Endless darkness

The Prediction: The unknown Face in the casket.

Thump! My body jolts as I awake.
“What is that?”
I ask myself as I sit up in bed. There was an odd feeling. Like a premonition, a sign, a hidden shadow. The room was silent like sleep itself. Yet there was an odd ere feeling to it. Why is the room oddly white and empty? Why is it so cold? A thump or more like a beat soft and repetitive echoing from afar. I open my door to a room full of people dressed in all black. As I weave myself through the crowd the beating grows deeper, louder, and much faster. Everything in the room seems so crowded and sad. Why? It smells of grief and tears. The lights dimmed low…
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Dancing like imps making illusions…
Thump Thump. Thump.
Illusions seem so real, teasing, singing…
THUMP THUMP thump
Singing, twisting, screaming…
THUNP THUMP THUMP
Screaming! Pulling! Killing!
The thumping getting uncontrollable, hurting my bosom, making me sick as I walk closer to the sound.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
I see a large box lying on red velvet. Why is such a big box in my house? I look inside the strange box and see an unknown face…
THUMP!
I awake.
I open my eyes quickly to the colorful walls of my room. It smells of sweet lavender oils and incense. Deep reds and rich browns surround me. Light voices from the TV down the hall echo. My sheets, red and silky, are drenched with sweat.
“It’s just a dream”
I tell myself. A quick glance at my clock tells me its 2:10am. So I trudge to my bed and collapse into a deep, deep slumber.
White.
My body quivers as I wake up. The room is full of nothing, walls pasted white. White…and red.
There are no furnishings but the bed and my dark. Red. Curtains.
Is this even my room? The living room was full of people I didn’t know. Everybody wore black. Everybody cried red and blue.
Red, red, red. Why is everything so red?
Thump.
Red as a cherry? Red as my lips. My sheets, my curtains, res as blood. Blood?
Thump
Have I heard this sound? People do not cease to end. They are everywhere. Sitting, standing, and looking so grim.
Is this even my house?
Thump.
There is a large pounding in my ears. Although I cannot distinguish the sound it scares me. For I have not heard a sound like it. I feel so red when I hear it.
Thump. Red.
Red reminds me of…
Thump!
The world around me whirled. I felt sick as I sat up and opened my eyes. The dreams didn’t matter. But I wish I knew what they meant. Something is so vague, and yet so familiar. As is I could touch it. It feels like a soft whisper. Something sweet that scares me. Something also loved and unknown.
I walk to school wondering. The nightmare makes me feel jumpy. The noise my shoes make on the pavement make a thumping noise when I walk. The trees wave at me shaking their Burning red leaves at me.
“I will not. Absolutely NOT let this dream interfere with my head.”
But it was.
“It is thy will thy image should keep open, my heavy eyelids to the weary night? Dost thou desire my slumbers should be broken, while shadows, like to thee, do mock my sight?”
My teacher speaks poems as I scribble in my notepad.
“Dost thou desire my slumbers should be broken?”
It reminds me of my shadows. Lurking in my room. Keeping me awake.
“While shadows like to thee, do mock my sight.”
And yet thinking so hard makes me so sleepy. I hardly got sleep the night. My eyelids close slowly and slowly. An unending battle between my mind and my body. Yet my mind wins.
“To find out shame and idle hours in me, the scope and tenour of thy jealousy.”
And I fall into sleep….
I gasp out for air as I awaken in my blind white room. A foul smell entangles me. A crisp, sour, tangy smell that has a hot melting feeling. It does not smell of lavender oils any longer. The sound is white. The bed feels sickly wet. Even the floors as I walk across feel slimy as I walk out my door to the living room. There are black shadows moving all around my house.
Thump
The same sick sound keeps haunting me. Every time I walk the sound gets more intense.
Thump
Closer and closer I get. Get to what? Where is the sound?
Thump Thump
The big brown box lies on the floor. Red silky roses surround it. As I walk up the lid laid open revealing an unknown face. Sleeping. Having a nightmare? She looks like an angel. A dark slumbering angel with raven black hair, velvet red lips, and delicate golden skin. My body shakes.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The noise grows loudest than ever, making me horribly sick….
Thump!
A textbook slams onto my desk as the classmates giggle.
“For thee watch I whilst thou dost wake elsewhere.”
The teacher talks on and didn’t notice my doze. The bell for lunch rings without warning.
“From me far off…with others all too near”
He finishes without looking at the class shuffle out.
…His words scare me.

