Mom: Do you want to eat something?
Daniel: No...
Mom: *sigh* You can't just sulk around all day. I know your dad is gone, but you're not the only one that's sad about it. I miss him too.
Daniel: He's just never around for anything. My first day of Ninja Academy, my first Jutsu... He's never around!
Mom: I know it's hard... Jonin don't exactly have a loose job...
Daniel: Maybe I shouldn't become a ninja... Maybe I should just try and live a normal life...
Mom: What happened to the boy who was always saying "I want to be a ninja just like dad! I want to protect the village!" Where did that go?
Daniel: .....

*knock* *knock* *knock*
Daniel's mom answered the door. It was Kim, Jenny, and Jordan.

Kim: Is Daniel here?
Mom: Ummm...
Daniel: Mom, it's fine. Hey guys. What do you want?
Kim: we were just wondering if you wanted to come get some ramen with us.
Jenny: You kind of just left without telling us bye at the exam. What's up with that?
Daniel: Don't worry about it...
Jordan: Anyway, are you coming?
Daniel: Sure. Mom! I'm leaving!
Mom: Be back by nine!

They left the house.

*At the Ramen Shop*

Owner: Here you go! Four new Genin ,huh?
Jenny: Ya.
Owner: Good job. You guys must know Naruto then.
Kim: Ya, we know him... why?
Owner: He's in your class, and he comes around here all the time. Just last night him and that teacher of his were here.
Jordan: You mean Iruka Sensei?
Owner: Yep! That's him. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Kim: Oh, don't worry! We will!

They all started eating. After Jenny, Jordan, and Kim finished, Daniel wasn't halfway done with his bowl yet. He was just mostly staring at it.

Jenny: Daniel, seriously. What's wrong?
Daniel: Well, you guys know my dad, right?
Kim: Ya... What happened?
Daniel: He was suppose to be at the academy after the exam to congratulate me, but he wasn't.
Jordan: This wouldn't be the first time. I thought you told me he basically missed everything...
Daniel: It's not just that though... I just sometimes think something has happened to him when he comes back late, you know?
Jenny: Ya...
Owner: ... Your dad's a Jonin?
Daniel: Ya, why?
Owner: I wouldn't get too worked up on it. Jonin are always late... especially that Kakashi.
Jenny: Who?
Owner: Kakashi Hatake. Probably one of the best Jonin we have, but he's always late.
Daniel: But to be home late for a mission-
Owner: Trust me. I bet he'll be here by tomorrow. He could be at your house waiting for you far all we know!

Daniel ran towards his house excited.

Kim: I'm taking your ramen!

*At Daniel's house*

Daniel burst through the door.

Daniel: Is he here?
Mom: Daniel, be careful! You almost broke the front door!
Daniel: Is dad home yet!?
Mom: No... Why?
Daniel: Oh... no reason...
Mom: What's gotten into you lately?
Daniel: Nothing... I'm going to bed...
Mom: All right. Good night!

*The next morning*

Daniel went straight towards the woods to train. He didn't really want to talk to anyone, just practicing his best technique, the fire jutsu.

Daniel: Fireball Jutsu!

Fire started coming from his mouth and onto a couple trees.

Daniel: Crap... maybe I should have thought this through!

He started trying to put out the fires to make sure he didn't burn the forest down, and he heard talking. As he got closer he could tell it was Naruto's voice. But he was talking to someone else. As he got closer, he saw it was the honorable grandson of the third hokage, Konahamaru.

Naruto: So what's up with this obsession you have with your grandfather?
Konahamaru: ... My grandfather named me Konahamaru, after the ancient name of the village, so it should be easy to remember, but no one calls me that name. Not one person in the village. That's because when they look at me they don't really see me. All the see is the "Honorable Grandson of the Lord Hokage". No one knows who I am... I can't stand it any more. It's like I'm invisible, like I don't exist. I hate that. that's the reason I have to become Hokage now so people know who I am.
Naruto: ... Get real! You think people are going to accept a squirt like you? A kid just can't turn into Hokage after a day or two.
Konahamaru: What!?
Naruto: It's not that simple. You keep saying "Hokage, Hokage". To really become Hokage, you know what you'll have to do?
Konahamaru: What? What is it?
Naruto: You're going to have to defeat me in battle!

