Yuki's journal
My randomness showcased for the world to see.
Part 4
As Mark got ready for bed, he began to wonder what had happened to Yuki. She should have arrived not long after they had. It had been two days now. Was she alright, captured, wounded or dead? All kinds of thoughts ran through his head as he sat still for the first time in two days. This mission was his first and it was horrible from the start. The mission was simply to get to a crash site and collect as much of the wreckage as possible. Yuki and Miss Danielle got into a fight about the mission. Mark hadn't thought much of it, but Ryan said something before they left. They had talked about who was to go, when the mission started, and how long they had to go before it was just aborted.
Yuki took them on a detour from the plan as soon as they got out of sight of Miss Danielle. The group watched as the area they were supposed to be was bombed. Happy that they had taken the detour, but unwilling to give up the mission, the group headed towards the site. Yuki had objected saying that there was something that she wanted to pick up before they continued. Since it was not far out of the way, the group agreed. Dan was the only one to object to these detours; however, Yuki explained that on a battlefield a soldier had to be ready for obstacles and be able to find their destination without using the guidelines or plan give by headquarters. After the bombs, there were no more objections. Everyone was too worried about what else would happen before the mission was complete.
Yuki stopped at the bottom of some mountains. She had the group wait for her as she went into a cave. When she reappeared, she was carrying a bag. The group wanted to know what it is, but Yuki wouldn't give an answer. As the started into the woods, they were attacked. Yuki was able to send the attackers running and get the group closer to the site. Before they walked up to the site, Yuki gave the bag to Mark and told him not to open it until they returned safely to headquarters.

Mark questioned the decision, but hadn't even opened the bag. They were save now, but every time he thought about opening it, Mark started to think about Yuki's trust in him. He just couldn't bring himself to open it. If Dan and Tim had come with them, they would have opened the bag as soon as they arrived at the sanctuary.
It was at the crash site that they had left Yuki. It was almost as if she knew something was going to happen. They stopped not too far from the site for almost an hour. She had warned them that there were at least seven gangs of enemy soldiers around. Since this was there first time, the group didn't seem to understand what Yuki was telling them.
Yuki had wanted to wait and secure an escape route before they continued to the site; however, Dan wouldn't have it. Dan, Ryan, and Tim decided that Yuki's plan would take too long. They convinced some of the group to head out with them. Yuki tried to stop them, and finish securing the route; however, Dan, Ryan, and Tim had walked right into a trap. Not wanting the rest of the group to recklessly run in after them, Yuki gathered them together and explained a plan. Mark and Joe would head around to the back, staying in the brush. Linda and Sam would head around the other way. Yuki would head down the slope to the boys. While Linda and Sam were heading around, they ran into a group of children. The children were scared and wanted to help Yuki; however, Linda was able to convince them to wait with them for Yuki.
After Yuki rescued Dan, Ryan and Tim from the trap, the group rejoined. Yuki told them to head towards the sanctuary. The group started down the trail when the second round hit. Yuki was able to defend the group as they ran down the trail towards the sanctuary.

Now two days later, Mark wondered what had happened when they split up. Had letting Dan and the others go been the right decision? Was it the best decision? He knew the group was willing to wait nineteen more days, but what if Yuki wasn't back yet. What about Dan would that group be alright? All Mark could do was help George keep some order while they were here. After Mark fell asleep, George closed up the rooms and headed down towards his own. He felt sorry for the group. George was a deserter from the army. On his first trip out, his group had ended up in a bad fight. Luckily for them Yuki and Yuri hadn't been too far off. It was thanks to the two of them that George had made it safely to the sanctuary. The orders from those above him would have killed him, so he felt no desire to go back. The sanctuary offered him a place to stay. Would this group want to stay? Or would telling them his story, bring more soldiers? Knowing that he had eighteen days to make up his mind, George decided to wait and tell them later.