Soup. I stare at red hot liquid in my white bowl. It smells spicy yet it looks all too familiar. I look across the cafeteria, the red polished tables glistening from the light.
Why do you stare?
A boy younger than I looking at me from afar.
Thump!
My heart beats in fear. His hair a bright red glowing, shimmering, burning against the white washed walls.
“what do you want stranger?”
I shape with my lips to his staring eyes. But with no reply he got up and thumped away.
THUMP!
My heart screams.

The library was big and cold. White walls, red books, old books, new books. Other students mingle about the tables and shelves. I take my place among the clatter at a far off table. Hitting the books would be a nice way to get the mind off nightmares. Reading poems of Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe were to keep my heart rate up in a iron way. As time wears on the windows start to grow dark. Students pack their things and go home. Trying to rush through “The Raven” a once forgotten battle take hold of me again.
“What do you want of me? Tell me tell me I implore! Quoth the raven, Nevermore.”

Red. Sticky, foul red soup. Hot and wet. Dripping from my face, my legs, my arms.
Thump
I wake. Rose petals everywhere. On the white walls and floor. It does not smell rosy. It reeks of rotting flesh.
Rump Rump Rump!
Somebody is tapping, gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“what do you want of me?”
Rose petals are sticky and slimy. My large red curtains. I slide to the living room. So many faces staring at me, watching roses sticking as globs to my hair as if red glue.
Thump
Beating getting deeper. One of the faces….My Mom and my Dad. So sad. Why are they so sad? A box. A large wooden box. A coffin? Yes, but who is inside? I peer into the casket.
Thump
Mt heart beats.
Thump
Is it fear? The face is unknown.
“Excuse me? I need to get home now and you do too sweetheart.”
The tall middle aged woman stares at me through large spectacles. I realized quickly that it was way past dark. Outside the world had gone to bed long ago. Not even the stars would give me a blink to give me light.
“Would you get a move on?”
The lady motioning her hands out door with large eyes.
“Yes madam.”
Taking my books I scurried out the door fearful of making the Liberian mad at me. I wish I had not fallen asleep like that. Although The dark does not affect nightmares. The day seems too red, white, and hot. During the night the air is cool. The Nightly wind Waves my long black hair around me from all harm. There were streetlights so they guided me home easily. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
I breathe.
Walking to the front door it looked like nobody was awake and I seems to be that I lost my house key. So I skipped over to the back of the house to my bedroom window.
9:23pm. my cell read. Night’s hour was not that late. I climbed on a rock to try to get into my window my height failed me letting me only open it a crack. My thoughts came to me quickly as I suddenly remembered my parents leave the back door unlocked for me on late weekdays. I slide in silently not forgetting to lock the door back up behind me.
My room smelled of lavender oils and incense. I hope for good dreams tonight since I am in a cheery mood. It seems as if the night air cleared my senses, knocked some good mind onto me too. Exhausted as I was I hadn’t realized it till I glanced at my neatly made bed.
“Ahhhh”
I said as I took off my black tang top and set it near the door for tomorrow’s laundry. I slipped on my extra large Slipknot T-shirt on and slowly sank into my bad. Who ever knew sleep could feel so good?
Thump.
I awoke.
Sharp pain bolted through my body.
Red.
Red sticky goop all over me. Oh God.
Help it hurts.
Thump.
My heart beat.
Thump.
My sheets are sticky. The floor has soup. No this is foul smell is not soup.
Blood. My blood.
My hair is matted with thick globs of blood.
The walls…God. They are covered…
Spots of blood everywhere. It looks as if rose petals are laid out.
Ugh.
I limp to the door, twist the sticky handle.
My family is in the living room. They are all wearing black. Why can’t they see me? Why is everyone crying?
There is a huge coffin. Who is inside? Who?
I walk trying not to slip
Thump
It feels like an imp is pulling me backward. Yelling and screaming in my ear,
“Turn back! Turn back! Wake Up!”
Thump!
My heart twists in my chest. The girl in the casket is so pretty. So familiar.
Thump!
My eyes start to water. The shock is just too much.
“Ugh! Mmmm. NO!”
I scream I whirl.
“NOOOO! Its Not me! ME?! I’m dead!”
My bearings are not right. I pant, I weave, I cry, I scream. I stumble to my bedroom.
Why? Why have I died? HOW??
My room is a massacre.
Whose behind the Window? THE big curtains are hiding something wicked.
I scream.
“what do you want with mw?”

I awake.
It was cold. Very cold. NO!
I remember I left the window open to get inside! I sit up quickly. The curtains ruffle.
“Dost does not wake thee. Dear… I sleep while others are too near.”
He speaks. He stands in my view. The boy with fire red hair starring at me with bloodthirsty eyes. Holding a big shiny knife.
“What do you want from me?”
Thump!
….I scream.
