The night, his eyes scanning the area, the cloud befalling over the moon as it's glow covered the forest. The path was clearly seen, even as the cloud cast it's shadows over the forest trees. Though they were cold and void of much care, the dark stare still kept on the path. Such was his life, cold and lonely, and yet still he knew this all along. Why would a young man choose such a life. Raven hair swayed as a cool breeze passed by, the young man not even knowing why he would himself. Yet here he was, alone and hidden within the darkness that had swallowed him all those years ago. In his own abyss, there he was haunted by the eyes of the man he had sacrificed so much, just to kill. The Uchiha that was his brother, Uchiha Itachi. For this was the mind of the young man, Uchiha Sasuke and eyes of a war torn man having no enthusiasm like he did before.
Yet, though he still kept the ambitions to kill his brother, he for now, thought more on the fact that he hurt those he loved. Leaving them in Konoha, was that the best thing to do? Not even Sasuke could turn back time. Knowing full well that he was no longer welcomed in Konoha, he had lived the life of a missing-nin, always aware that there were those who travelled just to kill him. Though, the Uchiha had yet to encounter a single one, the hunter-nin unable to find him. That in itself was perfect for Sasuke, he wouldn't know if he would be able to control himself if his life were in danger. The power that dwelled in him, that the power that killed the sound, the one who had given him the cursed seal to begin with.
The cloak he wore, sandy colour, followed with the black nin shoes. His forehead bare, Sasuke knew he had no honor no right to wear any hitai-ate; really only wanting to wear one. The protector in his pouch, which was behind him, Sasuke remembered the time when he had aquired the hitai-ate of the one he loved. Sighing, he tried to push back those memories, knowing that he was never to see her again, unless it was to kill him. Though the Uchiha had shown no emotion in his eyes for the young kunoichi he truly cared and knew that she was the one who would always stay by his side. A cold foreboding wind blew by the man, as his cloak flew to on side, revealing the black shirt on the nin, his wrapped arms, as he kept on the path.
Sudden steps took the young man by surprise, the Uchiha snapping out of his trance. Looking around, he stared off ahead in the path. Seeing a flash of pink by the moon's light. Though it was behind a mask, he knew that no other female would wear such an attire with ANBU wear, and the pink lockes were a dead give away. Yet seeing her collapse wasn't to the young man's liking. "Sakura? Sakura, wake up!" His concern was heard in his tone as he ran to her side, seeing her lay on the rough path's surface. Going onto his knees, he placed a hand on her back, as he ran it up to her head, and removed her mask, "Damn Sakura! Wake up!"
'Darkness? ..' There were loud thuds and thumps around her. She could hear them but not as clear as she could. Her condition was still unsteady. She couldn't even move her head from left to right, neither her fingers to wiggle a little. The least thing she could do was to breathe and listen. She heard voices.. 'Who is that? The mission.. I can't die! I saw someone! I have to find my team mates! The mission.. Who's calling me? Sasuke..?' The girl was questioning her own thoughts, she had collapsed earlier, near a tree.. near her home in Konoha. 'Konoha..' Pink hair fell over her eyes that were shut tightly, somewhat twitching. 'Need to.. wake up.. It's been.. five years..'
Sakura was soaking wet. Her hair clung to her face. In the battle, it had been raining, she remembered it too well..
"Hey! You! Don't die on me! Did you hear me!?" Sakura was in the rain with random ANBU from Konoha, on a mission.. A mission to kill Akatsuki members. "Wake up! Wake up stupid!" She growled under her breath, then looked from left to right. Sakura put down the limp body in her hands slowly. "I can't die here.." Her green jade eyes darted from left to right. "The Akatsuki. we didn't even kill one of the two!" Suddenly, she saw two figures, filled with her weapons, posion needles..
Slash! A wound in the back. She felt a kick, tripping her. "No.. can't die.. like this!" Sakura hissed in a whisper. The kunoichi threw two more posion needles, at the Akatsuki members. It hit them, sucessfully in their chests. She couldn't move.. Green eyes narrowed in pain, Sakura crawled her way into the forest. "Konoha.. Konoha.. Naruto.. Lee.. My friends.. I've got to.. make it back." She staggered around the forest.. and saw a figure. That's when it went black.
