Some thoughts:
Rename the series Anita Blake: Sexcapade Hunter...
If Merry and Anita ever met I'd say there 95% chance they have sex....
It's only a matter of time before Edward and Anita have sex ....
One last thing, I read a breakdown someone did of Incubus Dreams. Only 15% of the book was dedicated to real plot whike the remaining 85% was sex and angst.

If you dislike how the series is taking, why are you still reading it?
Perhaps it was not you, but whoever said that Hamilton's works are degenerating needs to get something straight. The writing style and skill has not changed, if it has, it has been for the better. There has been improvement in Hamilton's writings since her first books. Just because you don't like the content, does not mean the style is defunct.
There's little to no plot in the past few books? Apparently serial killer vampires don't count for much. And whoever said Micah revolves solely around Micah's p***s is cracked in the head. There was only one sex scene in the book, and the p***s discussion, was more about his intimacy issues, rather than the actual p***s.
And I highly doubt that sex between Edward and Anita is even plausible. All the people Anita has had sex with (I counted, and the number is eight - nine, if you count her ex-fiance from college, but not shown), she has had some sort of sexual tension between her and each guy, except maybe Byron. It's a stated fact that the ardeur prefers romantic history and neither Anita, nor Edward have ever had a romantic thought in conjuction with each other. You could just as soon say, she'd screw Dolph. Which she most definitely wouldn't. She separates business and her personal life, no matter how many "sexcapades" she goes on. That aspect of her personality has not change, and is not likely to change.
Hamilton has set up several plot directions. Perhaps you missed these set ups, (not dead ends) because you've all been so distracted by the sex.
At this point, I believe some of us are reading the books out of past loyalty or just humoring it. I'm hoping she gets off her damn a** and write something with actual plot. YES, she has set up plot for the next books, but that have seriously degenerated to nothing more then paperback dime novels compared to what they were. She was innovated at one point, now she is predictable. Oh, and sex every 6 to 12 hour, not possible. That's not supernautural surrealism, no, that's physical impossiblites and Hamilton becoming a nymph. She hasn't had a serious police case since OB. Don't you there mention that crappy Jack the Ripper-esque vamps killing the strippers. It was done horribly, Hamilton forgot about it till the last minute of the book, and in the last 10 chapters decided to rush it. It's not like how Laughing Corpse was like, when it was all about the police cases with a side of the supernatural and touch of lust. I am nostaligic of those days.
Anita Blake is nothing more then a third rate Mary Sue from fanfiction at this point. No one loves a hero that's invincable and godly. rolleyes
Oh and while sex between Edward doesn't sound plausible, neither is Antia having sex with a gay guy. I wouldn't put it past LKH to try it, and she probably will. stare
Is this person really qualified to b***h about grammar and spelling? I think not. She needs to run her own spell check before bitching about other people.
There is also such a thing as character development. Where would any character be if they did not change or develop? They'd become stagnant. You know, dead. Boring. I wonder what these people complaining about too much smut would suggest. Hmm, going to go post that question now.
