I just felt like writing this because I've been thinking of doing this for the last few weeks...
I'm in a creative writing class right now and I've been wanting to write a bunch of songs for so long. I've also been working on like four or five story ideas (most slowly coming along.)
The most recent idea is for my old Dungeons & Dragons character Atara Karek. The story with her is she is half-orc, half-elf, and therefore she is largely unwanted by the world. When she is found by a group of people questing to take revenge on one of the orc tribes who are largely responsible for destroying their lives, she joins to live out her life-long quest of killing her father...Complicated story-ish-ness...
One of the others are a couple stories (kinda a trilogy, but I'll work on the sequels once the first one is completed) about students at a high school in a PSA/Mini-Documentary contest who choose to do their entry on school violence. Deals with different characters going through some extremes...I really love this story idea, but it's also complicated-ish-ness...
Yet another is a story I started in high school titled, "Ignite." In that story a teenage girl suffering from depression (and I labeled her a pyromaniac, but I'm not sure if my portrayal makes any real sense with what a pyromaniac actually is...) who tries to commit suicide by self-immolation, in turn burning down her family's life. She is saved from this fire, but with major burns everywhere on her body. She is visited in the hospital by a boy with a very dark past. Together, they make the journey of recovery...there's a bit more to the story, but yeah...logistics are complicated so that's why it's been so many years. razz
The last real story I can remember starting involves a girl who was born as an experiment in bioterrorism, being injected with dna of (I'm not sure what animal because a friend has informed me vampire bats would make no sense...so yeah) as a fetus. For seventeen long years, she's been kept in her parents house; her only links to the outside world is her outside time after dark and the window in her room that looks down upon the street below. After meeting a loner boy one night, she starts a journey towards independence from her captive existence...I came up with the idea by sitting at a window in the apartment my family was renting this last school year and looking down the road. I also like fantastic storylines sometimes. ^_^
But yeah...and I write songs or parts of songs or poems a lot...
I thought maybe I would post some of my stuff up here on my journal...So yeah...look for it if you would like...
My main idea was songs I hope to write in the future and school assignments maybe. (Those might have elements of my stories in them or something... razz ) I am overflowing with emotions-dejection, depression, loneliness, romantic ideation, love, fantasies, curiousity, paranoia, adventure, cuteness, etc...so I think my song writing will pick up very soon...(OOPS! I must define that at least right now by songs I mean lyrics. I can sing and play a bit of ukulele and piano and very little guitar and drums, but I can't write instrumental pieces for my lyrics. That doesn't mean though that I don't know how they should be sung razz hehe...but yeah anyway...) Also, this morning I was listening to Arch Enemy's My Apocalypse and the first verse really struck a chord with my inner-muse ( *Sudden implosion of silenced emotions, Buried beneath a scarred heart for too long, Delusions of hope fading away, Dying like leaves on frozen soil...* ) because I feel like that is close to me when I'm really low and depressed...but yeah...
I have to go to bed, so yeah, that is all I wanted to say...Catch ya'll later.
