History & Power

There are many tales of how the bloodline came to be, but the most accepted one is the tale of the Night Weaver. For upon receiving her brother's gift of the most violent winds, the humble Night Weave sought ways to control. She tried many things, but could find no way to control it. Seeking aid for her problem, she sought her handmaidens, mortal females whose loyalty of the mighty goddess turned them into her maidens. Upon hearing the problem, the maidens told the Goddess to give it them. Each of them then took pieces of the vicious and violent winds and took it into themselves. Some months later, they all gave birth to those that are now of the 2 famous bloodline. While no one can back up the story, it is interesting considering the fact that the ladies of the Vitr'ani all wield their violent winds like weapons.

This is the only bloodline were females almost completely dominate. There are few males among their ranks and they rarely get noticed. Most males stay with the walls of their town become smithies, craftsmen, and the like. Females are almost expected to be off roaming around, seeing as once they have completed their training they often eager to claim a title. They have a hard time staying in one place, often bouncing from one place to another. Which, along with their naturally aggressive natures, seems to reinforce the old story about them. Their stories are often dotted with examples of their brave warrior queens and fine lady fighters like Queen Maxi the Windbreaker and Juna the Wind Slayer. Some of the overly serious warrior wear mask like the Night Weaver does when comes to bring souls to the Peaceful Realms.

Physical Appearance
The females of the bloodline, have red eyes which supposedly shows their link to the Night Weave who has red eyes. The red eyes allow them to cut through the dark pretty well and makes their eyes slightly sensitive to the sunlight. They are often pretty lean and come off as small in their 5 - 5'6" height. They also have some pretty hard nails...though in truth they are more like claws.

The males of the race of this bloodline, are basically the same height, but instead of intense red eyes they had silver or deep grey. They are also pretty lean, but some build muscle from forge work.

Strengths

- Their claws, or as they call them elegantly long and hard nails, are pretty tough and if the winds don't get you. The nails probably will.

- Naturally being blessed with wind powers, they are pretty fast and flexible.

- They're wind abilities reach about two time their arm length, unless they are launching their winds.

- Some can do what is know as the "shriek". Plug your ears and pray that you are not near any glass when they do.

Weaknesses

-They are aggressive and possessive. Even the rational, calm ones have an 'don't push button'. When hit they will go off and please remember not to steal from them.

- Their wind abilities only reaches twice their arms length, unless they launch it. However manipulating the winds takes energy and the more they use the more tired they get.

- They all hate confined spaces.

- They're bodies and their abilities make fighting with a big sword impossible and fighting those that wield them kinda tricky. Well more than kinda.

- Long range fighting for most of them is hard. There are a few who specialize in it, but most prefer up close and in your face type fighting. Hand to hand and all that.

Syrasri

Character Name: Tamarai
Nation: None
Land: Sulyll
Knowledge of the line: This bloodline is believed to be a branch from the Rune Writers or from the same place. They uses magical circle to enchant or enhance weapons, their bodies, and anything else they can get their hands on. Combative and speedy, there is a lot of surprises in their thin frames about those from this line.

Tamarai was so behind. Here she sitting alone in the Totaka Girl Study. Isolated, not because of any action of her own. Though no one forced her to procrastinate. No, she was bound to the girl's study room because she was behind. The lazy noon sun shun through the clear panes of glass, lighting up her cluttered work table. Piles of papers, were scattered over hidden books and ink jar while pens and sketch pencils played the nearly falling off the desk game. Yet none the mess was helping her and with scarcely two week in till the final exam was due, she still had nothing!

She bit her lip as she scrabbled through shifts of papers on her desk to find the stack of books she had taken out. She had finally decided that a flying project might be the easiest out of all. Since most of the circles didn't require much, but man was she wrong. As she flipped through the chapters looking over diagrams and charts her heart sank. Some of these circles were far from easy.

Why can't there be a simple Flying Circle! she thought in frustration as she slammed another book shut. Picking up another, she flipped through the glossary and the pages. Searching, There was the tracer stone, which could be used to have an object "fly" to it, when called. Though, Tam knew that one of her mates were already using that one. Picking up another book, she flipped through disheartened. Right, choosing flying circles. They'll be easy, she mockingly joked with herself, when she heard the door creaked open.

Turning around to scold whoever had disturbed her, she noticed that it was merely the weekly cleaning broom. It had been the first object she had ever enchanted, albeit with 7 others to aid her. It came out of its closet, literally, once a week to pick up all the paper, dirt, and dust of their floor and sweep it out to the waiting trash bind. Which would, according to rumor, make its long and lonely journey to the heart of the building where the burning room was. No one had seen if this was true, or even knew if there was a burning room. All Tam knew was that she was happy for the distraction. Even if it meant watching the tedious dance of a broom.

She watched it as she busily brushed up hair strains, rug fibers, dust and dirt. Thinking. The device she created, she enchanted had to be useful. Or Marketable, as her mother liked to call it. One can't get shiny jewel by selling air. Still it had to be original and she basically knew what everyone else was making for their projects. Since most had completed their earlier that month. No, it I have to to go beyond creative...I have to go...Marketable! she thought as she tapped her finger against the back of her chair, her eyes still absently following the broom.

She stopped tapping. Her eyebrow raised as she felt a buzz of excitement and realization hit her, It could work...and I might even have time to pull it off!

With that, she sprinted from the room. Only to come staggering back in about an hour later, burdened by the thrown away broom handle, one of her failed experiments, a large gem she kept around to practice circles on, along with a few other. Let the mess fall over the raised dais in the center of the room, she sorted through them as excitement buzzed in her; fitting pieces together she hoped that they would stay together and taking her large hammer to them when they didn't.

She ended up breaking her gem a bit, but she figured she could just stick the extra gems into the broom handle. Shrugging acceptance at that idea, she walked over the small shelf in the study picking out a book titled, Simple Speed Enchantments. Bring over her ink jar and brush, she settled on the dais again as she flipped eagerly through the book. Stopping at the diagram she wanted, she opened up a space for her work on the messy dais surface and then pulled over her ink and brush.

She started in the center. Following the diagrams design, mimicking the curves, spirals, and line. Feel ever growing anticipation, excitement, and joy at each stock. Once she was done she didn't wait to see if it dried, she knew most of it already had, she placed the gem which she had smashed into the gripper device and then netted, along with all the smaller pieces in the center of the circle. Once she had what she want placed where she wanted, Tam placed her finger tips on the edge of the circle and closed her eyes. Focusing on finding the well-spring of energy and sending a small pray of thanks to the Great Mother before letting her energy flow outward.

Opening her eyes, she witnessed as the markings of the circle came a live with light. Rich blue light, her energy pulsing through, reaching out and filling the gems. As the light died, she sighed letting the tension ease from her body. Glancing out the window, she stared at the pink, orange, purple, twilight sky. As the Bright Lady conceded the sky to her brothers. A few bird flapped by the window and Tamarai could hear the distant sound of the water slapping against the solid sides of her current home.

Step one complete! she thought smiling as wariness and tiredness dragged on her. Tomorrow beginning part two of my most ingenious project yet!
