The Phoenix.....
It has been brought to me attention that some people won't unerstand what a phoenix demon is, and I play them a lot, so here is an in depth description of what they are, their culture ect. This is a race I created, as well as culture and everything. Please do not steal.
The Phoenix Demon
Appearence
The phoenix demon typically uses human form. When in human form, there is a flame that surrounds their body. It is harmless to them, and harmless to other people unless they want it to cause harm. Its size depends on the emotions of the person, and fluctuates higher with more intense emotions. If this flame goes out, it is very likely that the phoenix demon will die. There is a certain ritual that the family does, where they give some of their magic to the one who's flame went out. If it isn't performed within a day of the flame extinguishing, the phoenix demon will die.
They can also shift into their phoenix form. While phoenix, it is hard to kill them, because if they let their flame overtake them, they can be reborn from the ashes. However, it is not impossible. They always maintain a young appearence because every hundred or so years, they rebirth.
Abilities
Fire is the main element of the phoenix. They can control an manipulate flame in many ways. Some can use the flame to heal, or to teleport to far places. However, there are two things that every phoenix demon can do. Kaji Boruto is an attack in which bolts of flame, light lightning, rain down on the target and close in around them. Its accuracy is testy, because the bolts are so fast and wild.
The other is the main attack of the phoenix demon. Its called Dance of the Phoenix, and is activated with the words Boutukai za Fenikkusu. The user reverts to their phoenix form, and dances in the sky. Each move of the dance controls a flame that starts from teh phoenix and is set loose. It can take forms, or do many different things depending on the Dance. Each Dance is different, and they are not set. It is the hardest move to master because each phoenix has to learn their dances based on what moves affect the flame in which ways. The flame burns at hundreds of degrees centigrade. It is extremely volatile, and when it goes out of control, it can be very destructive.
Breeding
The phoenix is a bird, so the process of having children for them is similar. The mother goes through a short period of pregnancy, and creates a nest of pure flame. It resembles a large ball of flame and the inside of it is hollow. It must be 1500 degrees centigrade inside of the nest for it to safely house the eggs to come.
When the time comes to lay the eggs, the mother shifts into her human form and lays the eggs inside the nest. There they will stay hot and have a gestation period of about three months. When it comes time, the eggs hatch. However, the babies are not in the phoenix form. They won't be able to reach phoenix form until they are at least five years old.
The phoenix demon can have anywhere from three to five eggs. However, they only produce multiple eggs if there is love between the parents. If the parents aren't in love, only one egg is lain. The reasons for this are unknown.
Coming of Age
The age that a phoenix is of age is younger than most cultures. At eleven years old, the child comes of age. The parents take the child out and teach it the Dance, staying close. The morning of their eleventh birthday, the child goes out and hunts on its own for the first time. After the parents teach it the Dance, it is considered old enough to make its own decisions, and can leave the home if it wants to.
The reason that the age is so young is because phoenix demons live a long time, and mature fast. By the time they are eleven, they are considered old enough to control the Dance. Once they are taught the Dance, even if they can't control it, they are considered to be able enough to handle and protect themselves.
Alignment
The phoenix demon is not evil by nature. While there are evil ones out there, it is not a demonic race that thrives on anger and hatred. Many phoenix demons are good hearted, and will fight demons who are, in essence, evil.
