There are some wounds that cannot be healed by time...

Between me and my blade is
Every single deep emotion secret and fear
No-one knows me like the blade
Who knows every scar and every inch of skin

For the blade was there when no-one else want to
Let me in see the blade made things more manageable
As it knows me inside out and isn't scared when I bleed
It helps me proceed

It started off in scratches now its gashes
I see coffins or hear that saying ashes to ashes
But its not really that for me
Its not like the blade can set me free

I'm a prisoner to the inner and outer pain
With each cut I see I have nothing to gain
But the blade brings clarity to my misty mind
Even though it can't make up for you lack of kind

You don't have to understand my relationship with self-harm
Or how helps me to relax and calm
Just know the ecstasy of the blade helps me keep breathing
Even when I'm depressed and heaving ecstasy

In loving memory of Shadow.... The adorable spanial mix (mutt) who never listened, slept in my bed (took up most of the room), chewed up everything, whined when we gave her a bath, bite me all the time, humped my leg, but most importantly touched my heart. I will never forget her.
