Chapter ONE
Immediately after the events of Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora, Kairi(and in turn, Roxas and Namine), and Riku all returned to the Destiny Islands. 10 years later Sora and Kairi ended up getting married, and Riku fell in love with a girl named Hope and got married to her. There was peace and the Keyblade Masters were not needed to fight evil,so they had time for themselves. Sora and Kairi had 2 kids, one boy, one girl, named Cory and Kira. the two were nearly identical, save for the fact that Cory was blond, while Kira was a brunette. Blond hair did not run in Sora's family, nor Kairi's. Riku and Hope had a son as well, named Alex, and another son 5 years later, Nick. A year after Nick was born, Riku had taken the kids out to the beach in front of the house to play. Hope was inside cooking dinner. A while later, the house caught fire while Hope was inside. He told Alex to Go to Uncle Sora's house and call 9-1-1. However, Riku went inside to save his wife. about 10 minutes into the search, a beam fell on him and broke his back, and he fell unconcious. when the fire department found him and he woke up, they had terrible news. His wife was dead, and he would never walk again. Nick was only a year old and would never remember, but Alex would be forever traumatized by the accident.
As for the kids, Nick, Alex, Cory, and Kira new each other since birth and were the best of friends as well as inseparable, even though Nick was 5 years younger. 9 years later, Cory, Nick, and Kira were all 15, and Nick was 10.Kira liked to wear bright colors and short sleeved shirts, and loved to show off her long hair. she loved to swim, and did whenever she could.She was very social and had many friends. Cory was her polar opposite. He wore dark clothing and tended to hide his face in hoods. He was very reserved, and tended not to chat with just anybody. he rarely hung out with anybody but Kira, Alex, and Nick. He tended to wake up in the middle of the night, troubled by dreams, often not able to fall asleep for the rest of the night. If provoked, he could be very violent, and often got in fights. The only timed Cory ever seemed happy was when he was with Kira.Alex was dark and brooding to everyone except to his friends and brother. He tended to take a wooden sword and whack a tree until a coconut fell and sit under the tree and drink from it. He taught Nick how to handle a sword before nick could even talk, and liked to practice with him a lot. The only person he was ever truly open to was his brother. Nick was a tad shy, but could be very outgoing and helpful at times. He may have been 10, but he was deep and acted much, MUCH older, as if he new he was destined for something. He often hung out with Cory, Kira, and Alex as if there was no age difference. All of them did swordfight, and often had free-for-all and tournament battles. Cory used two swords and was very adept at using them. Often Cory and Alex would be the last two standing in the end, but noone would be able to tell the winner until it happened. they were all good at swordfighting, though, and any two of them could beat a group of 4 of anyboby else on the island. Not many others tried, though.
The four might as well have been related by blood, for they were already related in one, not-so-simple way:
