It began to snow on that day. He walked the streets no one dared to go on, leaving his footprints on the new white carpet. Besides him, there was not a soul outside. The snow was beautiful, yes, but no one dared to step out in the storm.
So what brought him there, on the streets no one dared to go on and the storm no one dared to step in? There were faces watching him from every house window, wondering exactly the same thing. Only one of them smiled, knowing too well the power of the force that brought hearts together through any struggle.
The man walked on, without noticing the wondering looks, until he reached a statue. It was a statue of a man with wings, and the man was ready to leave the ground and soar to the skies… He looked at it for the last time, and then turned away, prepared to leave, his own wings behind him.
“Good bye…” he whispered and took a step further but froze after it. He knew she was behind him, calling his name franticly and running as fast as she could to reach him.
It was then that he turned to face her, with the tears on his eyes that she could not see, and shook his head. He had no choice over his destiny, and neither did she. And, with his wings closing him from the world and his heart, he disappeared…
*** It stopped snowing the next day. He told her it would…But the love they shared would never stop: It will stay forever in her heart and his. And as she watched the sun come up, she whispered: “Until we meet again”, and he nodded…
