The original rant
This is the original rant that was in my about me section of my profile. I've moved it here. It was written in May 2010
****************************************

Hmm, yes, well. I like to play zOMG! but it gets frustrating because so many of the players are STUPID, really really STUPID, I mean they don't listen and it makes me want to HACK them and SLASH them and ... well, you get the idea. It's not good, in real life I'm a kind and patient person, but these idiots make me crazy, they make me want to HACK them and SLASH them and... ahem, sorry!

I just really want to find intelligent people to crew with, so the only people I'm adding as friends are those I've actually crewed with and found to be good players, or people I actually know in real life.

If you would like to learn to play better, go read the Guides & Resources Sticky in the zOMG! forum. I especially recommend the Newbie guide, Bria's Guide (which has lists of the quests in each section, the CL for each section, and maps) and the Guide to rings.

Some of these are out of date, but still useable. You'll also find many interesting posts in the zOMG! Forum, like discussions of rings, or tactics. Go and browse now and then!

Some of the things that most irk me:

Everyone should share buffs! One person can't really carry very many, so sharing is a way to get well-buffed. Especially, if you have a crew, take the time to have everyone go to null, and get different buffs so as to have as many as possible. Rage up and buff before entering an area like DMP or the Doll Shrine or the Wolf Den or the Sawmill. This seems to me to be just good sense, but hardly anyone does it.

The other tip which I try and try to tell people, and they don't listen mostly and it makes me want to HACK them and SLASH them and... oops, sorry again!

Anyway, it's very simple. The enemy comes in waves in all of these places. If you leave one alive, the next wave will not come out till it's dead. This means you can take the time for everyone in your crew to heal and regain stamina, and if they've been dazed, their rings can unlock, and you can all re-buff. Then, when everyone is totally ready, you can kill that last one and the next wave will come. You can keep the last one at bay by using cc rings like scaredy cat, gumshoe, or duct tape.

This tactic will allow you to easily succeed on hard level, earning lots of orbs.

Unfortunately, there's always some fool who just shoots everything, and starts the next wave while everyone is low on stamina and health. These jackasses make me want to... oh, never mind.

Speaking of which, choose your crew wisely! Look at their character info, check out their rings. If all they have is weapons, they are unlikely to be any good to you, because they will just shoot and shoot and run out of stamina and get you all dazed, making you want to...you know.

Have a plan, and tell everyone and make sure they understand. Kick anyone who fails to follow your instructions after you've given them sufficient chance.

Also, keep your crew panel open!! This allows you to keep an eye on everyone's health and stamina, and make sure buffs are still in place. Don't forget to re-buff people after they are dazed.

Keep the chat window open too! Communication is important, it's how you will know when everyone is ready, and what the plan is.

I hope these simple and sensible tips will help you!

HAVE FUN!!

I'm in the Old Aqueduct now. If you have questions about the earlier parts of the game, feel free to pm me, and I will try to answer them, or tell you where to find the answer! Heck, I may even be available to join your crew and help!

Update, Jun 10 - Apparently the game gets radically more difficult after Bassken Lake! The Old Aqueduct definitely needs crew, so if you see me online and want to do anything there, let me know!!

And don't take my earlier rant too seriously - I realize that I probably seem dumb sometimes too wink The people I hate are the ones unwilling to learn. I definitely love having advice! LOL

It's just that so many people seem witless, not to mention impatient. And why would anyone start the next round of saws when everyone is low on stamina and health??? Why? I see idiots who with their own stamina at 2 run over and kill a saw and start the next wave... Sorry, but I really DO think this is stupid.
