Please make sure you have read the GUIDE for Future UTOPIANs as well as everything on this page before you apply. Anyone can apply, regardless of your gold, status, etc. Even if you are not a regular of the charity you can still apply but chatting and posting makes you stand out and have a greater chance of being chosen. * Every LAST weekend of the month UTOPIA's doors will be open for up to 30 new UTOPIANs (We can range from having 1 new member or the whole 30 new members). So how does UTOPIA choose? First check if you qualify based on our requirements, and then make sure you’re one of the first 30 people to apply. * REMEMBER, applications to be a member starts on the 21st and ends on 31st of each month. If you apply in June, you are applying to be a JULY member, NOT a June member. * A NEW JOURNAL entry will be made for each month, so DONT POST an application for an older month (Ex. If your name is not listed sorry, but you have to wait for the next journal entry to re-apply for next month. Not to power hungry. I care if it's something to care about. I get discouraged easily;; but pick back up on things after a few days of whining- haha. I tend to go on hiatus-- but can never leave unless like.. my internet goes down or computer dies.. which has been the case lately. I dunno,I just like the atmostphere of UTOPIA alot better than some of the others that are around. To start I can honestly say that when I was introduced to Gaia back in 2005, I had no idea that I would have fallen in love with it as much as I did. Yet, I can see that the reason for that is because of the great friends I have made during my time here. Sure there's the occasional beggar or some other person that threatens my happiness here, but after a year or so you learn to deal with them. I'm an overall fun person to know/ talk to in this case and if ever an opportunity comes up where I have a chance to help...and I mean a genuine opportunity, I jump at the chance to do so because it's the right thing 3nodding . As to my skills, I admit that joining this Roleplaying Community first I had no clue what roleplaying was- sad but true. However, now I can say that I am a literate roleplayer and an overall literate person whether it be in normal conversations over a PM or a thread or in character in a roleplay. When all is said and done though, the bottom line is that if becoming a UTOPIAN makes me a part of something genuine and good, and I know that is what Utopia defines, then I would love that opportunity. It's like the movie 'Pay it Forward' and the movement the little boy started. Yeah, I guess I should mention that I can be a bit random at times, but that's just because I like to speak my mind. Final note, laughter is the key for me. I'm a joker and I try to find something to laugh about if I'm ever sad. Even if it's something random, I try my best to cheer someone or myself up. ^^ Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): Finished my quest for my Golden Laurels and Family Jewels Gold last year and last month I won my first contest, winning a sealed from Unwielding's and Kyrillos' TLMC^^. Current Quest: None currently as my friend and I have recently finished a quest to look like twins for the month. End date: July 14th. This motivation comes from witnessing the good works from various charities I've visited such as the Plexi 1k shop and other threads such as Purgatory. Although I am not able to help others financially on Gaia, I do give the gift of friendship and try to become personable with others. I have been told in other guilds that I could be considered the nicest member there, but I don't let such judgments get to my head. At times I can be selfless, to point at which people yell for being too nice; a trait I consider a special quality, as well as being a source of inspiration to some. I have also been told that I am unusually perceptive when it comes to understanding people. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): I won random dice contest if that counts as a contest even though I didn't really do anything special... I've also helped a friend (whom I know in real life) start up her own guild, as well as other people I know only through Gaia start their own guilds. I've been around for quite some time (new to the UTOPIA thread though, I'm afraid), which means I've seen gaia through quite a lot over the years. I've met a lot of people as well, and am happy to have found a great many familiar faces at UTOPIA. I consider myself reasonably versed in things like grammar and tact, and get along with most people. But it feels strange trying to sell myself here, so I think I'll stop. