Anyone can apply, regardless of your gold, status, etc. Even if you are not a regular of the charity you can still apply but chatting and posting makes you stand out and have a greater chance of being chosen. * Every LAST weekend of the month UTOPIA's doors will be open for up to 30 new UTOPIANs (We can range from having 1 new member or the whole 30 new members). So how does UTOPIA choose? First check if you qualify based on our requirements, and then make sure you’re one of the first 30 people to apply. * REMEMBER, applications to be a member starts on the 21st and ends on 31st of each month. If you apply in June, you are applying to be a JULY member, NOT a June member. * A NEW JOURNAL entry will be made for each month, so DONT POST an application for an older month (Ex. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): Finishing my quest for the Kiki Kitty Plushie and the Staff of the Angels are definitely accomplishments that I'm proud of. My friend and I are also hosting a holiday event thread this year, and we're giving away some items as well as giving people a chance to do more holiday things here on Gaia. It's definitely fun and rewarding to be able to do something like that at this time of the year. To this day ive decided that I wanted to be one of those people who make a difference for Gaia. I love to draw, help others, and well, create as many things as people want me to. If users donate 1k or more, I make them a logo and an emotion. Just a way to motivate people to donate. -Because I'm constantly questing, I don't really donate any big items to people but I do tend to give out a bouquet (to my female Gaia friends) or a store item (for my male Gaia friends) for their birthdays or Gaiaversaries. -I'm a darn hard working Gaian. I've quested for 40 small quests and 11 large quests all since June 2006. In my opinion, it's a pretty good turnout. -I was a decent vender up until the MP change. Since then, I can't really vend (mainly due to the 2% listing fee. -My only real way to get gold is through my mules. I've spent hours upon hours on them trying to get gold (through posting, commenting, voting, and Jigsaw). Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): -My greatest achievements were finishing quests for the biggest items I quested for which include Kiki and CoCo Kitty Plushies, Staff of the Angels, Demonic Pitchfork, Winged Anklets, Angleic Bracelet, Demonic Pendant, OMFG, Baby Seal Slippers, and an Angelic Pendant. -I won my first bumping contest from a person trying to sell December 2006 letters. And my prize of course was one of the letters. :3 -I'm a crew member of Random Gaian Guild. It's a guild that gives out prizes every two weeks through an application process. Crew members vote and whoever they like best is chosen as a winner (who gets 15k) or an Honorable Mention (who gets 10k). I try to help other people when i can and if they deserve it. I feel that if people just ask for something and they don't try to get it themselves, they do not deserve for a donation. If they ask for something and at least try to get it, they have a greater chance for a donation. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): i would be honored if you accepted me as a UTOPIAN. When i first started gaia, i didn't know what to expect. I thought that a lot of the people here didn't care too much about others until i found a charity thread where most of the people there have more experience. I started to fit in more and more. And when i got my first donation from an anonymous person, i was just ecstatic. I felt that more people should feel happy when they get a donation, so i started a charity thread. Soon, i feel that i need to finish my own quests and get settled more on gaia so i shut down the thread. Let's see, another achievement, i finished many quests and i also helped many of my friends finished their quests by donating to them. So, this is sort of my summary of what i did on gaia so far. For Christmas, and my friends Birthdays and Gaiaversaires I always try to get them something nice. That was back when it was only 70k, but I think it's still a pretty good accomplishment. When my friend donated me my Cream Antoinette Wig, I gave her 40k to help with her quest. I do not OWN a charity, but I'm a part of the Ramen Guild Gift Giving Thread and we have all done lots of group quests, and help people with their quests and gift random people we like/think deserve it. I feel that giving is much better then recieving. I would like to be a part of an "organization" that believes in giving. I feel like being part of it would help me to continue giving to others even when I get discouraged. The previous ones were the 10k or Less Item Charity and the Help the Noobs Charity. I have finished many quests included the seal slippers, kiki, coco, and bani clips plus after losing my original account I managed to come back to the site and get many things that I had lost. Whether this is by doing avatar art, running contests &/or giveaways or just by being myself and laughing with people in a thread - it's really what I try to do. On top of that, my special skill is... having outfit ADD (which leads to people laughing at me & me laughing with them) :'D In all seriousness, and ADD aside, I think I should be a UTOPIAN because I love people. From hanging out in the UTOPIA thread, I've seen that more than anything, UTOPIA is a community & an awesome group of people friends, and I think we could have lots of fun together. <3 Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): First, I opened an art shop about a month after joining, and it's still going strong - I really love it because before starting it, I really didn't know how to draw so it's been a great learning experience. Second, over the summer, I did a charity art auction and raised 1.1mil, that was poured straight into other people's quests - some friends, some random strangers. I haven't stopped donating & helping friends since then (in smaller quantities though), but it was both fun and interesting to be giving away more than my entire account was worth at the time. Third, I've also completed many of my own quests both from hard work drawing & exchanging and help from my friends. (These have ranged from very small letter hoards to recent and old (04) MCs) Current Quest: In the long run, an AFK or A. Scarf. I would consider myself honored to become a Utopian. I’ve been a long-time fan of Lexi’s work in the charity forum, and I really do respect Utopia a whole lot. So I decided to be active in guilds and not in the forums anymore. It is already a while since I heard of UTOPIA and I know that all of the UTOPIANS are kind and nice people and now I decided to try and be a UTOPIAN too smile Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): I donated 50k and a dark star to a friend, even though it was a lot for me back then, but she was really happy with it and that's what it's all about smile I also own a Lotto with a charity in it. I am not dramatic, and I tend to avoid arguments finding myself to be the peacemaker in situations most of the time. I absolutely despise any hacking because it's horribly wicked. I know personally what it's like to be unfairly banned, and I send my heart out to all those who have experienced the feeling you get when you cannot log in anymore. As such, I understand Darren's motivation for starting a charity inspired by his friend who was unfairly banned. I am helpful and have gone out of my way to give donations to those who truly deserve them. I am patient, and I try to participate as often as possible. And these qualities explain my character. Great GAIAN Achievement/s (own a charity, finished a quest, won a contest, helped a friend, etc): I have to say that my highest point in Gaia was just Christmas Day. Back when I was banned in July, my friend Dervish Assasin helped me get back on my feet. I hope that doesn't sound like a small gift to people who have more than me because it took a lot of work to get it for him. Gifts in that light are not about size so I wrote a note to him (private, of course). I guess what I'm trying to say is that specific donation made me feel the best, and I regard it as my highest achievement on Gaia.
