We spent three short months together
We've spent three whole years apart
And to this very day you're still alone and in the dark.
Now I've tried to be nice,
I say 'I love you" when I don't
I ask you to accept that but it's obvious you won't.
Sure, we used to stay up late, chit-chat on the phone
But when given the choice I would much rather be alone.
So I'm done running this race,
Playing your silly little games.
I need to let you go before you let me go insane.
We spent dreamy days together
We've spent steamy nights apart
And to this very day you still aren't very smart.
Now I've tried to be nice,
I say 'I love you' when I don't.
I ask you to accept that but it's obvious you take that as a joke.
Well, I guess that what they say is true;
That the one that you love will never 'Love you too'
Well I'm not going to humor you.
Just get that through your head and move on to someone new.
