First One
((The most embarrassing peice of work I have ever written... But I absolutly LOVE it... It truly expresses who I am...))
I don't exactly know how to start this essay, I don't really know what I could possibly say to "Grab" your attention. I have no witty comments or surprises up my coat sleeves... In fact, most of my life I've been pretty straight forward with my feelings and veiws. I never carry secrets or hold grudges, I am a very talkitive person so it's hard to be mysterious. So to be straight forward with you, I have almost always had good grades. I understand most of what is scribbled on a white board and if I don't get it I ask questions. I've always been the strongest in reading and followed by writing, social studies, science, and then math. The only thing tat ever got in the way of my learnng was the divorce of my parents and other depressing happenings in my life. During those times I find it hard to concentrate and I'm always trying to comfort someone when I need to be comforted too. During times like that I go to my mom; my best friend and teacher of life lessons... If not her I go to my Grandma, Grandpa Gary, or my best friends. They are my support systems and they pull me through the tough times. Other than hard times my life is pretty much a wonderful improvasation. I have fun while still focusing most my time on school.

Second and Final Draft
((This one is basically what I wrote cause nothing else worked. All of it is true so it's not a lie... It just isn't as embarrassing as the last one and is MUCH more serious (Like I actually care).))
My name is Sidney Winslow, I have chosen to apply to your college because the activities your college offers and its location. I have lived in Washington all of my life and would do anything to stay here through my college years. Living in Washington my entire life has given me an eye for art, with it's beautiful summers, colorful falls, and depressing winters. I have been drawing and 'into' art ever since I could hold a pencil. I was a very descriptive child; I wouldn't leave out one woodland creature in the forest or one cloud in the sky over the park. Although my art wasn't amazing when I was five like most artists, it didn't matter because I only used my art to show affection and forgiveness or guilt. However, with age came better art and more reasons to draw. I was now drawing to impress people, make people laugh, and still to show people affection. I tell people everyday of my life that I wouldn't be able to continue on living without if I had to quite drawing and sharing my art with people. So obviously my major in college would be art for cartooning. Not only do I love to draw but I love to read, write, and act. For example, my academic strengths are language arts and social studies. Some of my weaknesses are math and science. I'm currently having a small problem with science, I'm having trouble understanding it when normally it comes easy to me. However, I have always had an issue with math. My entire life I have had good grades, I don't really why because dyslexia runs in my family as well as minor cases of ADD and ADHD. My grandpa had dyslexia, my mom had dyslexia, and now my brother has a minor case of dyslexia and ADHD. Some how, I managed to wriggle my way past learning defects and become an A student with a B in math. However, when I was a child I went through a lot of traumatic incidents that did affect the way I took on life. For example, when my parents divorced I found myself constantly fighting with my mom and having trouble focusing. Now as an adult I know that support systems are good for your mental health during hard times. Whenever I have an issue now, I go to my Grandma, my Grandpa Gary, my best friends, and my mom to talk it through. Talking with someone about it makes me feel better about the issue and lets my mind go back to the important things like school and grades. With their help I have gotten to where I am now, I am now applying for you college to get moving towards my goal career, cartooning. Cartooning goes well with my personality and my abilities, it truly is my "Dream Job". So this is my personal essay that is to be attached to my application. I do hope you consider me for my dedication to drawing and the arts, my survival through the tuff, and my grades.
