I took a summer class at the University of Minnesota and I am now Reiki Certified. This means that I can practice Reiki on others. For those who are not familiar with this, it is similar to Therapeutic Touch...only (here's the irony) when using Therapeutic Touch, you do not touch your patient typically. You do however lay your hands on an individual when practicing Reiki. In other words, Reiki is energy medicine.
Anyway...In Reiki II, you can learn to send Reiki over distances. I think that I will take this in the future, but our master doesn't allow people to take the class unless they have waited at least 3 months after taking level I. During this time you are to practice Reiki every day, on yourself and others. I want to take Reiki II to send the healing power of Reiki to victims of disasters.
Eventually I might decide to become a Reiki Master, but I think it will depend on my experiences with Reiki II.
I know Reiki and other Alternative Medicines can be hard for others to understand or accept, but I'm willing to explain in more detail if you ask. There are no stupid questions...it's only stupid if you want to know and fail to ask.
