STRANGER
The spray of mist coming from the waterfall brought relief to her aching muscles. They spent all day wondering the mountain side in hopes of finding the perfect cave to spend the night in. Dragons were thought to be monsters in this part of the country and were hunted without the slightest hestitation. Howeverit was important that the dragon Shadow, not become another victim to the angry mobs. Shadow was the prince of dragons and loved by the people of his kingdom, dragon and human alike. His human guide to the other country was simply known as the Alchemist of the Twilight. The purpose of their travel: to negotiate peace terms between the two rivaling countries of ancient times.
"You look a little tired." Shadow walked closer to where the red headed woman decided to take a rest on the moss covered rocks.
"I'm surprised you lasted this long being a prince and all." The woman looked over at Shadow giving him a playful smirk. "You're doing pretty good for never setting foot out of your luxurious castle."
"I'll take that as a compliment..." The dragon walked over to where the waterfall was letting the cold water cascade down his dark burgandy scales. "This water...I feel as if my strength is coming back to me."
"Well, that's a fairy fountain for you. It does miracles for both man and beast, I guess." The woman sighed pulling out her silver watch. "It's almost twilight. Do you think you can travel some more before dark descends?"
"I think I could travel all the way to dawn." Shadow returned the woman's smirk stretching out his wings. "We really need to take some of this water with us."
"Already did." The red head smirked at him again holding up a small glass bottle with a pink fairy inside it. "Hey, have you ever wondered what it must be like to be a pink fairy, but a boy?"
"My guess is that it might be embarrassing." Shadow lowly chuckled then stopped turning his head to the dark forest. His ruby eyes caught sight of a sudden flicker within.
"What is it?" The woman remained still keeping her causual pose she was in.
"I think we have some company." Shadow's ears tentatively twitched trying to focus more on the stranger staggered breathing.