Daniel slowly walked away.

Daniel: So... Konahamaru is tired of being called that, huh? And what's he doing hanging out with Naruto anyway? Hokage, Hah! Ya right! That runt will never make it as Hokage! Naruto seems to know a bit about becoming Hokage, so he must be looking into it. He's failed the exam 4 times now. How's he gonna become Hokage?
Kim: There you are!
Daniel: Oh, hey Kim. What's up?
Kim: I've been looking for you for 20 minutes! You mom said you came out here to train. I saw a couple of burned trees. Not much control over it today, huh?
Daniel: It's not that, there's just too many trees for a big fire ball. almost impossible not to burn one.
Kim: Guess who i saw training over there though...
Daniel: Who?
Kim: Sasuke. He was practicing with his shurikens. So, you wanna go do something?
Daniel: If you say ramen, I swear-
Kim: No! I meant something fun!
Daniel: You don't mean something like a Naruto prank do you?
Kim: No! Of course not! I meant like going to find some of our old classmates and have some fun!
Daniel: Why not? I have nothing else better to do...
Kim: Perfect! C'mon!

She grabbed his arm and started pulling him through the forest.

Daniel: Wait! Slow down!!!

*In town*

Daniel: There's Ino's flower shop. You wanna stop in and say hi to her?
Kim: Sure, why not?

They walked in and immediately, Ino saw them.

Ino: Hey guys. What's up? Come to buy some flowers?
Daniel: No, we just thought we'd stop in and say hi. You looking forward to the orientation?
Ino: Not really, I just can't wait to see Sasuke!
Daniel: Oh ya... You are one of the many Sasuke lovers...
Ino: Hey! Sasuke will be mine! I guarantee it! And if you see Sakura, you tell her that.
Kim: I don't think we'll be seeing Sakura around here.
Ino: If she's outside her house you will. She lives right down the street.
Kim: Perfect...
Daniel: Well, anyway, see you at the orientation.
Ino: Bye!

Kim and Daniel kept walking down the road until they heard Choji inside the barbecue restaurant.

Daniel: Why does that not surprise me?
Kim: Let's keep walking. I'd rather not stop to talk to him.
Daniel: Good point.
Sakura: Daniel? Kim?
Daniel: Sakura! Great...
Sakura: How have you guys been?
Kim: Good, you?
Sakura: Ok, you guys wouldn't have happened to see Sasuke around here, would you?
Daniel: Hahaha!!!
Sakura: What's so funny?
Kim: He's just laughing because we saw Sasuke out there training.
Sakura: Oh... well maybe I shouldn't bother him then...
Daniel: Well, we had better get going.
Sakura: All right. See you guys at the orientation.
Kim: Yep, see you there!

They kept walking until they got to Jordan's house.

Inside of the house: I know dad! ... I know! ... You've told me this a million times!!!

Jordan burst out of the front door angrily.

Jordan: Kim? Daniel? Please tell me you didn't hear all of that...
Kim: Nope. None of it.
Jordan: Ok, good. Where are you two going?
Daniel: Just around the village.
Jordan: Maybe I'll go with you guys...
Inside the house: Jordan! Get in here!!
Jordan: Or not... See you guys later!
Daniel: Bye.

Eventually, they made it to Jenny's house.

Jenny: Chris! You're so unfair!!

Jenny ran out of the house angry. (Deja Vu)

Jenny: Oh, hey guys.
Daniel: Your brother again?
Jenny: Ya...
Daniel: He's still being a complete retard?
Jenny: Only 1 1/2 full retard.
Kim: Hah! Perfect!
Jenny: Anyways, where are you guys going?
Kim: Just down the road.
Jenny: Hey! Hang on a bit, and I'll go with... Mom! I'm going with Daniel and Kim! Ok, let's go.

They just kept walking until they got to the ramen shop.

Kim: ... Please?
Daniel: All right...

They went through the curtains...
