Thats the only reason I live still." The old man gave a sigh and then sttod up. 'Well it was about time I met you, and I am glad to have. Now, I have to depart, I have much to do. We will take again. In the future."
I had stood suddenly, determined not to let him go but then he did the impossible. he vanished into thin air. My eyes went wild as I looked about for him, to catch his scent in the air, but I had no such luck in finding him. He was simply gone. With a sigh I headed back to the festivities and too my new wife Selina. Determined to have a good day, and night.
And I did.
The next year pretty much was a blur. I had gained the trust and favor with most of the villagers and had been amongst the village helping where I could. be it harvesting food, making repairs, or simply being with my wife. Her and the elders of the village had been talking lately and had decided to let me in on a secret.
"Fujiwara, as you know. You are a demon-kin. This gives you power that the demon has as well. You have augmented strangth, cat like reflexes, an extremely fast healing factor, night vision, you also have mastery of cats."
I was confused at this part. "You mean I can control the cats in the surrounding area?"
The elders shook there head. "We doubt this, but you should be able to communicate with them, what we mean is, you have the ability to take the form of an cat you could ever want. Be it a large jungle cat, or a small normal housecat.
Still confused, I asked: "How? My body is so large, how am I too become as small as a housecat?"
The elders replied with a smile, "This is what we will be training you to do next."
So thats how I began my next part of traning. The elders and Selina helped me with this, instructing me on the transformation process. The entire time I had never asked them how they new so much, but apart of me figured that my grandfather had instructed them to instruct me. It was actually pretty easy. I just had to think of the cat and then will myself into that form. When I asked about what happened to my body the elders became alittle sketchy and one actually shrugged and said: "It simply goes someplace else."
At the end of the year I hadnt completely mastered it, but i was getting good, and about that time I had been anticapating something marvelous. Selina had become preganant, and she was due to deliver soon. The villages doctor had been over to our hut often and had actually taken Selina away to her hut where she could keep a better eye on her. The four days she was away were horrible, and nerve wracking, and on the fifth day, Selina went into labor. After a few hours of delivery, and after they had made my wife presentable I was allowed in to see her, and, too my surprise, the two newborns.
When I entered the hut I was imediately facing Selina, who cradled to sleeping newborns, both whom were girls. Neither of them had Nekals mark, the tails or ears, they weren't neko-jin, nor demon-kin. I smiled at this and approached, quietly. Selina simply smiled up at me and said in a whisper. "Meet your children dear one. i have named them Mai and Ariah."
