The Cursed

It had been months since she came to the office.
Why hadn't he asked her out? "Hey Nezime, could you tell chief I need those
papers?" Nezime turned around and smiled at her softly and replied,
"Alright but you owe me this is my break!" He sipped some coffee then left the room to get the papers. A short man with a balding came in. "Aria! Why couldn't you get these papers yourself?" He barked. "I was busy filing other papers.
Oh yes, What is our next mission?" She replied calmly as she pulled her brown
hair out of her eyes. " A man named Hisjin. He killed alot of people so be on your toes. We know you can do it." At that the short man left and Nezime came in.
"He is more upset than usual. Yeah I guess we will go after him tommorrow?"
Aria nodded as she was thinking.
Later that night Nezime and her were at a bar. "Hey are you ok? You
aren't your peppy self." Nezime said coming over to her table. "Oh just thinking."
She said with a weak smile."Want to dance?" He asked holding to her hand.
"You know I love to!" She replied standing up. She danced all night in his arms.

The dj had just put on a new song when Nezime's phone rang. "Yeah....mmm..right on it!" He answered as he snatched it up from his belt. Nezime turned to Aria and replied, "That guy is near here and chief wants us to get rid of him now!" Aria smiled a bit and buttoned up her black trench coat.
They had ran over a block and found him. "He matches the description perfectly."
Aria said in a whisper. Aria then had a sensation through out her body.
She streched herself infront of Nezime just as some bullets flew by hitting
her straight in the chest. "Nice to see you Aria....." Siad the man on the corner with a chuckle. " Hisjin...must be another fake name, right Yushin?" She said with
a sneer. Nezime was unconsious in the nearby alley. "He is only my partner at work....." She said as she got up. "I don't care! You know me..." Yushin siad
with a maddening cackle. "Yeah....so jealous that you have to kill everyone
who gets too close to me. Do I have to say it so many times? I loathe you!"
Aria said pulling out a grand sword. It had a marble hilt while the
blade was in the shape of a devil's wing. "So many times we fight but you finally got the sword from her father....the old coot! I couldn't wait til he died."
With that comment Aria sprung foward .Yushin surprised at the attack got cut in the
throat. "Shut up you scum!" Aria said her eyes glowing with rage.
Her blood loss finally took control and she let the sword fall from her
blood covered fingers.

Nezime had called back up from the rest of the police and looked for Aria.
"Over here! The ambulance is coming around the corner." One of the men said.
Nezime ran over and jumped into the ambulance . "Aria...say something..."
He said a bit concerned. "Sword......" Was all she said in response.
She finally spoke clearly in the halls of the hospital as the quickly carried her to the E.R. "Distroy the sword! If this is my deathbed I want you to destroy it.
Don't throw it into the river....put it into a blazing fire and let it melt. Please...promise...." She said trying to catch her breathe. "I promise!" Nezime
said as they took her into a room and a nurse showed him the door.

Nezime asked his freind who took care of all of the clues for the sword saying it was Aria's. "Why use swords? But I do have to say that guy you got was dead after a few moments. Said something weird like ' I win again!' It seemed crazy!"
Nezime shook his head and asked a bit agitated, "Could I have the sword she had?" His freind nodded and gave it to him.

The next morning Nezime woke up. The memories of Aria jumping infront
of him flooded back. "Wait.... Hisjin couldn't have shot her and why didn't he shoot me or her later on?" He thought as he layed in bed. A knock on the door instantly brought his mind back to reality and he answered the door. It was a man dressed in all black carrying a case. "Excuse me but who are you?" Nezime asked as he let them in. "We have bad news.... Your partner Aria has died." Nezime fell bakcwards into a chair to shocked to say anything. All he could do was to turn away to hide his tears. "It's ok.... I have seen the most macho guys cry. Her will says her sword falls to you but you must put it into a 'Blazing fire taller than two feet...' and that you made a promise?" The man finished as he lifted a curious eyebrow. Nezime just nodded and the man left some papers on the coffee table.
"I am truly sorry." He said as he closed the door. Nezime read over the paper then
made a fire in his chimney. He threw the sword in and watched the fire in
a dazed manner. Suddenly a blue foxlike creature appeared from the flames.
"You coming or not?" It said irritately. Nezime shook his head fiercly and
rubbed his eyes. "Well? Just step into the fire you dumnut!" It said getting
more annoyed. Nezime just figured he had gone mad and that he would die sooner or later and stepped in.

He found himself in some type of cabbin covered in books. "Why do you summon me and not come in is beyond me!" Grumbled the creature as it made
hot tea. "What are you?" Nezime managed to say. "I am a sargeth. Name is Denard. I am the keeper as they call me. Now how are you related?" He said now more freindly. "Huh?" Nezime said as he took a cup of tea from the sargeth.
Denard rolled his eyes and replied," To Aria!" Nezime gave a puzzled look and answered, " I am her best freind." Denard smiled broadly. "Best freind? Heh heh...
So lover boy how far?" Nezime blushed crimson and set down his cup.
"So you are just freinds...." Denard clapped his hands and a book appearred.
"Read the first line and you will see in your mind a number. Flip to that page and jump in." Denard said casually as he finished his cup of tea. Nezime read aloud, "
Nazeek corinth denidad..." A number flashed into his mind almost too bright to see.
"Page 15...page 15..." He mumbled flipping through the pages. "Hey they have weird little facts in here. 'A gugmer has six mouths...' and this one sounds rather odd, ' Do not pick a pupernit tree but scratch the trunk'. This is cool. " Nezime said as he wrote it down. "WHAT?!?! Why are you reading that?" Denard said in fright.
"It is a book...." Nezime said looking up from his page. "What kind of demon or subhuman are you?" Denard said poking Nezime with his cane. "Sir?" "Vampires only have ice blue eyes or bright red and you don't seem like a werewolf. They always have their fangs....." Denard said studying Nezime like an experiment of some kind. "I am only human." Nezime said setting down his book lightly on the cluttered table. "Yeah I kno- WHAT?! Ha! Demon lords have tried and failed. You think you can beat this sword?" Nezime then rubbed his eyes with confusion and said quietly, " Could you explain what is going on?" Denard narrowed his eyes but replied, " Blood from every race was mixed and blended with the strongest nails of a dragon and with a couple of metals. It was known as 'The Cursed' the strongest sword in all the worlds. Out of human, spirit and demon world it is the most powerful. Many have killed for the sword only dying from it. You see the sword has its own world. And it puts any living thing to the test to see if they are worthy of using the sword. Back when it was most powerful if you touched the sword it would send you here. Centuries passed and a nobleman named Shinjoshi found it in a river bed and picked it up. He took it home and placed it by a fire to dry it quicker. But it sucked him with me.... I was his good freind you see. " With this the blue sargeth gave a toothy grin. "It placed me here in a room filled with books. I couldn't resist being a book lover at heart. I picked up the nearest one and all the sudden all the windows and doors dissappeared. I knew I would never be able to leave, but I didn't know I would be immortal. As long as the sword is kepted I am safe. Anyways... my elfish freind had beaten one of the many test and got to use the sword in the human world. Point is you are the first human to try....."
