Prince Kaddar
Chapter 1: The Beginning

One night Jenna was out later than she was supposed to be. She heard guards coming, and they were coming closer. She ran and hid under an abandoned jeweler’s cart. They walked right past her. Jenna jumped out from under the cart, “that was close!” she exclaimed. The guards turned, their eyes burning like red-hot coals. “Get her!” they yelled in sequence. They threw moog balls at her. Moog balls are sticky balls of goo that could stop a person in their tracks. One of the moog balls hit her square in the chest. “No!” Jenna howled in pain. She was knocked out by the force of the moog ball. They shipped her off to the Darklands.
When Jenna awoke, she was pinned to the wall. Her chest was throbbing with extreme pain. She could barely stay conscious. “This is not good, I must escape,” she told herself. There was a moments silence until she heard a faint sound, “who’s there?” Jenna exclaimed.
“I was trying to say, there is no way to escape,” the voice said.
Jenna stared in the direction the voice had come from, “Josef?!” Jenna exclaimed. Jenna and Josef talked for what seemed like hours, but was only about forty-five minutes. A golden guard came in and interrupted them. “Hey, you just interrupted us!” Jenna yelled.
He was as quick as lightning. The guard grabbed his sword and pointed the tip at Jenna. The tip of the blade was so close to her that she could feel it on her neck. “You should watch your tongue child, I will kill you next time,” he whispered. At that minute Jenna and Josef’s chains uncuffed. Jenna and Josef ran out of the castle and jumped into a shipping cart.
Later, when Jenna and Josef arrived at Arget, they ran out and headed toward Josef’s smithy. When they had settled down, Josef made some dinner and a pot of tea. They ate dinner and drank their scrumptious tea. Jenna got to sleep on the couch because Josef didn’t have another room for her. Jenna slept well that night. During the night, Jenna heard the clashing of swords. She ran downstairs to see Josef and a shade clashing swords together. “Josef!” Jenna yelled.
“Jenna!” Josef shot back, “run away, this shade is after you!”
Jenna ran for the door, but the shade caught her on the arm with his sword. Jenna fell to the floor; her arm was throbbing in pain. She fainted from the loss of blood. The shade grabbed the scruff of Jenna’s travel vest. “Let go of her!” Josef screamed. Josef lunged at the shade; the shade had not expected Josef to do that. Jenna hit the ground with a muffled ‘thump.’ The shade with his ruby blade hit Josef. With a ‘crack,’ Josef flew and banged against the wall. Josef was now lying dead on the ground.

Chapter 2: Secrets Revealed

When Jenna awoke the next day, she found herself being held up by two golden guards facing the Darklord. Jenna shuddered with fear. “Jenna of Arget!” boomed the Darklord, “why do you think you can escape my loyal shade, Chaos?”
Jenna stood there for a second and asked, “I want to ask you something, why do you want me of all people?”
The Darklord just stood there looking bewildered. “You are to become my slave and fight for me” he boomed. The golden guards turned Jenna around. The Darklord set his hand on her back and murmured some words. Jenna was struggling to get free. Then all of a sudden, everything went black. The Darklord was laughing because he had just captured an elf. Jenna is an elf (I am sorry I did not tell you earlier.) Jenna is the only elf that humans actually thin exist. “I have finally, after all these useless years of searching found and elf” he yelled!

Chapter 3: Mako

Mako was jumping through the trees when he spotted a group of slurphs. One of the slurphs had crimson eyes. A shade! Mako shouted in his head. Mako is about as old as Jenna (100 years old). Mako is also an elf. He fitted an arrow into his bow. He pulled it back to the edge of his mouth. He let go of the string, when it hit something, an ear-piercing screech filled the forest. Mako just about fell out of the tree because he was so excited. I actually hit a shade, he told himself. He jumped down and saw that he had hit a different slurph. Mako, known as the best archer in the world had missed the shade. Shades are very dangerous when you know they are there, but you can’t see them (just a hint.) “Come out, come out wherever you are,” Mako shouted. He pointed his bow and arrow in every direction and shouted, “I know you are there!” Something hit Mako in the leg. He looked in the direction it had come from.
“I have caught another elf,” Chaos boasted. “The Darklord will be pleased.” All of a sudden, Mako doubled over in pain. Chaos was using magic to get him unconscious. Mako struggled to stay conscious, but he failed in the end. Mako fell face first into the dirt, and everything went pitch black.
Chaos had been dragging Mako for what seemed like days. He wanted to teleport back to the Darklands, but he could not because the Darklord wanted him to collect information about the other islands some place far off. Chaos just remembered that he could talk to the Darklord through a link in their minds. Sire I got some information and the other elf you wanted me to catch. He said calmly in his mind as if the Darklord was right next to him.
Very good Chaos. You are the very best shade I could have ever made. The Darklord boomed inside Chaos’ head like thunder in the distance. Chaos looked up where a lightning bolt shot across the sky. He heard footsteps in the distance.
I am being followed. I must find some were to hide or I can fight. Wait a second. I cannot fight, I might lose the elf. Chaos just about said that aloud. An arrow zipped passed his cheek only cutting him slightly. Crimson drops fell to the muddy ground. Another arrow was fired this time hitting his shoulder. Chaos dropped Mako into the mud. Mako was covered head to toe in grimy and slimy mud. Chaos ran ahead, almost forgetting Mako in his rush. Arrows whizzed past his head. He was having a hard time seeing because of all the rain. I am never going to get out of this wretched forest alive! Chaos found a small cave and stayed there for the night.
When he awoke he was inside the castle lying on a soft but kind of hard bed. “Yes,” he shouted feeling young again, “I captured an elf!”

