Nora Fries is the wife of Victor Fries. She grew ill, and to stop her disease from spreading, Victor cryogenically froze her in a special chamber that more or less froze her in time.Unfortunately, during the process, Ferris Boyle, Victor's boss, decided the procedure cost him too much money, and ordered the project shut down. In an effort to save her, Victor was knocked into a table of chemicals that turned him into the villain, Mr. Freeze.
It was believe Nora died in that accident, but was later to revealed that she was saved by one of the investors, Grant Walker, got her out, promising Freeze the means to restore her if he made Walker a frozen being like himself.
Currently, Nora rests in stasis in the Arctic, while her husband continues to search for a cure for her illness.
