Mente di un pazzo.
Mente di un pazzo, also know as "Mind of a madman", Originally lunatic, but I do not know the italian word for such.
My E3 Press Conference Reviews
So. If we didn't know. I'm a gamer. A gamer with a mental illness no one really gives a s**t about. You're up to speed? Alright. =)

I watched E3 and was mostly bummed out. Not exactly the greatest E3 I've watched but a ton of things were on my mind during it. Such as...

Microsoft
- The Kinect compatibility for Mass Effect 3 could come out better or for worse. Just couldn't help but wonder if everyone save for Shephard ask why his voice keeps changing when he's giving commands or has the option to choose what to say. I want to see that when I'm playing especially... big bad Shepard with a 16 year old female voice. Oh, he's so lucky we do not have a Kinect.
- Oh and Ghost Recon's Kinect compatibility is what got me excited. I mean, customize your weapon with your own weapons and/or voice? Nothing has done that yet. Looks like a promising game!
- Dance Central 2, I was expecting that. Dur.
- Kinect Fun Labs indeed looked fun
.
Microsoft's conference focused on mostly Kinect.Bummed me out, but hey, they gave out some cool presentations that made me want a Kinect. Think that was their goal. So C+ from me.

EA
Ugh. EA... of course mainly focused on their sports games and how they spent a fraction of the time talking about them.
- GIVE ME A DAMN RELEASE DATE ON THE OLD REPUBLIC ALREADY. Speaking of which, they didn't announce it, but they did mention it and how hard they are working on it, thus followed by a really nice trailer. No excuse, though, I'd like at least an approximate date on how close they are to finishing? I know it's an MMO and MMOs take forever, but I'm impatient sometimes (I apologize).

I don't remember a whole lot of EA's press conference. But two things I remembered:
1. Overstrike looked like oodles of fun and
2. their gameplay demo of Battlefield 3 made me fall asleep (ride in the tank, eeee, we're getting shot at! Shoot back at them! Back to riding around in the tank listening to rants. CUTSCENE! End of demo... c'mon, the MWF3 gameplay demo was better, dammit. That's saying a TON, that one sucked too imo.)
Anywho.
EA gets a C-.

Ubisoft
Alright, despite Ubisoft's asskisser Mr. Coffee, the conference was... decent. Though 3 or 4 things I must applaud, especially one I'll mention at the end with my way.
- Rayman Origins game me a nostalgic run for platform games (I still play the original Mario games and they're older than me, deal with it). Especially how fun the two demo players were having, I was sadface I wasn't there.
- What was it called.... Rocksmith? Yup. Teaches you the real way to play a guitar without having your teacher hang over your shoulder making you extremely nervous. Also sounds like they give you awesome songs to learn.
- Dance Central 3. That one is easy. 1 and 2 are one of Ubisoft's biggest sellers, SO! Make a third! This time also for Kinect, Move, and the Wii. *Gasp*
- Far Cry 3 definitely gets my approval. Though the whole play the part of the demo where there are major spoilers all bleeped out hurt my brain, the funniest part of it was right before the censor went off, you could always hear the dude go "********" right before it is bleeped. I literally yelled out, "Holy censors, Batman!"

- One last thing I must must MUST applaud to Ubisoft's conference is delivering the greatest trailer for the trilogy of one of my dearest and most favorite characters. And I will express my gratitude by saying what was going through my head during the trailer for Assassin's Creed Revelations. The final chapter in Ezio Auditore de Firenze's story (he's 50 and I still can't help fangirling over him, so here we go!):

Ohmahgawdohmahgawd EZIOOOOOOOOOO.... *Sits silently for a moment* this song is really fitting, holy hell I need this song. Ezio got shot with an arrow, searches for his attacker, notices who it is and then just shrugs it off, breaking the shaft off and act like it's not a big deal when A HUGE ARMY ATTACKS HIM AT ONCE. I love him. So much. Later in the trailer you see his face uncovered under his hood. He is such a badass*, and of course you can still see his scar from Assassin's Creed II because of course, it's a SCAR, but still, I love that they keep it visible reminding the player (if they played ACII, play it if you haven't. If you're not going to, you are missing out, it's a hell of a fun game) of that's where you started Ezio's story. Also they showed a gameplay demo during.... Sony's conference? That made me tear up.
Alright, enough of my fangirling. Go watch the trailers, please?

Gameplay Demo

...What was I doing?.... Oh right, E3. Uhh....
Ubisoft kinda killed me during the conference with annoying as hell Mr. Coffee and some of their games, but closing it all with Assassin's Creed Revelations... I can't grade them on account of they cheated... in a good way. Love you Ezio.

Sony
Right. Sony. Uhhh... what can I recall from Sony? Not a lot. Though they did announce Playstation Vita, which looks like a PsP jacked up with a touchscreen both on the front and back. Could be good.
They talked mostly about the Vita and it's games. Though they did a gameplay demo of AC Revelations, that part made me happy.

