To all the people who drive like idiots:
STOP!!!!!!!! Seriously, how inconsiderate are you to risk the lives of so many others? Since I have started commuting to school, I have found that it is rare to travel a day without seeing an accident. That is really really bad. There have also been at least 5 fatal accidents that I have heard about since the 20th of August. Here are some rules for driving, in case you managed to get your driver's license without figuring these out:
Going 70 MPH on an on-ramp is a terrible idea. They tend to be curvy. Also, you should really see what traffic is doing on the highway you are getting onto before going full speed ahead!

BLINKERS! Use them. Also, turning on your blinker does not give you the RIGHT to move, it just tells other drivers that you want to move. Its almost worse to turn your blinker on as your moving, or turn your blinker on then immediately move then not using it at all. Here's how its supposed to work: You need to move over so you put your blinker on. Then, you look in all your mirrors, and glance over the shoulder which is on the same side as the lane you are getting ready to merge into. After ensuring you are not going to collide with anyone move over at a nice smooth pace. Don't jerk your car over. You could loose control.

Don't ride another car's tail. You aren't going to be able to push them to go faster, and if they have to hit their breaks you are going to probably hit them because you don't have time to hit yours before your slow little brain registers what is happening.

Speed limit is there for a reason kids. If you are going 90 MPH and hit something, you and whatever you hit is probably toast. If you must speed, aim for the other idiots and not the family vehicles okay?

Follow the lane ending signs and get over BEFORE your lane ends. If you start looking for a spot to merge and stop trying to get in front of everyone then guess what! You'll get into a lane without risking death. Its an amazing concept. Also, traffic will get less jammed because no one is going to have to hit their breaks to let your dumb a** over.

Get off your cell phone and drive.

Pick a lane, and stay there. Try not to jump around lanes, use them for passing vehicles moving slower then you (ie under the speed limit), to get on and off the highway, and to allow others coming onto the highway merge without having to worry about hitting you. See, if everyone follows this concept then you are more likely to arrive on time. Why? because the rest of traffic isn't going to have to keep hitting their breaks because you are cutting them off, which will stop traffic jams.

Finally, please, for the love of God, remember you aren't the only one out there. Just like you, everyone else has 200 possible idiots to watch. They might not see you, so you should not rely on them seeing you to get you out of an accident.

Practice defensive and safe driving. It will save lives.
