Characters: Abandoned RP Windsor Academy
Student

Character name:
Jaycee

Race:
Human

Age:
18-20

Appearance:
Jaycee is fairly tall at around six feet, but his slender form doesn't look fully grown yet. The hair falling just below his shoulders is dark brown, almost black. Large brown eyes are the most expressive part of his light, almost pale face. Overall he seems implacable and confidant, but definitely introverted. He's very neatly groomed, his long hair is often in a tight ponytail, but when he has it down with a center part he is constantly tossing his head to keep it out of his face. His clothes are worn, but equally well kept. He tends to wear dark, loose fitting clothes, and has an odd assortment of western and oriental dress. A thin leather bracelet never leaves his left wrist, and a silver ring with a cross always graces his right hand. The ring is so tarnished it's silvery black, and the bracelet was probably once white, but has been stained so badly that it too is a grey black color.

History:
Jaycee was abandoned as an infant, but by who he's never known. He was found on the doorstep of a proud and brutal noble, wearing only tattered rags. The noble ordered that Jaycee be raised by his guards, feeling that extra protection never hurt. The guard was a family of Japanese mercenaries who sold their martial arts skills to the highest bidder. But the noble's wife took a liking to him and taught him as she would her own son, taking him to church and teaching him all the things a noble should know. The noble was distrusting of this, but gave him the name Jaycee.

His mind was sharp, and he quickly picked up concepts, but he lived in social isolation from much of the world due to the fact that he was neither a true noble, nor part of his adopted oriental family. When he reached seventeen, the noble's wife had him confirmed and gave him a silver ring with a cross, and the noble, fearing that she had become too attached to Jaycee, assigned him as a courier's guard.

In this job, Jaycee traveled many places, and became best friends with the courier, a down on his luck bard. The bard told him many tales of excitement, and taught him a few of the said tales. In the many taverns they stopped by, the bard noticed Jaycee had a talent for deceiving and convincing people and laughingly nicknamed him "Mendaci", a word he said meant "Illusion". Over two years, they became the noble's best couriers, quick and secure.

One day however, on their return from a neighboring noble's kingdom, they found their master's house in flames. A disgruntled lordling from another estate had whipped the peasantry into a rebellion against the noble, saying that the noble's servants had subjugated and oppressed the people using black magiks. They pointed to the noble's oriental guard as proof of this magic. In combination with the noble's brutal policies, the people had revolted, burning the noble alive in his own home.

Both the bard and Jaycee were recognized as part of the old noble's household, and were attacked. They fled, but as they were doing so, the bard was injured. After escaping the angry horde of peasants, the bard declared that they should go to the Windsor Academy. They would be accepted there, and could live peacefully. He also revealed that he knew the basics of magic, and he thought Jaycee might have the same capability. They set off for the Academy, the bard was not fated to make it.

His injury became infected, and soon after he became delirious with a fever. Within two days of his entire family having been burnt alive, Jaycee's best friend died. In the bard's dying breath, he gave Jaycee general directions on how to get to Windsor, and urged him to go there. After a sparse burial, Jaycee took set out to the Academy, with his friend's old leather luck charm and a determination to not let the old bard down.

Abilities:
Jaycee was first and foremost trained as a martial artist, in a style that emphasized balance, and the contrast between extremes for power. His forms are each based off an elemental set, and power is gained by contrasting any two sets. Since he was a child he has trained in it, and is on a low master, or "senpai" level. His specialization was in ideas and strategies, so he's not very strong or skilled with weapons compared to his fellow martial artists. He's very intellectual, and all sorts of book learning comes to him fairly easily. He has no experience with magic, and thus no skill.

Dorm:
MC-15-A

Electives: Telepathy/Telekinesis, and Elemental Magic

Professor

Name:
Richard Howell

Race:
Human

Age:
Appears to be in his sixties.

Appearance:
An elderly man, with a cheerful and expressive face. His hair is shaven in the fashion of a monk's, but he has a large curly white beard. Simple Monastic robes drape around is body, secured by a large belt jingling with numerous medals. A large silver cross hangs down onto his chest and a sturdy walking stick rarely leaves his hands. His voice is loud and boisterous, and when he speaks his hands flail in all sorts of strange gesticulations.

History:
Richard was born into a large family, as a younger son. His father was a poor farmer, but his mother, being a devout christian, decided to send at least one son to seminary. Richard was sent at the age of eight. to a seminary upkept by a group of monks. As he grew, he realized priesthood was not the path for him, his often violent character conflicted sharply with that of what a priest's should be. To cool his temper, he decided to lead a monastic life instead.

He spent his teen and young adult years at the monastary, under the tutelage of an eccentric old monk who immediately took a liking to him. The old man proclaimed he had once been a paladin, and told Richard of his numerous exorcisms using his holy power. The bible spoke of "principalities and powers', which the monk believed he was using for God's will. He taught Richard many of his techniques, and when he died, Richard set out in the path of his mentor.

His skill with magic was strong, and he encountered many hedge witches and weak druids, killing most of them in the name of God. In his travels, he learned of all sorts of curses and blessings from the various victims of his exorcisms, and from monastaries. Each monastary held secrets of power "from God", and while at one such place, Richard encountered a divination scroll. Upon using it, he fell asleep and had a vision.

When he awoke, Richard proclaimed that God had spoken to him, and he must "love his enemy" and "bring back the lost sheep" by teaching them "the true path". Immediately he set out for the Windsor Acadamy, with intent to teach there.

Abilities: Richard's power has faded since his youth, but he is still a powerful magic user. Although he claims to work for God, he has no qualms about using dark magics to accomplish his goals. He specializes in Light and Dark magics, blessings and curses.

Classes Taught: Light & Dark Magic