Alright, but Vita games... I think there are... 4 I can remember (doing this whole review thing by memory... so I may forget things, don't bother me about 'em, if I don't remember them, they probably haven't piqued my interest... thus I don't care.)
- Ruin... looked really nice. Kinda gave me the feeling of League of Legends (Diablo to my brothers), just not online. Also the fact you can play on the Vita and then resume your game on the Ps3 right where you left off is a really nice addition.
- Modination Racers. That got really interesting with the Vita. The back touchscreen is very useful while making tracks as well as the touchscreen in general. I liked how it was demo'd and made me want to try it out.
- Okay, the Uncharted (Subtitle here) Vita game... I did not like it. You can cheat on the game by using the touchscreen by making Drake do (mostly) everything without having to use any controls and watch it like a movie. What the hell. Does no one tolerate a challenge anymore? Lazy, I say.
- One thing I loved about the Vita is of course my favorite platform game of all time... LittleBigPlanet. They're throwing it at the Vita and I nod my head in approval, giving the touchscreen a rightful purpose, as well as the "tilting of the controller" actually does something that'll make imagination go wild when creating stages.

I give Sony a B.

Nintendo
Ah. I have to say Nintendo won E3 for me. Then again, I am still a little kid on the inside. Like the other companies that produce consoles, they only focused on their two newest console(s?)
- Well first off what made me happy is that they opened with their 25th celebration of Zelda with a compliation of all the moments from the Zelda games, also showing some scenes from Skyward Sword I don't think was seen before. They opened such WITH A FREAKIN' ORCHESTRA. Ahhh, Nintendo, them and their screwing around with awesomeness. Miyamoto, the creator of Legend of Zelda came out and played around with the orchestra, his translator Bill beside him translating Miyamoto like a pro. I'm giving the step-by-step review because it was so godly awesome. Then they announced their 25th anniversary celebration orchestra was going to tour around the world. That really put a smile on my face, Legend of Zelda being in the top 3 spot of my favorite franchises. Also they mentioned Ocarina of Time 3D will include a TON of bonuses.
That was only the beginning. Then they showcased their newest games in 3D with a very clever use of their screen, you can tell even from the TV it was really well done 3D. Let me give you a quick rundown of some games...
- Super Mario 3D, the ORIGINAL Mario game in 3D, you get the raccoon costume back and it looks awesome.
- Star Fox (64) 3D, making everyone laugh with Peppy's famous quote "Do a barrell roll!" Everyone in the house watching cheered for both the game and the quote.
- Luigi's Mansion 2. Yes. I said 2. They're making a sequel. It was such a funny but horrid game, but people love Weegee so much they made a sequel for the 3DS and I think it'll be really nice.

There was a lot more 3DS games mentioned, including games from 3rd party companies, such as two games from Capcom (two Resident Evils), Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, and a whole ton more that look amazing.
- Then once all the commotion was over they finally announced what Project Cafe was... the Wii U. Apparently Nintendo loves giving second screens to everyone. Basically it's the IPad for the Wii, though without the annoyance of Apple, I approve of it, but that's it. It won me over by being announced Super Smash Bros. (A new one?) is going to be available for the 3DS and the WiiU.
- One last thing I want to mention about Nintendo's conference... Kid Icarus Uprising. I. Want. To. Play. It. Trailer with gameplay was well done and of course I was a fan of Pit, though his voice actor for the game may get on my nerves. It reminds me of a certain game but nonetheless, it looks very nice.
Kid Icarus Announcement Trailer

Overall I give Nintendo a B+, woulda been an A if they mentioned something outside of their two newest console(s?)
I need to get me a 3DS. That's all I know right now.

What Bummed Me Out
About the Press Conferences, that is...
- They didn't show ANYTHING about Batman Arkham City. I know outside sources from the conferences did a ton about it, but I was really depressed to see it wasn't mentioned, I mean, why did you guys expect us NOT to want something mentioned about Arkham City? Arkham Asylum was one of the best (And very much well done games, I mean, get the voice castors from the Animated Series? I loved it!) games I have played and I'm sure a lot of people have played.
- The bigger companies that produce consoles did nothing but talk about games for their newest consoles, Sony hardly mentioned anything new for the PS3, relatively new, but not their NEWEST. Oh no. And Microsoft, yet using their conference yet again to promote more stuff for their Kinect. And if I have a 360 and not a Kinect? Hm? (I don't own a 360 either (Though I have an account on my bro's 360), I'm a Ps3 chick)
- Last thing that bummed me out.... I WAS NOT THERE. Dammit.

I will be surprised if you actually read through this whole thing. For that, I congratulate you and I am open to discuss about the games mentioned or ones I forgot either through PMs or in the comments. =)

I immediately have a thing for Italians. But despite that, Ezio is a badass no matter what.
