Gaia: Vargonifir Character Name: Balthier/Atticus Age: 19 Personality: Poetic/intellectual. Despite all appearences, he doesn't write dark and disturbing poetry. He can also be a bit of a smartass. Lastly, he is extremely rebellious and fun-loving, though only as Atticus. Powers/Weapons: He uses the two spike bracelets as seen in the picture at times but usually he prefers to use the Varethsbane. He has different categories of his powers which include: Shadow Lore: The manipulation of shadows, basically. He can bind things or sink into the shadows for undeniable stealth. Dark Lore: The essence of darkness at his will, used in combat usually in either the form of a condensed black energy sphere or a black flame. Arcanum Seal: His most powerful magic: Demon Magic, come in the form of an encrypted circle on his right hand that he was born with. This is what he draws power from. He can perform powerful demonic spells with this seal, the highest of which is the ability to transform into a black dragon. However, he can only manage the wings and eyes at the moment. He tells no one of the seal's powers, not even his family, for fear of being shunned. Social Status: Wayward Prince/Vigilante Bio: Balthier is the prince of darkness. Though he acts noble like any normal royal, he is far from this. Balthier has an alter ego, or rather Balthier is his alter ego, a facade. Ever since Balthier learned the magic of shifting, he acquired another form: Atticus. Atticus is, in a sense, his true self. This is because he acts himself as Atticus, and feels free. Since Age 6, when he learned the magic, he has been sneaking out of the palace as Atticus. Balthier is arranged to marry Aurora, the Princess of Light. However, this couldn't be farther from his mind. Someday, he wishes to escape royalty for good, and could care less to be further involved with it. Besides, his heart was already stolen by a girl he met on his childhood adventures, but sadly who dissappeared when he was age 11, while he'd met her at age 8. Now it is hard for him to fall in love with anyone. The only member of his family he is really comfortable around is his youngest brother, who is too innocent to judge him. Balthier is trying to harbor a freedom flair in his little brother while he is still young. Balthier was taught the arts of battle by the Commanding General, and solo-training was also a hobby. He also developed an aptitude for strategy, but does not express this skill for fear of then being selected for a general in the army, which he also takes no interest in. Appearences: Balthier:
