I was on my way to school until I noticed Souta standing outside the shrine of the hidden well. He was looking for Buyo, but too afraid to go down the stairs into the shrine. So, I went down the stairs and got the cat. Suddenly, a strange light came from the well and something burst through the seal and grabbed me with its 6 arms. Souta screamed as I was pulled down into the well. Inside the well was a mysterious blue. The demon that grabbed me looked like a woman with a centipedes skeleton as a body. As we were falling down the well, it asked me to give it the Sacred Jewel and I had absolutley no idea what it was talking about. But even stranger then that, it LICKED MY FACE! I struggled to get free as the demons skin began to grow back. I then yelled for it to stop and held out my hand. I was amazed when out of my hand came a strange purple light, knocking the centipede woman backward. I finally landed at the bottom of the well and the blue light faded. The "demon" was gone. I wondered if it was a dream, but then saw the severed arm of the demon lying becide me, so I had a feeling this wasn't a dream. "Souta, get grandpa!" I yelled, but there was no response. I figured he probably took off, as I started climbing up the vines hanging on the inside of the well. When I got over the top of the well, I was surprised to find myself surrounded by trees, trees, and more trees (not inside the shrine. In fact, there was no shrine anywhere.) I walked around, still calling for Souta and grandpa. That's when I saw it, the Sacred Tree. I then knew I was close to home. I went toward it, making my way through the bushes. And when I saw it, I paused. It was a boy,...pinned to the tree by an arrow piercing his chest. He was dressed in red, had long silver hair, and he looked merely asleep. I climbed up the tree's roots to get a closer look at him. I reached for his ears, noticing that they weren't human ears, but white dog ears! (they were so soft.) Then suddenly, a bunch of villagers came up behind me and started yelling and shooting their arrows. "What are you doing here?" they yelled. They then tied me up and took me to their village. Everyone was staring at me. I think that they thought I was some sort of demon or something because of my attire. (I was still in my school uniform, after all.) An older woman made her way to the front of the crowd and came up to me. (She seemed to be a priestess.) Her name was Kaede. She started throwing sandy stuff at me and yelling. "Be gone demon!" (I thought she was crazy.) I yelled, "Hey! Hey! I'm not a demon okay!" Kaede explained to me that they thought I might have been a demon "in disguise." Suddenly, she started examining my face. "It's there, though I know not why." she said. "What's there?" I thought. "What is going on?!" Later that night I sat down with her as we ate stew, (which was SO good by the way.) She asked where I was from and I told her that I was from Tokyo. I was surprised to find that she had never heard of such a place. Silently I wondered how I was going to get back home, IF I could get back home. Villagers started yelling outside. Kaede and I peered out of her hut ad ran out to see that the centipede demon had returned. She's destroying the village and demanding posession of the Sacred Jewel. Kaede said that we had to drive it back to the dry well in the Forest of Inuyasha. I then had a feeling that 'Inuyasha' was the name of the boy I saw sealed to the tree earlier. I looked around and saw a bright light shining above the trees in the distance, so I started running toward it as the demon followed me. The centipede attacked, causing me to fly through the air and land at the foot of The Sacred Tree. I looked up and saw the boy again, but he wasn't asleep. He was looking down at me with his amber eyes. "Hey Kikyo." he said. "You look pretty dumb there Kikyo. Why are you taking so long to kill it? Just do her like you did me." I had no idea why he was calling me by that name. "Kikyo, Kikyo, Kikyo! Whoever she is, she's not me bacause my name is-" "She's here." he interrupted. The demon came up from behind me and knocked me aside. Suddenly, the villagers arrived and shot their arrows in the demons side. They pulled the centipede away from me. "You're pathetic, Kikyo." Inuyasha said. By then, I've had enough, so I got up and said, "I'm telling you, I'm not her!" "You've gotta be her because theres no way that you could smell so - (sniff sniff),... You're not her." he said. "DUH! My name is Kagome! KA-GO-ME!" I yelled back. The centipede demon then came from behind and grabbed me as I grabbed Inuyashas hair in turn. The centipede kept pulling me as Inuyasha yelled for me to let go of his hair. "Give me the Sakred Jewel!" it yelled. When the demon said that, it got Inuyashas attention. It lunged at me with it's sharp teeth. In response, I let out my hand, causing a beam of light just as it did before in the well. The light blew the centipede back and three of its arms fell to the ground. The villagers looked shocked. I still had no idea how I was able to do such a thing. Suddenly, the weirdest thing happened. As I was sitting on the ground, my side began to glow and the demon lunged towards me, causing me to burst up into the air. My side burst open and a small purplish ball came out of me (weird). THAT was the Shikon no Tama. I fell to the ground, along with the Shikon Jewel. Inuyasha yelled for me to give him the Jewel, but I didn't know what to do. Before I could even decide, the centipede demon wrapped its body around Inuyasha and I, crushing my body against the tree. The centipede started mocking Inuyasha, referring to him as a hanyou (half-demon). "Half demon? What IS he?!" I thought. He looked tough, but I wondered if he could back it up. The demon then uses its long tongue to grab the Jewel off of the ground. Its arms returned to its body and its skin fell off of his body (eew), revealing the hideous monster underneath. Inuyasha asked me to pull out the arrow, but Kaede told me I shouldn't. She said it was his seal to the tree. "Are you ready to die yet?" Inuyasha asked me. I wanted to live, so I pulled myself up and grabbed the arrow. I pulled it out and the arrow vanished in my hand. Inuyashas whole body started pulsing like a heart. "Inu...yasha!" I said (I obviously started to freak out.) Inuyasha then laughed like a maniac. The centipede squeezed its body onto us tighter still, but he broke free with a flash of yellow light. With one slash of his claws, he destroyed the demon. "Heh!" he said as the demon fell apart behind him. I was just amazed at how strong he was. Beside me on the ground, a part of the centipede twitched. Kaede and the villagers ran over to me and Kaede asked me to find the piece of flesh that the Jewel was in. I laid my eyes on a certain lump of flesh that was glowing. "It's that one." I told her. Kaede took it out and the centipede's skin melted away, leaving behind nothing but bones. Kaede handed me the Shikon no Tama and told me that I was the only one who could use it. I looked at the little purple Jewel in my hands and wondered "Why was it inside my body?" "Why would I have a jewel wanted by demons?" Inuyasha then stepped forward, stepping on the bones of the dead demon. "Look, either hand over the Jewel right now, or I'm gonna have to start sharpening my claws on you." I then knew that he wasn't the hero after all.
