Kabyrr the Insane
For Personal Referance.

The basic tip is "buy low, sell high"... and no, you dont need a lot of gold to go buying expensive items and trying to sell them for a lot more, you can work with 10k items, 5k items, even 500g items. The best place to start if you have practically no gold (1k or less) is the market. You can copy your password (ctrl + C) and paste it (ctrl + V) to make buying things faster (trust me, you'll need to). Start out by buying event items. We just had an event, so you should be able to make money by looking for cheap things to buy (even commons) by sorting things in "Time Remaining" and trying to catch them in the last 15 or less seconds. Make sure to pay attention to the bid increment, because that can mess you up sometimes xp . Also make sure to click "Bid Now" or whatever and watch the Bid page for the time, not the whole listing. Once you win some of those things, you can then sell them and make measly profits like 50-200g. This isn't a lot, but it does mean that you'll have 3k pretty soon. Once you get that much, you can go to buying pandy packs and hard shell packs and other donation items, making 500g profit or more. Try to not buy for less profit than that, because you may not sell and instead just make the value of an item go down. Familiarize yourself with prices in the market quickly by deciding on certain things you want to fucus on and searching for that item by "Lowest Buy Price". After you gain 20-30k, you'll probably want to start buying items in the market, then taking them to the Exchange forum, asking for item offers. Item offers are the best way to get more than you're looking for, but sad to say, you have to be a little mean. My policy is if you don't know the values of your items and offer them on something, paying too much.. it's too bad for you. I must say, though... don't do the backwards thing that some selllers do and say you value by some price guide, then price your item above what that price guide values the item. However, it's okay to look at the Market on Lowest Buy Price listing and subtract 500g-1k from the value of an item, to keep in mind how much you can sell it for.

Last notes are.. 1-5am is the best time to get good deals from the market and the exchange (because people are deperate to get rid of the item and sell for too low).. however it is the worst time to sell things because there's like 4 users on (okay more than that, but not many). Also, sometimes you may get lucky enough to get some 5k item for 5g.. or some 200k item for 200g/2k/20k and most likely the person will PM you when they realise their mistake and ask you to return the item. You are NOT obligated to return their item and you can't get banned for not doing so, no matter what they say (and actually, you can get them banned if they keep pming you and write nasty things about you in their journal, for harassing you). Remember, the confirm page is there for a reason.. it's there fault that they weren't careful with their "precious" item. If you decide you wont return mistakenly priced items, I also ask that you don't expect others to return them to you, if you make a mistake.
