoughts and feelings of others were intense for themselves, but when she felt it it was as if that specific feeling was multiplied by ten.