Chapter 4: Escape

When Mako awoke, he was hanging from the wall in chains and his side throbbed. “Where am I?” Mako wondered aloud.
“Where do you think?” Answered a voice, “the Darklands of course!”
“Are you serious?!” He yelled back. All he heard in response was a muffled yes. Mako looked to his side and there, chained to the wall before him was another elf. “ You ar-…” he got cut off.
“Another elf,” she cut him off “my name is Jenna.”
“My name is Mako!” He shouted as though he could not control himself. They both started telling each other how they had gotten into this mess. A moment later, Chaos, the shade came into the prison cell where Jenna and Mako were being held. “What do you wa-…” Mako was cut off again.
“Shat ya maath!” Chaos spat, just about drenching Mako in spit. Chaos just started mumbling in a different language, (shat ya maath, means shut your mouth.)
Mako and Jenna mumbled some words also. Their chains came undone and Chaos fell to the ground unconscious. When they were out of earshot Jenna asked Mako, “the Darklord put his hand on my back, is there anything there?” Mako looked to where she had pointed.
“Yes there is, it’s a black handprint with a little design in the middle, “he answered. Mako looked at where he had had a pain earlier. I have the same mark! He shouted in his head.
Mako and Jenna set off to find a way out of the castle. A little while later they sat on a bench shaped statue. Mako asked a bunch of questions about Jenna and her past life. “Well Mako I did not live here in the first place. I actually got sent her by my father, the king of all the elves. I envied him so much. I wanted to be queen but my parents sent me away when I turned 50. I did not want to go. I am 100 years old now. I have been away from home for 50 years. At least I have you, Mako.”
Mako turned red hot. He was not really prepared for what was about to happen. Jenna was inching closer. Then they kissed. After a few moments Mako ran for the door shouting after him, “come on Jenna. Let’s get out of here.” They continued after finally getting out of the dreaded Darklands and heading towards the Forest of Seal.

Chapter 5: Forest of Seal

After a long day they thought it best to head to the Forest of Seal because they had heard that a power within the forest would bring back the dead. Mako and Jenna searched the entire forest. They have now been in the forest for about two months realizing that they had gotten nowhere. That night while they were having stew made up of various vegetables and two kinds of meat, Mako broke down.
“I can’t stand this,” Mako shouted! “We have been searching for two months!”
Jenna then knew what to do even though it meant she would never see her friends again. Jenna realized the power they were looking for was inside her the whole time. In order for the survival of all elves, she needed to make the biggest sacrifice.
All of a sudden, two things happened at once; Jenna shouted, “Bris!” This is a magic word meaning reveal. A strange ray of light shot through Jenna’s chest knocking her back ten or so feet. Jenna shouted another word, “Inger,” which means revive. The whole world started exploding with light. Everywhere people were being healed from sicknesses and death, coming back to life.
“Jenna!” Mako was so excited, “ You did it! You found what nobody else has!” No one answered, “Jenna?” Lying on the forest floor was Jenna. “Jenna,” he shouted again, this time crying. Jenna had given her own life to rid the whole world of the Darklord and also brought back and healed millions of people.
Josef got up from the floor of his smithy feeling refreshed and alive. “I am alive again. Jenna I hope and I pray that you are alive!” A few weeks later, an elfish looking boy came into Josef’s smithy. He was carrying a bundle. He set the bundle on the floor with quite a bit of care. The boy unwrapped the bundle while telling Josef why he was here. In the bundle was Jenna’s body. Mako, as the boy called himself, had told Josef about all his experiences with Jenna. They cried together.
The next day, they held a gigantic festival honoring her bravery and courage. Everyone prayed to Jenna that she would have a safe trip to heaven. While all this was happening, guess who was watching from the place everyone calls heaven? It was Jenna. She was wrapped in a pretty dress of sparkling white light that had been given to her by Zeprion himself, king of the heavens and Earth. Jenna looked down from heaven with a smile on her face, knowing that everything would be alright.
The End
