Chapter2
The alarm clock rang in Olivia’s bedroom that morning meaning that she was late for school. The only good thing is that it was the last day of school. Hurray!
She quickly got dressed and hightailed it out the door. She was running down the road as quickly as possible. She was sprinting quicker then most people on bicycles. She couldn’t be late today cause of the exams which everyone protested about them being on the last day including teachers.
She got there with plenty of time to spare before the bell rang so she went into the library. Her friend Shelly was sitting at the table that they usually sat at.
“waz-up?” she asked as Olivia sat down. Shelly would be moving to Gainesville, Florida. Much more north from which they live, Sebastian, Florida.
Her other friend Paige didn’t show up so they went and ate breakfast. There day was the basic type of day except that they got out early. So Olivia kinda ran to school to take two tests and then ran home. She was running very quickly to get back home. The side walk was uneven at one point but she didn’t notice it and she tripped over it. She closed her eyes tightly, sure she was going to fall when she felt two arms catch her. She opened her eyes and looked up. There was a boy holding her up. She stood up and looked at him.
“You look like somebody I know.” he said. He had a kind face and looked like he wouldn’t hurt a fly.
“well I don’t think we’ve ever met before.” she said. An eerie silence followed because nether of them had any idea of what to say next. “Well my name’s Olivia,” she said reaching out her hand.
He shook it and replied “ My name is Mark.” He hopped on a bicycle and started to peddle away. She watched him go until she couldn’t see him anymore.
“Hey mom, I’m home!” She said as she walked through the door. Throwing her stuff on to the kitchen counter, she walked into the living room where her mom was folding laundry.
“Hey, how’s my little Olive doing?” she asked putting the laundry down for a few moments and sat down in the recliner.
“Fine mom but you didn’t forget that I have to go to the end of the year sleep over at Sara’s house?” Olivia had been raving about this day for months and was so excited that it finally came. “Sara says the rest of the girls are coming at seven but I can come at six-thirty.”
“Oh Olivia, you should wear your hair in pigtails!” her mom said grabbing at her hair. “wouldn’t it be cute, your little Orange hair pulled back so we can see your pretty green eyes and cute freckled face.” Olivia hated her hair in pigtails but there was no resisting her mom. It didn’t matter, She’d just pull them out of her hair when she got to her friends door.
“Olivia washed up and packed her backpack with clothes and a little money so she could stop by the gas station on her walk to Sara’s house and buy some candy so she could stay hopped up on sugar all night.
She headed out the door at six fifteen and started walking up the street when she heard a bicycle coming up behind her so she turned around to see who it was. ‘Mark?’ She thought, ‘What was he doing here?’ He pulled up next to her.
“Olivia?” he asked “I thought you looked like somebody I knew.” he looked at her face. “you look just like my cousin, Natasha. Except she would be seven years older by now.”
“What happened to her?” Olivia asked curiously,
“She’s dead.” he said. There was another of those okward silences then the next thing he said surprised her.
“come on. Hop on to my bike I have some where to take you..”
She took a step backward. “You can trust me. You could probably kill me if you really wanted to.” he told her
Olivia couldn’t argue with that kind of reasoning. So she hopped on the back of his bike and they took off.
“just to let you know I have to be by my friends house at Seven at the latest.” she said when they saw that they had passed the street Sara lived on.
“okay we’ll be done around twelve.”. he said sounding a little distant.
“WHAT!” she said steering him a little off, “If I’m going to be that late I need to make a phone call.” she made him stop by a payphone and she got some of the money that she brought and called Sara’s house
“Hello…” the voice said when they picked up the receiver
“Hi It’s Olivia, Is Sara there?”
“This is her” she said.
“I’m going to be late….by like, five hours.”
“WHAT!” Sara yelled.
Olivia had to think of something fast. Sara was one of those types of people who believed in action stories and fantasy so Olivia came up with the quickest snappiest story anyone could think of.
“Erm.. I’m on a mission.” she said.
“Really?” Sara asked excitedly. “What’s your mission?”
“I can’t tell you, I’ve already said to much. Just make sure that if my mom calls she knows I’m there but tell her I’m in the bathroom or something. Also leave your bed room window open so I can sneak through. Your mom wont notice I’m not there will she?”
“Of course not, There will be so many other girls running around she wont be able to keep track..”
“Great!” Olivia said, “See yah later, Buh- bye!” She hung up the phone and hopped on Mark’s bicycle.

Paige was disappointed because she didn’t get to see her friend Shelly on the last day She’d would be at that school. The last chance she would ever get to see her and now she’s gone.
“Are you ready?” a voice behind her said. She turned to face him, nodded and flopped her long brown hair behind her. He took her long hair that was down to her lower back and chopped it all off. Her icy eyes shook as she watched it all hit the ground. Her hair was now to her neck and She turned and hugged him and started to cry. She looked up at him and he wiped her tears away then placed her glasses on her face.

