Jorre's mad ramblings
"What you plan to write about"? Yeeeah, I see a problem there. I don't do "plan".
Religion...again?
Well, I checked friendster today, as you have noted from my previous post, and not one but TWO bulletins made their way into my attention field. blaugh
The stupidity reigns supreme, so I decide to make the world a better place.
After all, idiots can only eat their words that many times, can they?
So I had gotten an interesting topic header: "Love vs Sex"
I mean, that should have been good. Merrits of love compared to the happy-go-lucky sex would be a good thing. But no. It happened to be the following story...

Jullietta

A young university student was home for the
summer.

She had gone to visit some friends one evening
and time passed quickly as each shared their
various experiences of the past year.

She ended up staying longer than planned, and
had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid
because it was a small town and she lived only a
few blocks away.

As she walked along under the tall elm trees,
Diane asked "God" to keep her safe from harm and
danger.

When she reached the alley, which was a short
cut to her house, she decided to take it.

However, halfway down the alley she noticed a
man standing at the end as though he were
waiting
for her.

She became uneasy and began to pray, asking
for "God's" protection.

Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and
security wrapped round her, she felt as though
someone was walking with her.

When she reached the end of the alley, she
walked right past the man and arrived home
safely.

The following day, she read in the newspaper that
a young girl had been raped in the same alley just
twenty minutes after she had been there.

Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact
that it could have been her, she began to weep.

Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this
young woman, she decided to go to the police
station.

She felt she could recognize the man, so she told
them her story.

The police asked her if she would be willing to look
at a lineup to see if she could identify him.

She agreed and immediately pointed out the man
she had seen in the alley the night before.

When the man was told he had been identified, he
immediately broke down and confessed.

The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and
asked if there was anything they could do for her.

She asked if they would ask the man one
question.

Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked
her.

When the policeman asked him, he
answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had
two tall men walking on either side of her."

Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're
never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers
will not stand up for God?

Repost this as Love vs. Sex if you believe. If you don't, then you'll have terrible luck for a year, if not longer! Never doubt the power of GoD

Well...the spacing is annoying, since friendster auto-wraps for you, but heck, it would take too long to actually retype it.
So...I decided to break out the hammer and send some more kinds to the wahmbulance

Hey Jul,

I am on my happy 'omg ******** bored'-plain today, so I'll just
spice up your life with a little ranting ^^.

I've noted plenty of these stories around and I usually
dislike them due to the excessive religious propaganda in
them. They're like mental spam to me, which is why I try to
explain to people why they should not post these things. If
you are in any way offended by my style of writing, I offer
my apologies on beforehand.

First off, stories such as these have been around for ever
and people believe them because they are so nice. The
pious person gets saved, the heretic has to die. Golly golly.
Sadly enough, real life tends not to care about religion as
much as it does about chance. Obviously, the first girl
would have been raped (more so if she was praying, many
rapists have these strange fetishes with innocence).
Secondly, a rapist hanging out in a dark alley is an urban
myth if ever I heard one. Rapists do watch movies and
innocent girls tend not to stray into the darker alleys, ergo, a
rapist hangs out at bars, drives around town, ... he watches
his intended victim. Rapists-by-occassion almost non-
existant, due to the amount of planning that goes into the
act of rape if one wants to pull it off.
A third major flaw in the story is that a chance rapist would
be in utter denial. He won't "break down" when found out
unless if he's confronted by the actual victim, if he breaks
down at all. After all, he could just have been in that alley,
logically speaking, just passing through, while the rapist
could have arrived at a later time.
The fourth flaw would be that the man appears instantly in a
line-up, without any form of research being done. Rather
amazing, no?
Lastly, this is obviously a chain-letter. Bad luck does not
happen because you fail to repost something. It happens
because people are stupid.

That's about it ^^
Shine,

Jorre

Ouch?

Chain letters do not make good threads, plainly and simply because you shouldn't have to threaten someone to pass something on if it has any worth to begin with.
