Important stuff/Characters
Just all the important stuff I need to keep track of
Name: Dante Patricks
Age: Appears to be 20 years old
Race: Fallen Angel
Sex: Male
Personality: Unlike most fallen angels, who spend their days in emotional torment over their banishment from the Holy Kingdom, Dante is a free spirit, his conscience a thing of the past. Living with a middle finger pointed at the Heavens, he feels that he has done nothing wrong, and that God has turned his back on him. So, true to his nature, the young man returned the favour. In lightest terms, Dante looks like he does not give a damn. In the hectic city of Ajax, with it’s frantic atmosphere and constant feeling of God’s disapproval glare upon it, Dante found himself right at home.
Dante is not very sentimental, his only cares lying in himself, and in one item. A silver pocket watch rests in his pocket, attached to his belt by a long chain, but it seems to be a part of him. He is a very proud, greedy, bitter, and uncaring being, seemingly a reflection of every one of the Deadly Sins.
A very select few of people have pierced through Dante’s tough skin and been able to see the young man inside. The tatters of what used to be a caring soul may be seen once in a while, along with a once warm smile. His attitude now is completely opposite to what it used to be, but he felt like he had no other choice but to push all of that into the past. As he was banished from heaven, and descended into Ajax, Hell’s place on Earth, Dante lost all that he held dear, except for his life, his weapons, and his pocket watch. Since he knows that there is not much more he can lose, he holds onto this things and will not ever let go. He refuses to be beaten down on Earth, he refuses to roll over. Nor will he fall to his knees and beg for forgiveness, although the opening of Heaven’s Gates seems so tempting.
Apperance: Like most residents of Ajax, Dante is quite suspicious looking. He wears a long black leather coat, with chain mail in between the lining and the exterior. Therefore, it is noticeably heavy, but very effective against attacks. Under the coat, he wears a white long-sleeved business shirt, loose brown pants, and an old leather belt. protruding out from the back of the coat is a pair of great feathered wings, in a dusty grey colour. They usually rest folded against his back, but when outstretched, they can reach a span of twelve feet.
Dante does not wear shoes, or gloves, but long strips of white fabric are wrapped on his hands and feet, like a martial artist would wear. It makes walking difficult, and the wraps on his feet are filthy, stained with dirt and blood.
His steely grey eyes peer out between the locks of brown hair that lay in a messy manner about his head, adding to his odd, shady appearance. Around his neck hangs a silver-coloured chain necklace, too small to slip over his head, but with no clasps to remove it. The metal is too strong to break, and the piece was bound there by God himself. The pendant is a silver oval, with an engraved and stained ‘P’ in the middle, the initial and colour representing Pride. It is the deadliest of sins, and as God saw, the most prominent of them all within Dante.
Weapons: Dante has a bow which is blessed with dark energy, credit given to a favour he called in from a demon friend of his. His ammunition consists of Holy arrows, quite coincidently, although their Divine powers are tainted as they do not have God’s blessing. The mix of Dark and Holy energy can prove quite deadly. Dante has excellent accuracy, and knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to wielding such dangerous weapons.
For close-range fighting, he uses a katana. The blade is his own, not something stolen unlike his arrows. It is a simple sword, the handle wrapped with leather, and with two silver charms dangling from the end of it. One of them is a small cross, and the other is a feather, both all made up of the metal and about four centimetres in length.
Powers: Obviously, Dante has the ability to fly, credit given to his powerful wings. The young Fallen has also attempted small water and ice manipulation spells, which he discovered that he had a bit of a knack for. He does not call into that little talent often, but it is always a last resort. With those powers, he can control the shape of the water of ice, and if he concentrates enough, even propel it to move as he wishes.
Type of Fighter: Dante is used to long-range fighting, using his bow and arrows to get the job done. That is where his true skill lies, but he has learned to adapt to different situations, since the city offers plenty of surprises.
Bio (shortened): Dante lived his entire life just outside of Raliegh, in one of the more suburban areas. He lived a normal life, in a regular Christian family. His mother was highly religious, and the Church was the woman‘s second home. Like most children in the area where they lived, Dante was a regular kid, with his slight rebellious streak that simply made life interesting.
As he grew into his late teens, Dante met a girl. Not just any girl, oh no. This was the girl. Her name was Ruby, and before he was even formally introduced to the girl, Dante knew that he was in love. They were quick to begin dating, but there was a minor problem. Ruby was not religious at all. In fact, she claimed to be an atheist. Dante had not problem with it, but his family certainly did. Despite that, they dated for almost three years, pretty much the perfect couple.
One day, when the two were driving home from the movies, their car was struck by a drunk driver. Neither of them survived the horrific crash. Just like that stupid cliché in the movies, Dante saw a white light, and reached for it. He ended up in heaven, but a horrible surprise awaited him. Ruby was not there. She had been damned to hell, because she did not believe in God.
Naturally, Dante was enraged. The woman he loved was a saint, and had never hurt anyone in her life. But, what could he do against God? The young man wanted revenge, and he got it eventually. After going down to earth and slaying the man responsible for the crash, who had unfairly survived, Dante felt a sense of closure. However, God was obviously not very happy with this, and he banished Dante from Heaven forever.
With nothing but the clothes on his back, his tainted wings, and the arrows he had stolen, Dante fell back to earth, with no way of getting back to heaven. He fell in the middle of a street in a city called Ajax, the supposed Hell on Earth. After months of struggling, Dante has established a life for himself doing odd jobs and the rare bounty hunting to get by.
