Mew Mark: None. Berry's reason for not having a Mew Mark may be because she is infused with DNA of two animals. It may also be because she was infused at close range instead of from a distance with a laser, like the original five Mews, meaning that the DNA entered all over her body instead of at one point, which would be where the Mew Mark would appear (Ryou Shirogane strengthens this). Another reason maybe to an oversight by Ikumi and Reiko, though.

Love interest: Tasuku Meguro. At first, Tasuku was her childhood friend, and she was mainly annoyed by him, by how he would appear out of nowhere and hug her. Later, however, she would start blushing when he was around, and eventually realized her feelings for him.

Upon transformation she sprouts off-white colored bunny ears and a cat tail. Berry gains abilities like jumping higher, hearing things from far away and a taste for vegetables. She seems to have no emotion-triggered power.

Weapon: It's actually Ucha (R2003); He transforms into a staff/wand topped with a upside down strawberry, surrounded by bunny heads. The exact name of this weapon is unknown, possibly because of an overlook by Ikumi and Reiko, but many fans refer to it as "Raspberry Wand", "Strawberry Staff", "Loveberry Rod"(possibly related to her attack name), and variations of those.

This attack could possibly be likely a spin-off to Ichigo's attack.

"Reborn" was incorrectly translated as "Ribbon" in the English version of the manga. In the Japanese manga it was written as riboun, which is "reborn". But, to an English native speaker, it roughly looks like "ribbon", so Tokyopop assumed it was "ribbon" which is seen throughout the entire manga series. However, many fans still call it "ribbon," as do fansubs and fandubs, as a vast mojority of fans do not know the correct translation.

"Ribbon" was to be used only once, the Tokyo Mew Mew fanchise; the opening song of the anime, sang by Rika Komatsu, which sounds very different from riboun. Ribon was never to be present in the manga, but the English version of the manga has "ribbon" present.

Many fans of Tokyo Mew Mew dislike Berry, mostly because she replaced Ichigo. She seems to be a copy of Ichigo, having a similar personality, battle outfit and similar attack name, and strawberry-type things, as this is Ichigo's signature (hence her name means strawberry). The two characters' faces even look alike, with the only major difference being their hair styles. She also took over as leader just like that, and the Mews didn't seem to have an issue with her taking over as leader, which can be seen as odd, as they don't know her as well.

She also seemed to know everything about being a Mew Mew the second she first transformed, which is very strange because the original Mew Mews had trouble getting used to being a Mew Mew. Also, when she first saw a Chimera Anima, she immediately knew what it was. This has led to more than a few disgruntled fans labeling her as a Mary Sue, although her knowing about this could be because she has seen the Mew Mews on TV fighting Chimera Animas before, but she mentions seeing only once, and most likely not in relation to the Chimera Anima. The Mew Mews aren't even mentioned by her until after she becomes one which could be seen as odd.

It should also be pointed out how, when the people were hypnotised into attacking Berry, all the Mew Mews defended her, saying things like "Berry's our best friend forever!" and "You'll never hurt our buddy Berry!" This is strange, as they haven't known Berry for very long.

She also blew her secret of being a Mew Mew to Tasuku a few minutes after she first found out she was a Mew Mew, while Ichigo kept it from Masaya until book five. Her attitude toward blowing her secret to Tasuku is unfavorable to fans ("Isn't it cool? I became a Mew!" wink , as a secret like this isn't something is joke around with, as the Saint Rose Crusaders were going after Tokyo Mew Mew. This has led to many fans labeling her as a complete idiot. Though a la mode is only two volumes, she could have kept her secret until book two, since Ichigo kept her secret toward the end of the series.

She also took a school entrance exam just because of their school uniforms, which could mean she completely blew off their academic specifications, which led her still be labeled as a complete idiot, as it is very strange to go to a school simply for the uniforms, let alone some pre-teens, teens and sometimes parents don't positively comment on school uniforms. It is not mentioned what her parents thought of her transferring schools for the uniforms.

She also seems to have forgotten why Tasuku Meguro hugs her every morning, which relates to her mom's death, and many fans dislike this because it makes her seem like she doesn't care about Tasuku and very insensitive, though Tasuku knew this was coming. It can be seen as very odd, as she said in a flashback that she loved being hugged by her mom, and yet there is no mention of her dad.