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): Hmm, well, I have successfully quested for an angelic scarf, although that was.. probably 2 years ago now. My current quest has been continuing for well over a year, although that may not be much of an achievement because I can't seem to make a dent still. For some time I was using my gold to hold quest items for friends, but currently I have found my market skills are not up to par and I don't end up helping anyone. I am trying to work on that so I can bring my anti-inflation center back, because I end up holding a lot of gold for my quest, and it ought to be useful instead of just sitting there in my account. I have also recieved 5th place in the avatar arena, and achieved many quests (demon horns, golden laurels, ect). Current Quest: I'm actually in a lull for what I'm questing for atm. I'm thinking about placing 1/2 my gold for my Charity, and saving up with the other 1/2 forsomething else (winged anklets, or something). Probaly thw Winged Anklets which are now at: 364k. However my main priority is making sure that my charity mule: spirits-4-u-n-me-charity has enough gold to support the Charity. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): I owned two giveaways, the first one was not so good since i only gave out like 20k for the whole giveaway but the last one i had it delt with wrapping up presents and giving them to someone and if they were lucky there would be a MC in it and I spent atleast 100k with buying all the MCs and items for the gift boxes but it closed due to lack of funds, I gave but no one stayed in the thread after they got a good present and it got bad so I closed it sadly. I listen to a lot of music, and i enjoy playing video games, mostly Nintendo, but I do play Kingdom Hearts. Stuff on Playstation and stuff like that. Anyways I want to join Utopia because it will give me a chance to get to know other people since the only time I talk to new people is on my giveaway, and on the towns. And, on further note, I am starting a Gaia-Avatar based Flash video based on "The Adventures of Pac-Man" game. Even when I'm questing, I'll try to give a little bit of gold to help out a friend or something of value to help with their quests. Also, if I'm questing for something I really want, I don't steer away from that path. Staying focused is what I do. That was my first dose of true giving without wanting or needing anything back. Another one of my achievements would be finishing my Winged Anklets quest on my own. I also opened my own Charity in the mist of that, It ran smoothly for a good 5 months but then it got slow and eventually died out, because school and other stuff, I didn't have as much time. Gaia Join Date: December 22, 2004 Current total number of posts: 47767 Why should you become a UTOPIAN (tell us your special qualities and/or skills): Unlike some gaians, as of now I have no programming or art talents with which to assist the gaian community, but there are a few things I take pride in being able to do. I am a literate gaian and I love to roleplay and while that may not seem like the biggest quality there is, think of it this way. At least there is one more literate gaian out there fighting to make the RP forums a better place. I might even go as far to say that I am my own personal superhero xD. [[haha.]] Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): Hm...well I don't own a charity myself but I am a crew member in one. It's called Random Gaian Guild [[RGG for short]] and it is a charity guild. Every two weeks the crew members look through the applications and vote for those who they thing most deserve the donations. No, the crew members aren't the ones actually giving their gold away, only the guild owner Janus Dakkon is, but it's always nice knowing that even while you're on your own quest you have been able to help a fellow quester without stunting your own progress. I am also a dedicated quester and completed many quests. There is only one of my quests that has been put aside and that was my quest for the OMG hat. I quested for it for a year but kept alot of my gold in user run banks, so I wouldn't be tempted to spend it all, and then they got shut down and I lost over half of my gold xP. And then the gold that I had left I donated it to friends who needed it and started fresh. Current Quest: Steel-plated Ninjaband. I want to be a part of a family. (aaww) Great GAIAN Achievement/s: I've participated in and won three contests. THe third is my most recent win. The first one was just a lucky random-number thing, where I won a gwee. The second one was an art contest, where in what you draw is in accordance to the month of the letter you wanna win. I won a March 2006 letter. The third one was another art contest, held by Cartagia. I won in two categories, total winnings equaling 200k. I haven't opened that March letter yet, because I know someone who wants a dark halo. I'm thinking if I should trade the letter+gold for one. The very first quest I finished was a complete outfit change. It cost me only 16k. My next quests concerned MC's, which I complete after some time. Current Quest: Buy a Winter Rose and a Mystic Halo. I really do. But I have had my IQ tested and I'm a genius~ :'D I like to garden, and sing and dance and maybe I could help you with your gardens and flowers and plants, or atleast teach you the lyrics to motown songs. D: I'm a hopeless romantic, but really enthusiastic... and my religion is really big to me, I'm a Roman Catholic. So yeah. That's about it. I have a beautiful "curvy"(lol, she's gained some weight...) main coon mix kitty who likes to wake me up at 3 in the morning, meowing for me to open the door to my bedroom. :O I play WoW and I sleep.
