Chapter 8 to the Devil's Forum

The four kids ran in the downpour. None of them said a word to each other on the way there. Half way there, Terra had second thoughts.
"Hey guys?"
"What?" Sean replied.
"I'm scared, I don't want to do this, I saw his body once, and I don't ever want to see anything that horrible again."
"I'll walk you home then. Wait, who'se that?" Sean wondered. Someone in a car was pulling up to them.
"Hey, you guys look a little wet, need a ride?"asked a young girl's voice.
"Depends, who'se asking?" demanded Bill.
"I'm dissapointed, I thought you guys would've recongnized my voice. It's me, Eryka, hop in."
"Thanks, we're going to Bill's," sighed Kim. "Just drop us off."
"What, you're not inviting me in?"
"Can't personal reasons. Oh, drop Terra off at home." grimly said Bill
"Ok."
Again, there was an eerie sillence among the teens. First, Eryka dropped off Terra at her house, then she turned around to go to Bill's
"Kim, Bill?" Seaned started to talk.
"Yeah" they responded.
"I hope...that you're ready for anything."
"Look, we all stared death in the face not too long ago, and we're still here, and if we have to, we'll do it again." stated Bill.
"What are ya'll talking about?" asked Eryka.
"Nothing that concerns youu, I don't want you involved in this." said Kim.
"Fine, suit yourself."
Five minutes later, they pulled up at Bills house. It looked no different on the outside. Christmas lights still strewn up since noone cared to take them down. Half the roof shingles were missing. Large patches of grass were either dead or overgrown with weeds due to neglect.
Kim, Bill and Sean got out of Eryka's car, and slowly walked to the door. They all looked at each other enxiously, and Sean nodded, knowing what had to be done. Once he had opened the door, what they saw was the most hideous thing any of them had seen in all their lives.
The first thing they noticed, was the body. It was beated and mauled so badly, Bill couldn't even recognize it at first. There were gashes, cuts, and bruises everywhere. One of the corpse's eyes were missing, and there was a foul stench in the air. The walls, which were usually an off-white color, had been stained crimson with his father's blood.
"Oh...my....God!" gasped Kimmi, as her face flushed pale as a ghost.
"D-dad!" Bill broke out into tears. "I diddn't mean for this to happen. I-I diddn't wish for this!"
"What!?" Snapped Sean. "What are you talking about? What did you have to do with this?"
"After he locked me out, I said he would pay for this, I diddn't expect this though!"
In the distance, Eryka was slowly exiting her car, only to be spotted by Sean.
"Get back in the car!" Sean yelled at her.
"Wait! Kim, look out!" Eryka yelled as she charged toward the house.
Kim quickly looked away from the body, regained her composure, and ducked out of the creature's way.
"Get down!" Eryka yelled.
BANG! BANG!
"Is it dead yet?" she asked as she started to reload another clip into her callico.
"Where the hell did you get that gun from?" wimpered a pale faced Bill.
"I keep it in my glove department. Protection. Good thing too, or else Kim would've ended up looking like him." she said as she pointed to Bills deceased father.
"Ok, one, I told you to stay in the car! Two, how in the world can you keep your cool seeing things like this?" asked Sean.
"I work part time at a hospital, I'm used to it."
"It moved..." wimpered Kim.
BANG! BANG! BANG! She shot the demon three more times, and that was the end of it.
"I'll call the cops, then, let's go home." Kim shook "I just want this to be over with."
"Same goes double for me." trembled Sean.
"I'll be the one to stay and explain, you three, go home." Boldly spoke Bill.
"Ok, we will." Said Sean.
"Anyone mind explaining what's going on?" Asked Eryka.
"Don't worry about it, I'll tell you in the car." volunteered Sean.
"Ok thank you."
"See you later, Bill, good luck with the cops." Kim said.
"Thanks, just go." whined Bill.
"Ok, bye." Eryka said as she walked out.
"Later dude." Said Sean.
While they were in the car, Sean and Kimmi explained the situation to her. Eryka looked in shock but took in every word.
"Look, I'm sorry that I got you involved in this, that's why I diddn't want u anywhere near us." apologized Sean.
"I understand, but I'm actually glad I'm in this. I needed some adventure in my life. I'll stick with you guys til the end if I have to. You owe me, Kim, I saved your life."
"Oh, yeah, I know...I'll find a way to repay you."
"I was joking, Don't worry about it, I'm sure that this isn't the last time Ol' Trusty will save us."
As she pulled up to Sean's house, he thanked her and got out. He truned around and waved goodbye to them and proceeded to walk inside. On the way to Kim's house, they saw a car, engulfed in flames.
"What's that?" Kim asked.
"Dunno, but I did see that car at Bill's house earlier."
"Then it was Bill's dad's girlfriend. What a horrible way to go." spoke Kim.
"I'll call Bill and the cops when I get home, ok?"
"Will you do that for me, Eryka."
"Yeah. No problem."
When they finally pulled up at Kim's house, she thanked her one more time, and got out.
"Meet us at the grill tomorrow. We can all meet up then ok."
"Yeah, alright."
"Good night." Said Kim.
"You too."
When Kim finally got to her room, she let out a big sigh, and laid down in her bed. She looked up toward the ceiling and thought to herself.
"Why is all of this happening. And why is all of this happening so fast. It's one death after another. Who'se next? It's maddening. I can't stand it. Something must be done."
Those thoughts vexed her as she closed her eyes to go to sleep.
She dreamed about the usual dream. She was running in a forest again. Only this time, something was different. She saw someone. Actually 2 people. Instead of running away in the forest, she actually ventured toward those 2 life forms. The two seemed like a happy couple. When she got close enough to see their faces, she noticed that one was Bills father. She attempted to say something, but there was no voice. As they walked toward her, she wanted to reach out and touch them to get their attention, but she was chained down by something. As the two came ever closer, they seemed to be talking about nothing, and they walked toward Kim as thought she wasn't there. She moaned and squirmed but they still diddn't notice her. A few seconds later, the couple walked through her, as is she diddn't exist. Right then she woke up. Aside from the wet clothes she was in, the bed was also wet with sweat.
"I gotta get to the bottom of these dreams." She thought to herself.