A cough from Sakura came from the physical world. Green eyes were shut tightly, from the searing pain. Blood trickled down her lips. ".. Gh.. S.. S.. Sasuke?" It even hurt talking. Every word. it stung her throat. Sakura tried to sit up, but fell back and failed. She couldn't move that much at all. Her eyes were slightly closed. She opened them halfway staring into the man's before her, everything was blurring. Raven hair.. Those eyes.. clothes.. Sakura coughed out blood. Even in the darkest of times, Sakura would try and be happy, cheerful. Concern.. How she really longed to heart his voice.. Sakura, did the best thing she could. Smile.
The smile, the smile he had longed to see for so long. Though it was faint, he was able to feel the life still in her, but wanted to escape her body. Now would be a good time to use the skill Kabuto had taught him, but Sasuke still had to work out the kinks, he wasn't going to use it if there was a possibility it would kill her. For now the Uchiha, moved his hand behind him and into his pouch, the small bag's top moving as his hand entered the interior. Searching, the young man pulled out a small pill. It was a blood pill, if there was something he could do, it would be to at least stop the internal bleeding. Propping her head upwards, he placed her head on his lap, a finger opening her mouth. "Here....Take this...."
Those words leaving his mouth, so did the pill leave his fingers as it fell into her mouth. Sasuke closed her jaw with a finger and waited for her to swallow it. Her beat up body and garments showed a great battle had ensued and seeing the that wounds and blood were still fresh, not much time had passed. Turning his head to the direction of the village, he closed his eyes enough showing mere slits. To go....Would mean her life will be saved....but....my life would be in danger..... Not much time, only seconds, was the amount of time he contemplated on the decision. Looking down at the nin on his lap, he closed her eyes with his hand, his fingers gently passing over her eyes. "Stay awake, but try to rest...."
With that, he grabbed her shoulders, and got to his feet. The male, crouched down to one knee, and slid his hands down her arms, as he pinned them to her side. Lifting, he threw the girl over his shoulder, her stomach upon his right shoulder. Placing a hand on the bottom of her back, his finger pressed against her waist, he looked back at her, her head looking on at the path behind him. "I won't let you die..." Taking a step, he began to run, the wind passing by them both, his raven hair flying behind him as did his other arm as his speed picked up. The hand upon her back, kept the pink haired kunoichi on his shoulder, so not to fall.
The gates of the village of the leaf were in the clearing, his eyes focusing on the sight of two men standing on guard outside. The young Uchiha had learned the art of silent killing, but for now he was to use the 'silent' part, as he jumped into a tree, not even a movement of the branch heard. The leaves kept in place, as he jumped from limb to limb, keeping Sakura on his shoulder. Taking a single leap, he and the young woman, were airborne as he flew in the night sky, high over the boundaries of the village. His feet landing a top the roof of a near by home, as he scanned the area, seeing the street empty the night having forced the villagers into their beds. Though night had fallen over the leaf, one place was opened for people such as Sakura, the young man taking to another roof top, and stopped at one.
The sign 'Konoha Hospital' was clear on the board which was placed over the doors to the facility. Only shadows were seen as, as the doors opened, the young man entering with the female up on his shoulder. The receptionist at the front desk stood in their way, but that beiing the Uchiha's intention. Just as the female receptionist turned her back to face the desk, only a shadow dashed out of sight, the woman forced to jerk her head to the door as as cool breeze entered from the closing doors. The receptionist went to face the desk, turning her attention away from the door, widening her eyes as she saw the pink haired ANBU on her desk. She turned her head and called the doctors as they rushed to the Sakura.
Sasuke was able to see it all from where he stood. The moon's light down poured on him, as if keeping the night from him, though within himself he was in a perminant darkness. His eyes kept on the hospital as he watched the doctors move in on Sakura, and take her deeper into the hospital.
