Kai's POV
How to birds fly?
I've asked myself this question so many times that I've lost count. When i ask, Yuri will snort and say, "With their wings you idiot."
Yeah, with their wings. I happen to know that already Yuri. Thats the kind of answer i expect from Takao. But that's not the answer im looking for. I want to know how they fly.
It seems like every bird in the world can fly, 'cept Penguins of course, but they don't count.
When i asked Grandfather if Phoenix's could fly, he laughed and said yes.
His answer confused me. If they could fly, why can't I. Why can't i jump on Dranzer and fly away. I remember Grandfathers answer to that question.
"Kai Hiwatari, you cant fly, you can't fly because you are a caged bird."

Why is it, when I hold Black Dranzer in my hand, I feel so strong, so unimaginably powerful?
Black Dranzer tells me things, when I reach for Dranzer instead of her before a match. She whispers promises of Power, and Invincibility.
I reach for my blue blade and let her rip, watched her ricochet off the wall and back onto the snow covered stone court yard.
I don't use her because i don't want the things she offers me.
I want to fly.

When Grandfather was but behind bars, along with Boris, I was so sure my Cage was gone. I was free now, without the threats from my own blood keeping me trapped.
I was so wrong.
Because when i walked outside my bedroom, and let Dranzer go, she sat on the ground and stared up at the sky, like it was some unattainable thing.
My last member of my family was right.
I'll never fly.
Because im his caged bird.