They pulled up to an old looking warehouse. She hopped off and he locked up his bike. As he was doing that Olivia looked up at the building. The windows were busted out but the building still looked rather new, like someone put a fresh layer of paint over it and none of the wood looked old or insect infested.
“Hold on let me unlock the door.” he said. He got a key ring out of his pocket that contained dozens and dozens of keys and he seemed to know which ones were which.
He finally got the right key out and turned the lock on the door and went inside the building. She stood there and waited then he reappeared at the doorway.
“You can come in any time you want.” he said then he turned around and went back inside and she followed him inside the building. It was completely dark so Olivia couldn’t even see two inches in front of her face.
“Just let me turn on the lights.” he said as she heard him walk away for a few minutes then Light flooded the whole building. She saw many crates a barrels stacked up everywhere and the ground was concrete.
“This way.” he said and she followed him to the back of the giant room. “Rico!” he shouted, “She’s here!” A boy jumped down from the crates landing right in front of them who had blonde hair and green eyes and was very tall which she could have sworn was fifteen.
“How old are you?” Olivia asked
“Thirteen just like you and Mark.” he said, “There’s no time to answer those kind of questions right now.” He spun her around and put her in a sleeper hold then she blacked out.

Shelly was about to go swimming when her mother stopped her. “you have a doctors appointment tomorrow.” she said
“I know,” she told her. “You’ve told me every day this week and Right after the appointment Andrea can come over though right?”
“Correct and she is staying for two nights?”
“Righto!” she shut the door to there trailer and walked down the street to the pool.

“Okay, now that that’s done help me move her on to the table.” Rico said grabbing her ankles. Mark grabbed her arms and they lifted her up and set her on the table.
“Okay.” he said “Should we give her Natasha’s? I mean we aren’t going to get any closer then this to the real thing.” Mark thought for a moment then nodded.
They Pulled out a large suit case and opened it and Rico pulled out a long needle. They got a small container out and put the needle on it then injected it into her arm. They then pointed a lamp over her body and made an incision in her stomach. They removed, inserted and switched organs around until they stitched up her stomach and forced a pill down her throat.
“Good job Rico, I think we’ve done it.” Mark said shaking his hand.
“Well Wake up sleeping beauty.” Rico said walking off. Mark Shook her gently until she sat up. She looked around dazed and confused.
“What time is it?” She asked yawning “You know I have to be at my friends house at twelve.” He helped her stand up.
“It’s Nine-thirty sleeping beau-” he stopped himself before he could say that. She looked up at him and smiled
“You know you have very pretty eyes.” she said still dreary. His eyes were a cool blue. she ran her hand through his thick raven hair. “You smell nice too.”
“Thank-you.” he said blushing “Um, you need to be wide awake for this okay?” she nodded and sat down on a crate. He pulled out some pictures and showed them to her. “Now, do you know any of these girls?” he said interchanging them.
“Oh yeah, That one with the glasses is Paige and that one’s Shelly.” she looked closely at the pictures “I don’t know the other two though.” Mark put the pictures away.
“That’s okay we already have information on them.” He said filling up a glass of water and then handing it to her. “We’ve hacked into there computer conversations which were virtually about nothing but we found out what kind of people they were.”
“And you are now a muse.” Rico said popping up behind her.
“YOU!” she shouted standing up “How dare you knock me out and say things I don’t understand.” she kicked over the crate for no reason what so ever then she calmed down. “What’s a muse?” she asked breathing heavily.
“A muse is someone chosen to promote peace through out the world.” Rico said. “yeah I know it sounds corny but my dad came up with it, not me.” Olivia cocked her eye brow
“Dad?” she asked, “How many people are involved in this?”
“That’s not important now but what is important is that you know that you are now part fish and that if you know where any of these girls are going to be tomorrow.” Rico said quickly.
“Huh?” she said, “What about a fish?” she asked “I don’t know anything about a fish but I think Shelly said she was going to the doctors tomorrow.” Rico flicked her in the head.
“You Idiot!” he shouted. “You are the fish! We gave you gills and everything! Here look in this mirror.” he lifted the mirror so she could see her self.
“What in the world!” She patted the side of her face to see if her head fins were real, They were. “I can’t walk around with these on my face!”
“I don’t think you should be worrying about those.” Mark said He reached behind her and grabbed at something. She gave a little yelp when she felt his hand wrap around something.
“What the heck?” she said looking behind her. “A tail?” she asked, “You really had to give me a fish tail? Gosh you really know how to ruin a girls life.”
“No problem!” Rico exclaimed. “We do this everyday.” She started to steam up. “Relax!” he said “If you want to hide them just think about making them go away.” She shut her eyes then her tail was sucked up into her lower back as did her head fins sink into her face.
“Okay, I’ll take you to your friends house now.” Mark said. “Oh and Rico, Andrea’s spending the night Casey’s tonight.” Rico nodded and walked away again.
They went outside and hopped on Mark’s bike a peddled to Sara’s house which Olivia had to slip through the window and flopped on to some pillows on the ground.
“Olivia!” Sara whispered excitedly. “Tell me about your mission!”
She groaned, “I already told you that I can’t tell you now let me go to sleep.” Olivia said tossing a spare pillow at her.
