Appearance: Otto is a bum, through and through. The clothes he wears look like months old rags. Going by his disheveled, oily hair and dirty face and fingernails, he rarely, if ever, bathes. Understandably, the smell is rank. Otto's mottled brown and darker brown skin condition and the constant swarm of black flies and the presence of other such bugs around him tend to keep people away anyways. Otto constantly shuffles and slouches with a height of 5'10". Oddly enough, he appears to be in reasonably good shape at 187 lbs. However, he won't be running any marathons, or even a couple blocks anytime soon.

History: Otto's story before arriving on Gaia takes place on a backwater world devastated by plague, nuclear war and other such calamities. The world itself has no name, though Capital City was the city in which Otto was born. Otto was born a man and woman, two degenerate citizens of a crumbling government. Compared to growing up on, say, Modern-day Earth, Otto's childhood was a living hell. Every day he was forced to sleep on a lice-ridden mattress, drink irradiated water, eat irradiated food and breathe irradiated air. As such he came to possess a few mutations, the most obvious being the altered pigmentation of his skin. The other side to his mutations, the unsanitary attraction of flies, roaches, lice, etc. didn't go as noticed in his world's society.

Otto's education, as you might imagine, was non-existent. He never learned to read or write. Language was another matter. His world's society wasn't so collapsed that people could not hold coherent conversations...there just wasn't a whole lot to talk about.

Otto's experiences were wide and varied. As a child he had a horrible education. His parents were caring however, and did as much as they could to shield him from harm. At twelve years old he witnessed his first murder, and through the years after that he became accustomed to it. At fifteen, Otto participated in his first protest which subsequently collapsed into a riot. During the five years afterward Otto first ran away from home, disappearing into the labyrinthine Understreets of Capital City then participated in raids on various warehouses in search of food and munitions in the many turf wars and uprisings. The Understreets could be compared to the lower levels of Coruscant, only multiply the smell a thousand fold and tack on radioactive waste and plague-ridden creatures for good measure. It was here that Otto's mutation escalated into superhuman abilities, though they were hardly 'Super' in nature.

Quirks:

Because of the picky nature of parasitic/symbiotic buddies, Otto can't smoke. Not only is nicotine poisonous to his Swarm, any kind of smoke is hazardous to his bugs, not to mention it gives Otto headaches and nausea and will eventually lead into a coma and death of Otto cannot exit the area affected by the smoke.
