In fourth period, I look out the window and see the sun shining bright, even with a few clouds around. I look up from my Spanish worksheet, and I see the clouds slowly turning a dark blue, and black. I think, nah. It wont rain.
A few moments later the lights flicker. My teacher starts telling a story from a few years ago; when the power went out at 7:30 in the morning, and the pricipal told all the bus drivers to turn around and take everyone home.
There were a few minutes left until the final bell, and as i was gathering my things, the room went pitch black. I could hear a few screams from next door, of girls being immiture. Our teacher went ahead and let us go.
As I walked out of the maind double doors, the icy chill hit me like a ton of bricks. As I walked further out, The rain and wind decided to Emurge. They were blowing in the opposate direction as I was. By the time I got to the bus parking lot, my hair was soked, and I couldn't feel my toes. With my luck, I was wearing Flip-Flops.
All of the busriders were standing helplessly in the rain, waiting around 30 minutes for our bus to come from the middle school.
We were standing for maybe 5 minutes when the wind and rain start blowing harder and harder.' You could hear people screaming when they tried to walk against the wind, or if their umbrella broke. Soon everyone's was. Everyone was huddled in little groups together, trying to keep the rain from slaming into their faces like cold ice cicles. The two ladies on bus lot duty were huddled under a tiny black umbrella, until it flew away.
It felt like forever, but the buses finally pulled in. My friend and i began walking to the bus, against the wind. We could barely keep our eyes open because the freezing rain was hitting our faces, and going in our eyes.
As i climed on the bus, all the bus driver could say was, yall are soaked. When i looked up from the steps, i saw all of the middle schoolers, nice, dry, and warm. They didn't have to wait in the rain. They snickered and teased when the girls' hair was a mess, or when the guys' sneakers were soaked.
Just as we sat down, and drove down the strip to go home, it stopped raining, and what do you know, with my luck, it started pouring again when my stop came up.
