Dagons Secret Chapter three
When Mishka was awoken the next day the sun was not yet full within the sky, and she groaned in protest. “Go away. Just a few more minutes Auntie,” she mumbled half asleep. Serverus looked at her puzzled for a minutes before she gently shook her. “It is time to wake Mishka, “ he said while he soothed a strand of dark hair from her face. She seemed so peaceful and safe within the confines of her dreams that he felt sorry for waking her. “She must be awakened,” he thought aloud to himself as her eyelids fluttered open revealing her beautiful, wide, yellow eyes. “Huh?” she groaned as she got up onto one elbow and looked around herself with disbelieving eyes. “No. It can't be.” she continued in a whimpering voice as tears gleamed within her eyes. She'd thought that it was a horrible dream and that she'd awakened safe within her small room in her aunt's house; safe. This was not the case ,and she lay on a strange bed, with him leaning over her, staring with those almond shaped eyes. Her breath caught in her throat and she averted her eyes. He was very handsome with those peculiar eyes and the intense way they stared at her. At the same time they were frightening. She wondered why he stared at her so, and why he hadn't slain her? Fear gripped at her stomach making her sick . She held her hand over her mouth incase she vomited. The thoughts that filled her mind were not of the pleasant kind but of a sordid nature , and now she stared at him with eyes full of sorrow and horror. “You can't!” she said in a pleading voice and backed away from him. Serverus looked at her perplexed and went to reach for her but, Mishka only drew further back shaking her head. “I wish you no harm,” he said as he turned his palms upright and looked at her. “We must stop this foolishness at once and make haste!” he shouted at her, his voice becoming cool as silver tears streamed silently down her face. His words didn't have the effect that Serverus hoped they would, and Mishka had begun to sob into her hands with her face turned away from him. His heart ached at such a sight and he wondered how long it had been since he'd cared for another. He looked at her soft pale skin and the dark hair that surrounded the hollow of her neck. He wanted to touch her and comfort her, to let her know everything was going to be all right, but he couldn't. He himself didn't know how things would turn out in their upcoming battle against Dagon. Dagon was far more powerful and older than himself, and he had his mind set upon a common goal. Serverus knew how dangerous he could be when he was like this. He remembered many times from his past when Dagon had had his mind set on something or another, and he used to pity the fools who'd stood in his way. Now, he was the fool who'd try to stand in his way. Of course he'd have Mishka, but he wondered id she was really the one Tsume meant.
